Mayweather vs. Martinez

Do people not get tired of talking about this unrealistic match up? Floyd did not even fight pac for double the money he would have gotten if he fights martinez. what makes anyone think he'd fight sergio martinez? And Martinez would beat the crap out of floyd.

Martinez is too dangerous for Floyd, look instead for Floyd to fight someone Gamboa or Guerrero. Why fight a bigger guy?

Boxing a tactical and economical bout is Floyd's game before it's Sergio's Floyd has multiple lines of defense and doesn't need to constantly move. Martinez doesn't. You miss the point, big time. The point is Sergio doesn't need to constantly move laterally or have to run against Floyd, his legs won't be an issue at all. He's the bigger man and will be the aggressor. He'd be in and out and very good at keeping floyd at the end of his punches. FLoyd doesn't beat sergio with single pot shotting, he just doesn't. It's that simple.

There will always be doubters, but unless the we see a sharp decline in Martinez' performances soon then no one can legitimately call Floyd into question. Mosley was a bit deceiving as his only notable win in recent years had been that Margarito fight. Margarito may been cheating for a while, so that win was probably not as impressive as originally thought.

Triangle theories do not work. Also, that fight between Martinez and Margarito was 11 years ago. Martinez has vastly improved and Margarito may have cheated throughout his career and/or was in better physical condition at that point then he was when he fought Mosley. they do work. i just did it. mayweather wins via triangle submission.

Nobody is moving up and beating Sergio, nobody. Mayweather couldn't get to 154 in either attempt and while he won both fights comfortably, he clearly had some problems with Oscar's size. Sergio is bigger than Oscar, not to mention better, faster, more powerful and harder hitting. Floyd is the better boxer, but even at 37 Sergio is a better athlete than a 35 year old Mayweather and he;s too big for him.

There's no bigger fight to be made for Mayweather right now as far as credibility is concerned. Floyd might make more money against someone like Canelo, but nobody can give him legitimacy like Martinez can. real talk!!

The biggest flaw in the fight is that Martinez holds his hands low and against a guy who could easily nail him with hinds hands up, while by his side he is target practice for Floyd. If Barker and others could nail him all night, Floyd would land way more precision counters and would not get hit in return. Wide margin for Floyd.
