As of today, ESPN ranks the following boxers in their top-ten P4P list:
1. Floyd Mayweather Jr.
2. Andre Ward
3. Juan Manuel Marquez
4. Sergio Martinez
5. Manny Pacquiao
6. Guillermo Rigondeaux
7. Wladimir Klitschko
8. Nonito Donaire
9. Timothy Bradley Jr.
10. Carl Froch
1. Mayweather
2. Ward
3. Marquez
4. Martinez
5. Wlad
6. Rigondeaux
7. Bradley
8. Mares
9. Dawson
10. Hopkins
Froch does not beat Ward, Dirrell , Hopkins or Dawson and he's going in to a 50-50 fight with Kessler which he may lose and will need a little help from the judges.
Best List So far
Not a bad list actually. Personally I don't think Bradley should be top 10 , maybe just outside of it since he kind of lost to Pacman and had a close one with Prov. I guess since he technically "won" you can put him there. Either way not bad.
As long as Broner ain't on it, I'm cool with that. Although I'd switch Ward with Floyd.
Broner should be on their ahead of pacquiao and donaire. Mares should be on there too.
I have Rigo at 4 and I stand by that. Sergio is one of my favorites, but could he do to GGG what Rigo did to Donaire? I think he'd win, but not outclass and school him the way Rigo did. Ward, Mayweather, and Marquez are the only ones I put above him right now. Donaire was as high as 4 and he proved to be a clearly better fighter than him. Also Pacquiao and Donaire are too high. 7 for Pacquiao, 10 for Donaire. No Timothy Bradley, exchange him with Mares and it's a good list.
question: How in the **** did Pacquiao rise to #5 on the p4p list?
They're probably recognizing his win over Bradley. Another top pound for pound fighter.
I think that's fairly accurate, but sometimes it's hard to come back from a KO so Pacquaio's days might be over.
Manny had a great run. No one fights forever. Personally, it'll be sad to see him go. But it happens to the best....
when did castro take over and when did them guys become champions besides the 2 "kids"?...
I know what you're trying to say, but it doesn't really matter. The point is, every one of the fighters I listed were already fighting and established boxers before Castro took over in 1959. They were not a product of the communist system. I don't know when Napoles, Ramos and Paret won their first titles, but they all left Cuba when it became known that Castro was outlawing professional sports.
Naw, Rigo cracking the list at number six is pretty good, I think. It's really based on only one win. How far can one fight carry you?
Far--if a fighter's record gets trumped up enough in one year of fighting faded, unproven fighters that made the list prior.
I will never like robberies, but it's almost enough to make me wish Mayweather gets robbed against Guerrero, just to see the outrage from the people who say Bradley beating Pacquiao, "is a FACT, that's the official result, it's a FACT."
Although, I guess that was mainly retaliation for "three well-respected judges scored the fight for Pacquiao, that's all that matters."
It's 2013 and people STILL using the 'hurr durr Pacquaio lost 2 times now durrr'.
So many people love sucking Bradley's bald head I swear, the guy lost, he isn't an elite fighter, deal with it.
Two? The original Kid Chocolate was a world champion before Mexico or Puerto Rico had their first. Kid Gavilan, another ATG, was a world champion. Sugar Ramos was another. Jose Napoles, yet another Cuban ATG, was a world champion. Kid Paret was a world champion. Pro boxing in Cuba was destroyed shortly after 1960. Cubans have been denied participation in professional boxing for almost 55 years. Those lost decades saw the rise of Mexican and Puerto Rican boxing. I'm certain Cubans would've had their fair share of success.

Waiting for the Ring's ratings. I can't wait... I take those guys less serious by the day.
Bet you they're not gonna list Rigo but were quick to throw Guerrero and Broner on there.

Broner will take Donaire's sport. Guerrero will be at 7.

It would be frightening.
i dont get this at all .. pre communist cuba, they had 2 world champions , they have 14 total now mostly after castro took over...
Much easier to be a world champion nowadays.
