Chavez Jr vs Golovkin

I like Jrs gas tank..... Golovkin wont look to outbox him and I think that would play into the bigger mans hands

True. But is Golovkin gonna wanna get in close long enough to trade body shots? It would be interesting. That's exactly why this is one of the best fights that can be made. Their styles complement each other so well to where the fight is bound to break down into a slug-fest. Both guys are coming to hurt one another, but since Golovkin seems to be more accurate and has better punch placement, I'll side with him to get the W. I really hope this happens before September, and then the winner gets Martinez.

Chavez didn't stop Zbik/Rubio and they fought his fight. He might be bigger than Golovkin, but it comes at the price of being weight-drained. Chavez's punch resistance is still a question mark imho, and Golovkin is a pretty good body-puncher. We know Chavez can absorb head shots, but his body is a different story. It also means your punches will take their toll much quicker, especially with Chavez's relentless body attack. I don't think it would be smart for anybody to exchange with Chavez Jr in this division. Saying he would destroy Chavez is another overhyping scenario, 3G takes too many punches himself and I swear he would not take those same punches from a damn crusierweight in Chavez and be standing like he did Ouma or Proksa.. Golovkin spars with actual CW's like Imoesiri, i think he could take Chavez's slightly above averege MW power without much trouble.

Not sure how big you are but I'm closer to 160 and I can tell you that I'd rather not get decked in the face by a 180 plus pound professional boxer who is 5 inches taller than I am. Chavez has a sneaky left hook that is pretty quick, ask Andy Lee about it. Chavez hits hard, I'm not saying he is a one punch KO artist but at 160, his punches are not to be taken lightly...he can hurt you badly especially to the body. 3G was taking flush shots from Proksa and in other film I have seen of him, he eats shots all the time but he has a very solid chin like Chavez. Chavez is a hyped punk but too many people give him too little credit. I personally thought Lee would beat him but Chavez had Lee out on his feet. 3G may win the fight but he is in no way a defensive genius and I'm not seeing where he is this unbeatable force as everyone is claiming he is. I think he is strong, has a good chin and places his shots well but I have seen nothing from him to suggest a future ATG. not denying chavez is bigger, he's the biggest mw in the division...but he's definitely not the strongest. there was no indication in the lee fight that he's "quick" and i'm curious to hear what u saw in that fight to warrant saying this i never said ggg is a defensive genius, in fact i agree with u that he gets hit but i've rarely seen him get hit flush and i've never ever seen him bothered when he did. ouma was able to hit ggg with his awkward style and proksa got a few nice shots in but then again so did lopez against canelo but he was just overpowered and pummeled into submission in a similar way ggg beat proksa down ggg isnt an unbeatable force, but he is very hard to beat considering his power, accuracy and smart combination punching

Haven't seen much of GGG other than his first HBO appearance and the hype on here so id say he needs to make a name for himself this year, at least in America

Excluding Martinez I'll give him a strong chance at beating anyone at 160. That includes GGG. His defense isn't much better then Chavez's. It would be interesting.

He should really be fighting at 168 or 175 but he might get stretched out fighting guys as big or bigger than he is. 3G could land shots on him but he himself is not too hard to hit and taking constant shots from a dude with Chavez' size and power is going to wear anyone down, I don't care how good our chin is. What? 165lb Zbik stood up to everything he offered no problem then went on to get busted up and stopped by light punching Sturm in his next fight. HE doesn't have real big one punch power at 160 and once he starts fighting at SMW guys are going to walk through his punches with little problem.

That would be a great fight too, and it would make sense cuz Chavez doesn't belong at MW anymore. Couple this with the fact that despite Kelly's mishaps he still has pop in his punches.

I know I may be in the minority in saying this but I wouldn't mind seeing a comeback fight in having Chavez and Kelly Pavlik fight. Let's see who has more in the tank! That would be a great fight too, and it would make sense cuz Chavez doesn't belong at MW anymore.
