"Old School" 80s & 90s hahahahaha!!!!! How old are YOU 15yrs.?????
Marquiz of Queensbury enters around 1885??? Just a guess, so "old school" should be about 1915 thru 1925 I'd guess! After that the emergence of Gans, Pep, Benny Leonard etc things got modern real quick!! Now occasionally you'll get an "old school" styled fighter like a "mid career" Toney!! But overall theres no changes from 1935 to the present. Talented era's come and go and a great fighter appears once every 20 years or so. Except the era we're in where EVERYONE is GREAT hahahaha!!! 80s 90s my azz!!!! :nana: Ray.
My old school then. So you know it is 2013, it has been 30 years so wtf is your problem?
I apologize if I'm not 75 yrs old

Yea I know. I was just joking and I know where you're coming from but those guys were actually likeable. Unlike Mayweather and Broner... I'm not justifying what they (DLH, Leonard, etc.) did but that's most people's mentality around here.

It just shows how people are easily fooled by facades, those guys also benefited from information not being as available as today.
I just dislike the selective morality based on a guys likability also I don't care much about boxer morality in general.
Yeah, he cherry picked Tito, Mosley, Hopkins, Sturm and Vargas. The guy was a genius...
Yeah also how he cherry picked Ike "bazooka" QUARTAY..... If anything we need more fighters like Oscar de la Hoya! Dude fought anybody anytime.
Oscar was a cherry picker?

Dont know how De La Hoya is a Cherry picker. guy fought the best from the late 90's all the way til he retired. And Pacquiao fought the best opposition at each weight almost his whole career. dont know how they are cherry pickers.
are you serious?? So Shane Mosley and Margarito were the best choices for Pacquiao????
I miss the 80's and 90's where guys like Tyson could beat up old ladies in elevators for their purses and no one cared, or hit their wife so hard they bragged about it being the hardest punch he ever landed in public.
Great times~
I also miss those days, when a fighter like like Tony Ayala can sexually assault 2 women on 2 separate occasions even leaving one with a broken back, to only get probation.
I think you're thinking of the 2000's. Floyd and Broner are the ones you're thinking of.

If you thought the 80s and 90s were great, you should have been around in the 70s (and early 80s). There were world title fights on free television almost every weekend. Almost all of Larry Holmes Hwt title fights were on free TV. Alexis Arguello, Mike Spinks, and Hagler were on free TV all the time. My favorite was when Bobby Chacon, Bazooka Limon, Cornelios Boza-Edwards and Rolando Navaette took turns trying to kill each other for the WBC 130lb belt. As they say, those were the days

lol what a fckin joke.
Tyson won his first title in 86 and by 89 he was already lax in his training and letting his personal life get in the way of boxing.
Commitment to the sport
