I hate to say it but it looks like Khan is following into the footsteps of Zab Judah, I remember once there was a thread very similar to this in which there was a poll and almost everyone said that Khan will achieve more than Judah in his career I think that might now be proven wrong.
Khan has half as many fights as Judah and half as many losses as Judah, He doesnt quit like Judah but he gets wreckless and starts slugging it out when he clearly does not have Marvin Hagler like whiskers.
Judah lost all of his big fights, Khan lost his biggest fight to Garcia which should have been for the WBA/WBC/IBF/RING he might get a rematch, he might even win the rematch. To think that Khan was going to fight Guerrero instead of Judah makes you think considering what Guerrero did to Berto.
So my fear is Khan is just going to end up being a "name" that gets constant world title fights and wins some and looses some (avoidable losses).
We'll know by what Khan does in 2013.
Khan has wins over Malignaggi, Maidana, Judah, and arguably a win over Peterson.
Judah has wins over Witter, Corley, Spinks, and Matthysse. So yeah....he could be on his way.
Khan isn't a gatekeeper, he's still a top contender
he's a better fighter than Zab and thrashed Zab head to head
Khan's not a guy you'd pick to lose against any top name near him
no, he's not on his way to becoming Zab
i agree but i still rate judah higher
kahn was koed by prescott,garcia
judah by tszyu!
big difference
both keep getting tv dates they do not deserve
Judah was ko'd by Khan.
Hell no, Garcia was not his biggest fight. That was seen as an easy tuneup at the time. Maidana and Kotelnyk were his biggest fights. Even Kha's Judah fight was bigger than the Garcia fight.

I think that Khan is not going to reach Judah's levels and really will be a poor man's version of him.
Judah once was the undisputed champ at WW, So it's not like he didn't achieve anything... Khan hasn't come close to that yet.
Also, let's see Khan at 147? That's where 5 of Judah's 7 losses come from.
This was against prime fighters Spinks, Mayweather, Cotto, Clottey, Baldomir. Let's be real, how many active fighters go through those 5 fighters at 147 without a loss or two, at the time Zab fought them? The clowns will make fun of Baldomir of course, but will ignore that he was undefeated from 1999-2006, 8 years, 21-0. Despite that impressive run, Baldomir is the weakest one of the bunch.
Since he became a world champ Khan has only lost one fight clearly and that's the Garcia fight. A lot of people had Khan beating Peterson, even with the point deductions and bent referee and judges.. in hindsight we can't even count that as a loss because Peterson admitted he was cheating during that fight. One of the sanctioning bodies gave Khan his title back after that news was uncovered, but the other one (IBF) didn't, which is why that's still recorded as a loss, but no one actually counts it as a loss because of the extenuating circumstances.
It's an interesting comparison with Judah, I can see why you make it and I'd say that Khan is at risk of becoming a similar sort of fighter if he tries to put on too much of a show and act tough instead of behave smart and forget about the crowd. He could go down the same path as Judah, or he could mature and become a totally different sort of fighter. Time will tell.
In terms of their career paths, yes. In terms of what they do in the ring, no. They're on opposite ends of the spectrum. Khan has tons of heart but a weak chin while Zab has a decent chin but not much heart.
I agree, I never said that Judah was a bum, I simply said that Judah like Khan is very, very inconsistent, you never know what your going to get. Both are super talented naturally just mentally they have problems and are there own worst enemies.
khan is consistent . . . consistently b level.
Maybe you can compare them that way, but Khan doesn't have the same ability as a young Zab Judah! All khan has going for his is his speed and range, he has zero in the way of intelligence
Zab Judah is no bum on the scalr of things. Inconsistent but still a very good boxer.
