Floyd Mayweather came in 2 pounds over the limit of 144 against Marquez(142)....yet people here said he cheated and had a huge weight advantage....he's a cherry picker, blah, blah, blah.
Yet Canelo walks in at 172 last night and Floyd who can barely make 151 on a good day is a bi*tch for not fighting a guy who outweighs him by 20-24lbs?
How about Canelo going up to fight Martinez, Chavez Jr and Ward, instead of worrying about some dude at 147? Those are much more interesting fights imo.
I don't get all the hate against Floyd, is he annoying as hell at times....Yes he is........., but he is a master in the ring and has been a dominate boxer for over a decade.
Haven't you guys noticed Mayweathers game plan??? Canelo is tailor made for Floyd, you guys are hyping Canelo up only to tear him down after he loses a UD to Floyd.
Mayweather is a master of illusion. And you guys fall for it each time...
He had you guys saying that he was scared of Mosley and that Mosley would beat him...and what happened??
He basically gets up in haters feelings, get them all pumped...
Mayweather is a master cherry picker, his whole thing is to make you feel like a easy opponent is dangerous to him and boom...
Canelo still needs to gain experience and fix his stamina issues. So in a way you are right about Canelo .... the funny thing is that Floyd's fans are just looking at the possibility of Floyd losing and it makes them go into "protect mode".
Funny how people want Floyd to fight at 54 but never demanded it of PAC like they do Floyd. Floyd still schools the ginger
Because it just wouldn't be realistic. He started his career just over 100lbs, for f**k sake.
Mayweather, on the other hand, has fought and won legit belts at the weight twice and wouldn't look out of place there.

Hey casual fan....Note: Marquez had to jump 2 weight classes from lightweight in order to fight @ 144 which Guerrero is also doing. Only difference is Guerrero got 2 fights in as a welter. Learn your facts. He basically asked a guy to come up 2 weight classes and he didn't make the contracted weight instead of fighting opponents that are true Welters.

It's not, it makes sense. Nobody pretends Pac's 8th divisional belt is legit. He gave it up on the spot. Floyd fans love to point out he's the #1 rated 2x champ in his 5th weight class, until it's time to fight a natural SWW, then Floyd is just a welter.

Floyd never shoulda fought piss drinker in the first place
blowing the weight just made it look even worse
Floyd's not obligated to fight Alvarez, but what else is there for him?
WW has nothing going on right now
only other viable option is fighting the JWW series winner
but waiting around isn't smart for Floyd, he's running outta time

floyd had a title at 154lbs, if he doesn't want to fight 154lbers he should gtfo....and floyd hasn't dominated over the last decade he has ducked, cherry picked and conveniently retired when things get hot, dominated ..:smashfrea***** please
Come on TS, let's stop playing "Floyd Mayweather - always the victim" and cut the bulls**t. The guy is ranked #1 at the same weight Canelo fights, why would he not fight him should be the question asked.
If he's not gonna fight at 154 then he shouldn't be ranked #1 in said weight class. Simple as.
Love how people make excuses for Floyd at their own detriment as a fan. Don't you want to see your guy take on the biggest challenges? Floyd has stated himself that he wants only the biggest fights. Who else can he fight right now that is going to bring in the money that ginger will? Pac was never a realistic option due to the promotional beefs.
Canelo is a champion and proven draw in the division that Floyd is currently a belt holder and ranked #1 in.
As a Floyd fan, are you all really saying you would rather have him take another fight like Guerrero or Devon Alexander or Amir Khan. Fighters he is guaranteed to beat but will not earn him the notoriety or dollars as a canelo fight? Floyds his own boss right, he makes money off the PPV buys and back end sales, why wouldn't he want to maximize his profits? He only has a few fights left.
Never understood Floyd fans logic. They make excuses for him not taking on the best fights. I would love to see Canelo fight a Martinez or Chavez Jr. Could he take a loss. Sure, but I would rather root for a guy that dared to be great rather than a guy that just talked about it.

You simply must understand that your perturbations about bias on this site are utterly pointless and only points you out as a poor poster. What I've begrudgingly come to understand is that some people are so emotionally invested in their fighters or fight scenarios that reason is the last thing they use, its utterly beyond them. So to argue with them is to prove yourself a fool.
Mayweather can do nothing right in the eyes of some, which is really interesting because how can one become the highest paid athlete in all of sports with this being truly so? Ah, so the Mayweather paradox continues.......
Haven't you guys noticed Mayweathers game plan??? Canelo is tailor made for Floyd, you guys are hyping Canelo up only to tear him down after he loses a UD to Floyd.

I can see the fight happening with one of those Pacman rehydration clauses.
So you can see it in your own warped fantasyland imagination? Another easy W for Floyd then.
If the fighters make the contracted weigh then the next day weight shouldn't be an issue. Unless you are fighting for the IBF.
When manny fought clottey, clottey was near 170 and manny under 150 but noone really complained and manny handled his business.
Canelo fought Trout both fighters were 170+ on fight night but since both fighters made the limit weigh there was no issue.
If floyd is fighting at 154 then he better expect his opponents to weigh higher than him on fight night. He always said he fought champions at their weight class because he wants them to be comfortable.
If canelo will be too heavy for him on fight night, then floyd stay at welterweight..
Care to tell me where Floyd is ranked at 154?
/thread
logoff
It was okay for Sergio to fight a guy that outweighed him by 20 pounds, why is any different for Floyd to do the same? Floyd has fought twice at 154, hold a titlebelt there, and is ranked as the #1 contender there. If he has the balls he should take on the biggest challenges, be it Canelo, Trout, Lara, or whoever. :boxing:
i think mayweather canelo should happen. but for me i don't give mayweather much credit if he wins because canelo is no where near the fighter posters here are having you believe. in fact he barely won that trout fight..............it's a decent fight but not p4p material.
canelo will be mayweathers "pacquiao" replacement to many posters.
So you're saying Floyd is too small to fight in the weight class that he has a belt in?
Why doesn't he just give his belt to canelo then lol?
No what I'm saying is he fought at 154 against dudes from 147...he hasn't fought a natural 154 guy....prior to last night I was all for canelo vs mayweather or mayweather vs trout...that was until I saw them come in at 170+.....too damn big its simple. I can see the fight happening with one of those Pacman rehydration clauses. Canelo was already a dangerous fight for Floyd...but now seeing that size its even worse and a waste of time.
Also my original statement was how was Floyd weighing 5 to 8 lbs more than Marquez some huge advantage, yet 20+ lbs means nothing except Floyd being scared
I don't see why people think Floyd won't fight him. For one, 40,000 fans showed up to watch Canelo last night. Two, I don't see anything about Canelos game that tells me he could beat Floyd.
EXACTLY this^^^^^^^^
