Here's an admittedly oddball question. How do you think a prime, 2008 version of Margarito would handle one or two hard shots from an average heavyweight (say Arreola, Thompson, etc.). Would he be able to handle it, or would his chin crack like any other welterweight?
I think he'd fare pretty well, but I could see where anyone would think he wouldn't.
I can't believe I got sucked into actually responding, but get real.....a heavyweight vs a welterweight. CHRIS BYRD would put Margarito's ass to sleep.
Must be new? My join date is a year earlier than you, as you can plainly see.
This is obviously a ridiculous thread, but I started it to hear interesting responses. Not insults.
first it was not an insult and you should not take it that way, what i mean by new is fairly new to boxing because of the question you asked, no one who has been around the game for a while would ask such a question. And me i have been in love with boxing for 36 years i am just new to this site. Disrespect was not my intention
I got a better question. Could Margarito have taken flush power shots to the chin from Julian Jackson, Tommy Hearns, or Ray Robinson and had zero reaction?? Had he been hit by some of the harder punchers close to or actually in his weight class historically speaking and survived we could have had a proper discussion. .....
Actually, I agree. That is a more intriguing question. I think he'd take all of their best shots.
What? you must be new, if he could he would not dry himself out to make WW where he could fight smaller men. a good MW or JMW puncher sparks him easy

A good hard punching heavyweight would KO Margarito in my opinion but he had a great chin for a welterweight. A hard punching heavyweight hits much harder than Mosley.
