2012 awards..who would you give them to?

I completely don't understand the hype that Donaire is getting. His best win this year was over Mathebula. That isn't saying much. (Nishioka sucked by the time they fought.) Quality>quantity Mares, Marquez, Froch, and Ward had better years.

Come on guys, Marquez-Pac was NOT the fight of the year. Sure it had drama but there was about 2 rounds of sustained action. Rios-Alvarado is still the CRYSTAL clear fight of the year. I can't even fathom how it can possibly be debatable. I found Rios-Alvarado pretty monotonous. It was fun, but it didn't do much for me. I never got out of my seat for any single time.

Exactly..that fight delivered everything it promised!..I mean who doubted it would be anything less than a toe to toe WAR?..and it was just that!..although I still feel the stoppage was a bit premature..the 2 took and gave hellacious bombs!..I would love a part II but seems pretty pointless for Rios at least.. It is not a crystal fav at all. Viloria-Marquez and especially Juanma- Salido was as good if not better Last year the fight if the year was Berto-Ortiz i think, even though it was only good for the first 6 rounds and then pretty boring for the other 6

marquez-pacquiao 4 was the best fight in the last 5 years.

I think there is enough knowledge among the prominent selectors at Ring, ESPN, and here to overcome that. Lopez-Ortiz isn't in the same ballpark as the Jaro win. I dont know, it's far fetched IMO. It happened in the beginning of the year with 2 very unknown fighters. I'd bet 95% of people dont know either guy around here. I hope you're right but i highly doubt it

Fight of the year: Pacquioa vs JMM ko of the year: Pac Marquez trainer of the year: Garcia fighter of the year: Donaire Round of the year: Martinez-Chavez Rnd 12. I originally though Marquez should get fighter of the year, but Lampley convinced me it should be Donaire because of his 24/7 testing. There were also better overall rounds than Chavez/Martinez Rnd 12, but no other round was anywhere near as exhilarating considering the context.

Does Marquez deserve Fighter of the Year based just on the Pacquiao win? Nonito Donaire won a vacant title, unified against another champion, and then beat the linear champion of the weight class. (he also retired Arce but that doesn't mean much.) He did more overall IMO.
