Martinez has three more fights in his HBO contract, one of them will be against Murray. Just going off LINEAL title reigns, who should Martinez fight or what set of event should transpire for his lineal reign at 160 to equal or surpass that of Hopkins at 160 in your OPINION. Would he need more than three fights?

Hopkins MW Reign>>>>Sergio's ENTIRE Career
So what do you suggest Martinez do to equal or surpass Hopkins' middleweight reign (thread question)?
By the way, did you know Alexis Bledel is Argentine (like Sergio) on her father's side.
On a side note.....though this won't happen, I'd love to see Austin Trout fight Sergio Martinez. Two quick southpaws, two of the top fighters from 154-160. That'd be a damn good fight.
What's funny is DiBella had been mentioning Sergio getting a crack at Cotto at a CW or something, but I don't hear them mentioning Trout at a CW even though he just beat Cotto.
I also think tthat would be a very entertaining fight to watch, maybe at a 157-58 catchweight. However, I think it would be wiser at this time for Trout to stick to 154 for now as that's were most of the money fights are. A unification fight with Canelo, if possible, would do wonders for his career and future marketability.

because cotto = $$$ :dunce: just like how alvarez, vanes, and k9 all mentioned before wanting a shot at cotto. why aren't they mentioning trout now? cause cotto has the name/resume/fanbase to deliver a big W and paycheck.
martinez would have to unify titles with the remaining titleholders: golovkin, geale, and quillin. there's really no one at MW that would make a significant difference outside those 3 (maybe pirog if he gets back into the mix).

Sergio needs to fight Geale and Golovkin. Those are the best fights for him at 160. I'd like to see Pirog and Quillin fight each other.
Ideally, I would like Geale and Golovkin to fight each other mid-2013 so that Martinez can fight the winner by late-2013. Afterwards Martinez could fight Quillin and unify all the belts.
