Jesus Christ, this guy gets crucified on here for things that other guys get a pass for.
Guerrero can move up to 147, win a belt, and Mayweather isn't supposed to fight him because he's "too small." Despite the fact that Mayweather isn't big to start with.
Mayweather wins a title at 154, he has to fight Canelo (miraculously, Mayweather isn't "too small" in this situation). He is also supposed to fight Martinez, another fight where Floyd isn't "too small."
Mayweather is said to be "ducking" Canelo, because Canelo made a silly demand, and acted like a diva. Nevermind the fact that Canelo makes a (damn good) living off of avoiding top opposition.
Mayweather acts like a diva, and makes a silly demand, and guess what? Mayweather's ducking again.
Pacquiao wins a vacant title (at a catchweight of 150) and is praised, never expected to defend the title against a legit 154lber.
I could go on, obviously, but I think you get it.
Call it whatever you want, but it's the reason that with every day that passes, people take this place less and less serious.
This is funny , do you have any idea of the scope Floyd is at , same as Manny , does Manny read his hate topics , does it bother him what his non fans think especially when its based on hype and baseless crap anyway lol , these guys hardly ever read negative stuff , because every famous person has loads of it and they cant fall into that , a big part of being great is to be impervious to negative comments from people that dont know sh1t anyway , its all a big game and they get paid millions to have us argue their lives lol , the public sector are such a mob of sheep .
That is my original point...."MAYWEATHER DON'T CARE!" He has made it very clear to the boxing fans that it is all about the money for him...what part of that don't the fans understand? But yet they are trying to get him to fight for Legacy and to improve his Resume when he keeps telling the fans that he don't care about none of that
Bottom Line...if Mayweather don't care what is being said about him on the Internet...THEN WHY SHOULD HIS FANS!
If Mayweather cared what people thought about him then he would be taking the fights fans what to see him take but that is not the case...YOU KNOW WHY? Because he don't fukin CARE!

Pretty much how Donaire cared with Cubans crying over him maybe not fighting Rigo a couple weeks ago huh?
Oh Donaire Cares...He was b1tching in a interview about how "HE SEEN FANS SAYING HE IS SCARED OF RIGONDEAUX"...the way Donaire runs on Facebook and Twitter to cry about everything...he actually does care which is not a bad thing at all about carrying for your REP, because everybody is not Mayweather, everybody can't generate hate into MONEY
What are you, a child? It's a forum about Boxing. People gives their opinion and they debate. And all you've got is "Floyd don't what you think"?
Save that nonsense for the Youtube comment section.

Yea but self belief is a very important thing to a boxer, I don't think there is anything wrong with a fighter thinking the way Floyd does and expressing that. I don't think any fighter should think someone else was better, unless proven.
No one else should be saying that as it is clearly not a real assessment of his career but how someone views them self is different.
Exactly.
Same reason I don't care that Randy Moss said he's the best WR to every play in the NFL (and being a huge Niner fan, that is saying something). He's SUPPOSED to think he's better than everyone else. I would be disappointed if these guys didn't.
It's like this:
To me, pro boxing is kind of like pro music. When I go to see Branford Marsalis, I'm not there to see him play "Mary Had A Little Lamb". I don't buy recordings of him playing "Mary Had A Litttle Lamb". Know what I mean?
Besides, I am not penalizing him. I give Floyd credit for being great. I pick him versus pretty much all concievable non-fantasy opponents. What penalty?
To me, it's dumb to be satisfied with the lesser expressions of a great artist.

See that is dumb because a fighter should think he can't be beat and in Floyd's position where he has done quite a bit why should he think any man is better than him.
So you are penalizing a boxer for having strong self belief.

Listen tto Cotto who is another great fighter that has aton of heart Cotto who is a warrior himself said Guerrero is a warrior that says something when another top fighter who's a warrior himself says you're a warrior, not somebody who doesn't fight but this coming from another great fighter it says something. Ive known all along Guerrero is the goods man i'm not saying he's going to beat Floyd but it could happen he damn sure aint going to lay down i can tell you that right now that's not in Guerrero. Guerrero would smash Ortiz one because ortiz doesn't have a jab Guerrero can box as well and 2nd Guerrero has waaay more heart than Ortiz. Ortiz would break mentally against Guerrero, Guerrero would make Ortiz quit.
But you're right about this. THe time is coming. But it still takes a very good opponent to expose that. I think Floyd generally doesn't like to fight anyone that resembles him in any way. Whether it's on speed or conditioning. He likes to say that this guy, "runs out of gas in 5 rounds" or that guy, "is flat footed".
Andre Berto (while no Floyd) is NOT someone he would have fought for stylistic reasons, even if he had he beaten Ortiz or Guerrero. Yet both got their shot after beating Berto.
right now it seems like ou might be right about that
Pac hasnt had any easy fights in 8 years and he fights regularly, and people still try criticise Pac and his opponents believe it or not, even though Pac has had a tougher resume than anyone, especially considering how little time there is between each of his fights as well.
So of course Floyd fighting so little annoys the hell out of people, especially the people who want to see him get beat. He makes people wait 2 years for him to actually fight to get the chance to see him get beat and is rubbing people up the wrong way with his self proclaiming as well.
Why would anyone like his behaviour. Everyone loses out cos they dont get no action, and as boxing fans action is what its about. How does fighting so little help anyone other than himself and his self preservation?
this is so funny to me this post is basically floyd doesn't fight enough for me to see him lose so i'm mad.so you dislike the fact that floyd doesn't fight enough, thats fair.
you say that manny has not had easy fights so i guess you feel like floyd has had easy fights but im willing to bet if floyd fought all of mannys opponents when manny fought them in the last 5 years all of those fights would have been considered easy fights for floyd
Sad thing about the above post is that the bolded text could actually happen.
On Topic: Floyd repeatedly claims to be GOAT. That's Greatest Of All Time.
That is some tall sh1t to be talking when most people that follow the sport have seen guys like Ali and SRL and Roberto Duran and Tommy Hearns and Marvin Hagler, etc. live or on tv or at least in good video.
We have seen all of those guys (none of which make the same claim, unless I'm mistaken) in epic fights where the issue was definitely in doubt and they dug deep for the victory and every last bit of their greatness was on parade. Maybe multiple times.
That's what I want to see from Floyd. I think his name belongs in the same sentence with those guys. Will Guerrero bring that out of him? I doubt it.
If you're gonna' claim to be mfkn Superman, I'm supposed to just take your word for it?
No. I want to see you to put on the fkn cape and fly!

When he puts a clinic on Ginger, we're gonna have threads arguing Floyd just beat on an unproven, green, old, and past prime Canelo.

holy liberal circlejerk
90% of the posters in this thread are Fraud nuthuggers, circle jerking each other with the extremely over played "Floyd aint neva gonna get no credit" line
Fair thread topic I suppose. Surely it's pot calling the kettle black when it comes to Floyd and other fighters who almost do the exact same thing.
Well not exactly. The more often you fight, the more (technically or mathematically) the risk of losing increases. The more you fly on an airplane, the more chances there were for you to die in an plane crash (even if miniscule).
There also comes a point when only fighting once a year means you aren't as sharp as if you were fighting two or three times a year. The risk increases more for a 36 year old only fighting once every year or two years. Boxing isn't about mathematics. It's about skill, activity and sharpness. The older you get, the more they dull and the longer you are out of the ring, the quicker it happens. Floyd would look much better than he has of recent if he was fighting twice a year or more.
you didnt answer the question u just threw out a bunch of "ifs"
SO ANSWER IT BROTHER.... also what weight would serg fight floyd at? 154? if so wouldnt he be fighting in that division in his next fight to make a stake there? canelo needs to fight trout to give the mayweather fight more push he has not fought any of the top in his division... end of discussion on that one!
thanks
Yeah Guerrero is an okay fight provided Floyd takes on a better opponent after that, for example by defending his 154 belt vs Martinez, or unifying with the winner of Canelo Trout. There's lots more fighters at 154 who'd be more challenging than Guerrero, and it's not like Rob is extra marketable.
When he puts a clinic on Ginger, we're gonna have threads arguing Floyd just beat on an unproven, green, old, and past prime Canelo.
Then when Floyd fights him all these countless "Floyd is afraid of Canelo" threads won't even exist. Happened with Hatton, Mosley, Cotto HECK it even happened with Baldomir. RINSE AND REPEAT.

man if floyd wanted it martinez would drop murray, and canelo and trout would drop each other in a second for a chance at floyd in may. Or septemeber, whenever. Weren't they saving that september date for floyd canelo though?

Mayweather is really a natural 130lb fighter fighting at welterweight. And Guerrero is about a natural 126 lber fighting at welterweight. So they are naturally around the same size. That's not that big of a difference. Since they are around the same size Guerrero will be able to take any shot floyd throws just fine. Only thing with guerrero is that he's tall and has the frame to put on weight easy he can move up and fight in even biger divisions because of his height, stamina, toughness etc. Guerrero is about 5'10 floyd is 5'7 or 5'8. plus guerero has long arms. Guerrero reminds me of Paul Williams in the fact that Paul williams was a guy that was fighting at 147 but because of his frame and how tall he was, he could put on weight easy and fight at higher divisions which he did i think he beat winky wright at 160. which is really nothing cause his body frame allows him to do that. Guerrero is the same way, so Him and floyd are around the same size they both are small guys that are fighting at a higher weight class at 147. Except Guerrero is just taller and has longer arms that's it.
