So I see Nonito Donaire is posting on facebook making sure everyone knows that Memo Heredia is the strength and conditioning coach for Arce. He's posting an article about Herdia being linked to doping. We all already know that and so does Donaire. I'm a big fan of Donaire but it seems like he's putting out ready made excuses IN CASE he loses. He should of demanded random drug testing before the fight was signed knowing who Arces strength and conditioning coach was. I just think it's weak of him to start posting that stuff now when the fight is a few days away. Thoughts?
WOW! you really believe BALCO only had 1 chemist working for them?!
then why no mention of heredia? he apparently was at the top of the food chain in terms of supplying PEDs to olympic athletes and coaches like trevor graham..why instead is it another guy who is cited for being the chemist at BALCO?

In the US government's 2008 case against track coach Trevor Graham, stemming from the BALCO scandal, Memo Heredia was labeled "Source A." He didn't get that designation because he came first alphabetically. Heredia was the prosecution's star witness, and he gave up comprehensive documentation showing PED use by stars like Marion Jones, Tim Montgomery, Justin Gatlin and C.J. Hunter. But Heredia wasn't just a random eyewitness; he was caught dead to rights as a steroid dealer and user, and testified to save his own skin.

Two days after Graham’s apparently responsible act of whistleblowing, Jeff Novitsky rifled through garbage belonging to Conte’s laboratory. As part of an IRS investigation into Balco, it was Novitsky’s job to sift through the trash and that evening, he made an extraordinary discovery.
On the same day that Graham had posted off the syringe to USADA, Conte had written a letter to USADA and the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) accusing Graham of systematically doping his athletes and using a Mexican contact to supply the drugs. Given that the letter was in the garbage, it seemed Conte had written it, had second thoughts and not sent it.
Mexican contact being Heredia i assume. so according to this source heredia was a separate contact.
but like i said before...whether he worked for balco or not doesn't matter now. conte isn't living in secrecy like heredia is. conte isn't a chemist responsible for making undetectable peds..plus he did the time he paid the price and i'm sure he knows he doesn't want to go down that path again. unlike heredia who changed his name, lives in secrecy in mexico working with 9 unnamed world boxing champions.
This has gotten ridiculous. Im waiting for soggylungs to come out and say "well it just says he gave them to them but not that he helped them cheat" SMH! :pat:
Bottom line is Conte helped athletes cheat and so did Memo so neither is better than the other no matter if one did 4 months in jail and the other changed his name. So if you are going to accuse then you have to accuse the other. Im all for better testing but you guys are clowns.
Read it with your own eyes from many sites but still dont beilieve. But one article written by one guy on a rumor comes out and of course that is gospel.
thats interesting..on the balco and balco scandal wiki page it never makes mention of heredia. it instead mentions of an Illinois chemist named Patrick Arnold who was the chemist for BALCO.
also from the deadspin article you linked here's an interesting quote:
seems like heredia was mostly doing his own thing.....
but i still don't know why it matters if he really was part of BALCO or not....the fact remains is that the two are no longer associated with each other and conte isn't the chemist responsible for helping create the undetectable drugs nor was he the one who directly instructed olympic athletes on how to cheat their tests....WOW! you really believe BALCO only had 1 chemist working for them?!
Conte told a national audience that he had personally given Jones five different illegal performance enhancing drugs before, during and after the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games.
Since i already know how lazy your are.

Prior to working at BALCO, Angel Heredia was a national discus champion for Mexico.

Then, last week, a bombshell came from BALCO founder Victor Conte. Angel Hernandez is the person formerly known as Angel "Memo" Heredia. Heredia, with a BALCO connection of his own, has been training both Marquez and Bolt under an assumed name.

also from the deadspin article you linked here's an interesting quote:
Mr. Heredia, a former Mexican national discus champion, is a secretive figure on the track circuit who describes himself as a chemist, scientist and nutritionist. The son of a chemist, Mr. Heredia received an undergraduate degree in kinesiology from Texas A&M in Kingsville, records show.
He said he used family connections to pharmacies and labs in Mexico to help his business. For years, Mr. Heredia said, he helped his clients flout the rules and easily avoided detection. Substances like human growth hormone and the blood booster erythropoietin, or EPO, are still virtually impossible to detect, and "it is still easy to use testosterone" with fast-acting creams, he said.
"You combine all these things - boom! - you get amazing results," Mr. Heredia said.

do you have a source that states otherwise? and conte is lying about heredia not working at BALCO? but i thought you said that conte himself said that heredia worked for BALCO?
On December 3, 2004, Victor Conte, the founder of BALCO, appeared in an interview with Martin Bashir on ABC's 20/20. In the interview, Conte told a national audience that he had personally given Jones five different illegal performance enhancing drugs before, during and after the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games.
"Mr. Conte's statements have been wildly contradictory, while Marion Jones has steadfastly maintained her position throughout: She has never, ever, used performance-enhancing drugs." Buts lets believe now?
"It's like taking candy from a baby," Conte said in reference to Jones' never having been found positive in doping controls.
Conte told ABC he designed a program for Montgomery to break the world record that "included illegal activity." Conte said the record was as legitimate as previous ones, implying other records also were achieved through use of banned drugs.
Bay Area Laboratory Co-Operative founder Victor Conte told the federal investigators that Jones and Montgomery received the performance-enhancing substances in exchange for endorsements of his nutritional supplement.
Where are these records that you speak of??? Your clearly talking out of your a$$.... You should just walk away

Conte is the one who snitched on Jones. It was widely known. He even told what she used to cheat and when she took it.
As for the other thing he is lying cause records have shown Memo was a chemist there. Like i said i didnt just start following this cause Memo helped JMM. But with all the hate he is getting i would try to distance myself too and hope some who just heard of Memo would say, like you just did, that he didnt work there
http://www.maxboxing.com/news/max-boxing-news/heredia-vs-conte-more-drug-tests-or-defamation-suits-
It was Victor Conte who first noticed Heredia’s involvement with Marquez while watching an episode of “24/7” last year. The conditioning coach was using the name “Angel Hernandez” and as soon as Conte recognized him, he revealed via Twitter that Memo’s true surname was actually “Heredia.” Conte outlined to this publication the key differences between his own involvement in the BALCO case and that of Heredia.
“In 2005, I pled guilty in the BALCO case to a small quantity of steroid distribution and money laundering. I made a decision not to cooperate with federal law enforcement and/or testify against any others involved in the case. I simply agreed to accept full responsibility for the serious mistakes I had made, which included a sentence of four months in a prison camp and four months of home detention.
“Memo was not actually involved directly in the BALCO case. He decided to become a government witness in a separate perjury case that was brought against Marion Jones’ track coach, Trevor Graham,” added Conte. “Trevor was charged with lying to the lead investigator in the BALCO case, Jeff Novitzky. At some point during the investigation, Memo admitted to prosecutors that he had supplied PEDs to Trevor and his group of elite track-and-field athletes. So he was basically facing drug trafficking and money laundering charges. In short, Memo made a deal with Novitzky to become the government’s star witness against Graham in exchange for leniency. In 2008, Trevor Graham was convicted of perjury and athletes involved lost their championship medals. Although the government knew that Memo had been at the top of a drug distribution chain, he walked free from a potential case in exchange for testifying against a coach and athletes that he had previously sold drugs.”

just two cause there are way to many
he said no because it was already a week or 2 before the fight when it was brought up
The point is that he said no. Bob Arum is on record as saying no to better drug testing for Marquez-Pac 4.
