Sorry for what maybe a stupid question but who was the 3 number 1 guys he beat?
He basically skipped 115 from what I can recall anyway
1. Vic Darchinyan at 112?
2. Fernando Montiel at 118? Not sure he was #1, wasn't Mares when he won that mini-tournament?
3. Nishioka though he was inactive/semi-retired.
1.yes , wonjongkam was the lineal champ with dach as the number 1..
2. yes , mares was far from number 1, the tourney was between the number 4,5,6 and 7 ranked bw's..
3, and yes ..
no , he got away with it all time time coz you know what , he should've lost more times if he did'nt and he's fought many kinds of styles...beat all the numebr1 guys in 3 divisions...sometimes , it's just inevitable that a fighter ( even elites) looks not so impressive, it comes with th territory esp when he's facing a figther thats only trying to survive or style clash...it happens ...
i think at this point , if nonito changes his offensive aproach to better his defense, i think it would decrease his efficiency....

I can remember him trying that stupid mid air uppercut against mathebula, missing badly, and getting jabbed in mid air for his troubles lol. He won't be trying that with Rigo.
bull**** he wont... i'll tell you what not gonna work ..rigo's pawing jab , his combo practice extending that left then pulling back and those reaching left to the body and rapid combos to the body that makes him open upstairs ..rigo got plenty of stunts that might be bad habits againts nonito...
He gets away with it against guys that are made for him (small brawlers). Nishioka fought very tentative but he fought reasonably smart therefore Donaire couldn't get away with it. He had no choice but to remain more patient. If he fought like that more often he'd get hit a lot less. I think he fights fu.cking stupid if I'm honest.
Of course Roys impressed by him, hes likely very flattered a guy practices his moves and sees shades of himself in Nonito.
He shouldn't change as such but I feel if he put a little more thought into his attacks instead of just loading up on big ass left hooks and crazy uppercuts and didn't totally neglect his defense at times, he'd be a lot better fighter and he'd certainly get hit a lot less.
He just comes as desperate to me. When he can't land his beloved left hook its usually a case of game plan out the window and he just starts swinging like a mad man and lunging in. No jab, no set up, no thought behind it just desperation. All I seen against Mathebula was mainly frustration & desperation. I seen it against Vasquez Jr too.

everything nonito does is horrific to you .. but i tell you what everything nonito does that we see as special is better than anything your fav fighters can do...i wont brag about his defense but aint no way you can knock on nonito's offense while repping your fav fighters ...
maybe roy should stop complimenting nonito coz it seems to be making nonito do the impersonations more(i hate it myself) .. even roy jones is impressed by him but not you?..who the f0ck are you on your high horse... lol
so far he got away with eveything he did and he fought much better fighters than rigo , atleast much more accomplished...i dont see why he should change

Because its only Filipino fans I see of his making these crazy comments and bold predictions though presuming you're also Filipino you seem a bit more of a realist.
Hell I'm starting to think there is no point in this fight any longer seeing Donaire takes him out at will with the first left hook he throws.
how do you know they are even filipinos?..there are already alts pretending to be pinoys to sh1t on pinoys , gino ros for example is domnican posing as pinoy.. and like i said , there are only a couple of nonito fans that are saying ridiculous things and one of em is that dumbass hook 84 who seems to be new to this site, or maybe an alt...
and it's just a prediction ..can you really blame people that say rigo gets taken out but a lefthook when both times he got wobbled was becuase of it and it just so happens that nonito has the best lefthook in the game...
That lunging uppercut is a horrific punch that could well lead to his downfall. Vasquez Jr had great success countering it.
He should stop watching tape of Roy Jones Jr, he doesn't have the reflexes to get away with it or ring savvy.
He may well get away with such against guys who plod forward without a care in the world for defense but if he does that against a top notch counterpuncher like Rigondeaux, he may well find himself face first on the canvas.
I am just struggling to see him get away with half of this stuff. I think Rigondeaux is going to have a complete field day countering this guy and it will become target practice.

why do you have to make it about filipinos? ..the hook might be an idiot but he is one guy...

I don't care what YT experts think, with all due respect most of their predictions are simply laughable.
People get so caught up in a fighters power even the most greatest of predictors often get persuaded into silly stuff. Where I come from these fighters have is what is called a punchers chance & IMO that is all Donaire has.
I'm not overly impressed with his skillset, his defense or his left hook particularly (no denying its very powerful)
What is he going to do when his left hook gets taken away from him?QUOTE]
simple ..use the overhand right , straight right or uppercuts ..nonito has stopped or atleast dropped good fighters with them ...

Nonito has a straight right hand that is very underrated.
His straight right is not good and the only time I can recall him ever using it to any reasonable effect was against an inactive & uninterested Nishioka who was contempt on doing nothing but making sure his right glove was glued to the side of his head obstructing his vision.
Nice video, I tried to make one myself but it wouldn't save and I lost my rag with it.
I am fully convinced these Filipino fans of Donaire are the most ignorant ever and have only seen maybe 1 minute of Rigondeaux. You don't need to be an expert to see Rigondeaux is a tremendous talent.
The irony of a Donaire fan calling Rigondeaux a one-handed fighter don't half make me laugh.
He may underuse his right hand but hes far from one-handed. He has a lightning bolt jab & is very sneaky with that sweeping right hook he draws guys on to.
Donaires p4p reign is coming to an end. I just hope for his sake he doesn't think what his fans do and doesn't underestimate Rigondeaux as that would be damn foolish.

Actually it's more than likely! Because Rigo already shown he can be hurt! And that is against lesser fighter than any of Arce, darchi and montiel. And Donaire when he has a great fighter in his schedule, will prepare very well!
everyone can get hurt. every single fighter who ever set foot in the ring.
its a question of how often you get hit cleanly with punches you dont see, in rigos case thats very seldom. donaire is arguably the biggest puncher in boxing, he can take just about anyone out. then again rigo showed hes just about as good a technical fighter as there is in all of boxing, who might be able to outbox just about anyone at the lower weights.
donaire has had problems dealing with technical fighters in the past, while rigo shown nothing but superb defense his whole career and the few times he has been caught with a good shot hes taken it well.
i know you are among the ppl who think if you get hurt once in your life it means you have garbage punch resistance but thats not the case, rigo got caught by a great punch from a great puncher and stayed upright. that shows a good chin.
then again hes only human, a puncher like donaire can put him out. but can donaire hit him with those kinds of clean shots? can he withstand rigos power if he walks into a perfect counterpunch?
idk tbh, thats why im so excited about this fight.
If you look on youtube, most experts that are not Filipino got Donaire winning, so your comment is not correct.

It took me 2 minutes of watching him to see that the dude is special. So its Nonito. Cant wait!!!
If more people had a viewpoint like this of the bout that'd be awesome.
"rigo sucks he get ko'd in 4"
"left hand left hand, wow rigo garbage"
"rigondox is boooooringgg"
