Let's say it's at a catchweight of 157. They both probably are around the same size on fight night. I don't have any info on Golovkin, but I would guess he is around 167 or 168 after rehydrating.
This probably will not happen any time soon, but it is a feasible fight down the line
golovkin would demolish alvarez...only thing that i could see giving GGG some trouble is alvarez's hand speed. alvarez for his own health should stay at 154 because a guy like GGG would retire him.
also golovkin and alvarez already spared and apparently golovkin rattled alvarez at one point during the sparring...but then again sparring is just sparring.
Both unproven to an extent, but Canelo has a few bigger names on his resume. Only mention that due to the fact that hes been in the spotlight. Not saying he wins, but GGG hasnt exactly been dominating the boxing world either. Canelo i think still has one of the hardest thuds when he hits the body, GGG would likely move around via Sergio vs Jr. Either way....i'd pay to see this fight, and it would be sort of an eliminator. Winner moves on to bigger and better things, while the loser goes into Amir Khan limbo.
I was just being sarcastic. Golovkin is a middleweight but he's fighting a junior middleweight next....it would fit the pattern for him to go after Canelo since he too is a junior middleweight.
Fight a good 160 pounder already, GGG.
Only difference is the entire division wants to fight Alvarez, while GGG's division doesn't
Have any of you heard about Canelo dropping ggg in sparing?
No...because everyone has heard the exact opposite, actually. And GGG knocks Canelo out brutally. But to expect Alvarez to fight a fighter with an actual pulse is wishful thinking, to say the least.
no way GBP lets Canelo anywhere near Golovkin. They're only willing to let Canelo fight good fighters for HUGE money, and right now GGG can't deliver those kind of dollars.

Both are unproven. I think GGG is a meaner son of a ***** with a harder punch. Canelo isn't hard to hit, so I'm taking God of War by ko. But honestly who the **** knows? They need to fight names first. I just know Cottos brother rocked Red. No doubt his chin is questionable against a puncher like GGG.
This might be Golovkin's next fight. That's why he's fighting a another 154 pounder, to get ready.

With the WBCs blessing, GBP will keep feeding Canelo soft opposition because they don't have enough faith in him to fight good fighters (GGG, Lara, Martisan,Trout, K9, Molina, etc). They just want to cash him out for big money (Mayweather, Matrinez).
I pick GGG, however I haven't seen enough of both fighters. Golovkin barely beat a guy like Ouma, Canelo on the other hand is beating bums and guys in lower weight divisions. I'd like to see both guys fight a top guy first.
Probably triple G. I wouldn't count Alvarez out. We still don't know how tough he is or how much hart he has. That could make all the difference in the world.
