Yeah but skip doesn't even watch boxing something he even admits. He's just trolling.
But I guess pac ta rdss are gonna pac tard
He's not too big, but he's arguably the biggest fighter Floyd would have ever faced, it's between Canelo or DLH. Even then, with Floyd Sr. in his corner, Sr. who puts a lot of emphasis on moving and jabbing, I see Floyd outboxing him, Trout is a stop and go counter puncher, I wouldn't classify him as a boxer, which is why Canelo beats him easy.
oh i dont know....maybe wanting a rivalry that is equally matched may produce great exciting fights...hell even like Gattti /Ward ....Just more great fights to brag about....Why the hell would we want that as Boxing fans!
In a sport that you dedicate insane amount of time, heart and soul into, when you practice and perform, the last ****ing thing you want is someone being notably as good as you. No one is in training camp thinking "Yes! I'm going to have an equal" A challenge is always exciting. Mayweather is on top because no one is as good as him, hence the term p4p KING a king rules over all, they don't have an equal.
It's nice to have these wars and **** but last I checked, boxing is "hit without getting hit," not "hit until whoever falls first." I'm not saying be a sucker and run because hell, no guts no glory but lets put this into perspective here. I'll say this much, nothing is more beautiful than a shut out. Ali/Frazier is an exciting battle that is very note worthy but Ali/Liston is a much more impressive win/fight.
I get what you're saying, having an equal really could define someone. Hell, it goes back to something as simple and fictional as comic books. Super heroes have arch nemesis's and people they do battle with that really shape and accentuate who they are. Batman has Joker, Spider man has Venom or Green Goblin. It's cool because they bring the best out in that person. Boxing isn't far from that stuff because boxers engage in something we as people run or stray away from as much as we can. So in some way, boxers can feel like fictional characters, especially with all the feats they perform in the ring. Even though, to the untrained eye, can be overlooked.
I guess in some way, that contributes to how and why people hate Mayweather so much (aside from all the 24/7 stuff and bad boy "money" persona) there's no real way to rank or rate him, so it's almost like he seems invincible, therefore we don't really know the extent or end of his ability. Considering he has yet to find an even match.
I get you but I gotta disagree.
So you honestly think Manny wanted a rivalry with Marquez? The objective here is being the best of the best with no doubt. No wants a rivalry because at the end of the day your going to always be in someones shadow if you lose to that person but have a better career. People will always bring up that time you lost to this person this many times and so on. In a guy like Manny's case, he got KTFO. This is what the rivalry between these two will always be remembered as. A rivalry is cool for the fans but not the actual fighter.
This is just QFT. You hit the nail on the head man. Rivalries are cool stories to tell but it leaves an asterisk on your legacy.
Canelo is a small JMW. I met him a few months ago in New York and he just isn't that big compared to other JMW's i've met including Trout and Jorge Melendez. He's a bit like Froch in the sense that if there was a weight division between his and the one below him, that's where he'd be. Welterweight was getting a bit hard for him so they moved him up a weight but kept him going against the fighters from the division below. Going into the ring with 140 guy Josesito Lopez, he was actually the lighter fighter. Even though Victor Ortiz can make welterweight, he maybe bigger than Canelo. There really wouldn't be that much in it between them. These guys at ESPN really need to stop talking about boxing because they know nothing about the sport.
So Canelo is too big for him but Guerrerro who less than 2 years ago was fighting at 135 is a fair fight?
Pacquiao has outsold Floyd every year since the De la hoya fight so when your the biggest Cash Cow, you do the offering, a take it or leave it with no PPV was insulting and Floyd knows that
Pac was fine with 50-50 or even 45-55
Floyd could of ended all the doubt if he woulda just fought Martinez, canelo or even trout on may 4. A serious challenge is what us boxing fans have been wanting from mayweather. But over the last couple years he has benefited from perfect match making. A ward deserves the 1 spot p4p. He's beating the very best and they haven't been fighters who are "out of there prime", "to small", or "no deserving"
I think Pac should fight Canelo, Trout or Martinez.

Floyd wished he had a rivalry that matched up against Manny vs Marquez. I'd be more pumped up to watch Manny vs Marquez #5 than Floyd vs Guerrero. Any day, any time!
What? Why? Why would you WANT a rivalry? Who in this world wants to be equal or matched by someone else? ESPECIALLY boxers. The whole point to boxing is to be the best, unmatched. No equal. Not, let me be really good and run into someone who is just as good as me. That doesn't make sense to me, what so ever but hey! I could just not see what you're talking about, so if you'd like, enlighten me as to what you mean.

you dudes claim he's a cherry picker and a ducker, so do u actually believe he'd want to lose and have a draw against anyone?

neither one of them mentions MP flip flops and these two clowns dont talk about boxing outside of FMW and MP if they did esp with the mares situation they would know that GBP and top rank have a feud the MP fight was never gonna get made anyway its was just a cat and mouse chase with one side doing all the talking while another side barely said anything....
