Blueprints and gameplans don't mean a damn thing if people can't execute them. That is why I was always so torn on Manny cause his flaws were so damn obvious but most people couldn't do a damn thing about them. So you had to respect what he was doing.

That is the essence of boxing, make a dude miss making him vulnerable then making him pay harshly for that mistake. JMM is a very good boxer though, not in the freeze you out sort of way most people look at boxers because he can get hit, but that can also work in JMM's favor because if a guy can never have success they will shell up (at some point) but if a guy can have some fleeting success that will make them try harder and when you try to make something happen against a guy like JMM that is when he is most dangerous. It is easier to see that sort of stuff from the outside looking in though, not a lot of guys are capable of the control, discipline and clear thinking in the middle of some guy trying to hurt you bad that is required to pull off such a feat.

Interesting video in its technicality, it shows some movements and counter movements that can help to better understand and apprecciate the sweet art. As for Pacman, it's not about figuring him out imo. De la Hoya, after fighting him, said something on the line of " he made lots of mistakes, but was simply too fast". Manny's never been a technician, nor a "boxer" , he relies on speed,chin, movements, volume punching and stamina. There are two things that jump to the eye in my opinion. 1) In order to force Manny to fight a technical fight one needs to have great timing and reflexes. Pac is extremely fast, mobile and not easy to beat to the punch, thus also feinting is extremely important, unless one has even better reflexes than Manny. 2) It is no coincidence that Manny got knocked down (and then out) in the fourth fight rather in the first. Once again, it's not about figuring him out, it's about managing to deal with such speed , volume punching, movement and stamina all at once. Manny's speed and stamina are not the same anymore, that makes everything a little bit easier, especially for a counter puncher.

Marquez and Mayweather fight nothing alike. And yes, if these two had fought in 2010, I would have picked Pacquiao. Now, who cares?
