I'm expecting a big performance from Rigo. This is his chance to show the world on the same card as Donaire, that he could be a real problem for Donaire.
I think Rigo will look to impress.
I think that Poon will pressure him and make it an uncomfortable, ugly fight for Rigs. UD win for Rigs but he wont like the type of fight that it is and he will be defensive.
Poon dude is going to force the action which i like we might see Riggo's true colors one way or the other, Master Counter puncher or chicken shit amateur we will see! Only one of those leads to a W
I agree, we'll see what Rigo's really all about soon. I gave him a pass for the way he reacted to Cordoba. It was still early on in his pro career. (Actually, it still is.) But I don't want to see that ever again. I do believe, however, that Guillermo learned from the experience. Fighting defensively is one thing, running away is another.
The UD against Sidorenko should have been a definite win for him. A little Asian guy fighting an undefeated, prime champion in Germany? He'd have had to KO Wladimir just to get a draw. Either way, he won that fight and his other fight outside Asia when he knocked out the undefeated champion Dunne in 3 rounds.
He did lose to the Japanese guy, but he looked strangely off that night and it was still a very close fight.
His record should be/is (reality without corruption) 49-1 (33 KO).
He's past his best, but certainly not shot yet.
:lol1:
I didn't see the fight, but I'll take your word for it that the decision was bad. I was just pointing out Poon's "road record". In any case, Poonsawat would be a good victory for Rigo.

Just some interesting tidbits, for those who aren't familiar with Poonsawat. This fight with Rigo will mark only the second time in his career he's fought outside of Asia. The other time being a bout he fought in Germany (where Poon lost a UD). Kratingdaenggym lost a UD in Japan. So, of the three previous times Poon fought outside of Thailand, he lost twice.
Poonsawat has never been stopped and never been down.

In the same sentence you managed to say that Rigo would be ultra-aggressive and give and exciting fight, then you immediately follow up by saying that he'll be ultra-defensive and put you to sleep. Nice.
Yeah being sarcastic is sometimes hard to pick up :pat:
Rigo is one of my favorites, and i expect him to demonstrate pure boxing skill. I love watching him fight..he's a difficult opponent. If Rigo aint up agaisnt someone who is agressive and willing to take risks, its going to be a boring ass fight though but still love to watch it! I love when Rigo feels the need to entice his opponent to come forward by throwing a punch at 1/17th the speed he would normally throw it, so awesome to watch. .definietly a talented fighter!
I'm expecting him to come out ultra aggressive like Pacquiao and give us an exciting fight from start to finish, but knowing him and his ultra defensive style I know I can expect him to put me to sleep. Oh well I do need a nap anyways. By the way Rigo is just a KO waiting to happen, that chin of his is way suspect.

I think pac boy just got completely owned. This is what you did to his post:

My friend I remember watching rigo fight back in cuba many times..ppl was amazed with his power..and you know the kind of opposition in cuba..rigo is a serious fighter with serious ko power..
In my previous post I said, "Guillermo definitely has serious power," so I'm not disagreeing with your point. But you were talking about his KO rate, and I basically replied that it's not particularly noteworthy.
Rigo has eleven pro fights. He didn't knock out two of his better opponents: Cordoba and Marroquin. He even failed to KO Addy (a fighter with an 8-4-1 record, when they fought). Given his style, I expect Guille to KO most of the weaker men he fights and decision most of the better men he fights. It doesn't have so much to do with his power. It has to do with his style. By the time Rigo retires, possibly with 30 or so fights, he'll probably have less than a 60% KO percentage. That's not impressive.
I thought Poon beat Sydorenko which was in Germany and he also knocked out Dunne in Ireland....
Whoops, you're right, Poon has so far fought twice outside of Asia. (Saturday will be his third.) I missed Ireland. Scanning through all Kratingdaenggym's fights on Boxrec, it's easy to miss "Ireland" among all those "Thailands". :lol1:
But Poonsawat did lose to Sydorenko in Germany.
