Since I'm of the opinion Floyd doesn't have Mosley type power or close to it, I truly believe that version of Vargas had an incredibly good chance of beating him. Vargas was always a capable boxer & he was big at 154. Due to his size & better than average power, I truly think Floyd would have a handful to deal with.
You didn't need Mosley type power to beat that version of Vargas.
Vargas was borderline done at that point, could hardly pull the trigger and there is simply no way in hell that version of Vargas is beating Mayweather.
A prime Vargas wouldn't beat Mayweather but that version has no chance at all.
Despite disagreeing I can live with the others.
But the Vargas that Shane fought would be a toss up with Mayweather? Not even close.

Winky
Forrest
(prime) Oscar All beat him.
Cotto & Vargas would be toss ups.

i like floyd against everybody on shane's resume except vernon forrest. forrest beats mayweather in my opinion. height, speed, power, and a jab. i think winky would be a tough fight but i like floyd in that fight.
Was starting to think about the fighters from that era and I would have liked to see floyd go against quartey. Not sure if he could pull counter that cannon of a jab Ike was packing.
I think Winky beats him, Oscar may edge him but Floyd can win that. Forrest would be the most dangerous. He had reach, power, height advantage and he could box.

He could make it undefeated but it's unlikely, I think he loses I Winky but wins in a rematch, and beats DLH by close decisions. Now if it's controversial or not- that's different.
Didn't I say the Winky fight would have been his toughest fight? I can't say who could have won, as it's pointless (yet fun) talking about match ups that never happened, but I think it would have been a difficult fight for Floyd.
No, I don't think Forrest would have won. RIP to him, but I think he gets a bit overrated on here, good fighter with a great jab, but I don't see why he's so highly regarded.
You must of must all of his fights pre mayorga..............
i think he fights winky to 2 draws... these are 2 defense first fighters... but honestly winky is way too big for mayweather. he could beat forest.. he lost to mayorga ffs.. bad arm or no bad arm thats still shamefull.
That's what I'm saying.
You really think he could take a prime vernon and winky twice? wow......

People will probably say he would've lost to Vernon Forrest, but I disagree. The toughest fight on Mosley's resume for Floyd would have been Winky. And possibly a younger Oscar, but I still give Floyd the edge.
