He's always come to fight and provide some great fights over the years. He's not a trash talker, he doesn't disrespect anybody. He minds his own business.
Is there anything to really dislike about him? He has surely been a great ambassador over the years.
I just can't figure why anyone would dislike and be so spiteful. Leaves a sour taste in my mouth.
A once greater fighter was KO'd, but that's how it goes. An end of an era for a once great fighter. This is boxing. No need to hate.

Wow! Thats cold..im seeing pics all over the place of Manny face planted..on basketball courts, lawns,, grocery stores...wow thats cold.. this man has been a great fighter for so many years..and to see how people can do the man so dirty.. especially when the dude is a good dude..wow!
I guess the thing that bothered me seeing it was.. this.. ive boxed since o was 10 years old and im 35 now.. we know that people die in this sport to simply entertain.. every fight youve seen him in he has come to thump..wrather you thought he won or not.. I just feel he's better than for that to happen..but hey people are people..it says no matter who u are and what youve done..if there is a chance for you to be made fun of..guess what? Your not above it.
when its not fine to ridicule khan, williams or cotto then i will feel bad for pacquiao

Reasons to dislike manny:
1.Weight draining catchweight cheating
2.2 years of lame excuses to not take a random drug test then lies to the press face for 2 years claiming he agreed to everything Floyd wants
3.Waits for 2 years to agree to testing but wants 50/50 even though he don`t make what Floyd makes.
4.Said to Filipinos last year."anybody that feels Marquez won is a sell out, real Filipinos should feel i won".
Such a gracious fighter, regardless of whatever personal feelings you have about recent career choices. He reminds me a lot of Azumah Nelson in terms of demeanor, fighting spirit and national pride. Came from humble beginnings and it still shows to this day--he's made millions and his head has grown (literally and figuratively) but is still warm hearted to all. I don't agree with all of the decisions he made in his career but I also recognize that if he had his way, he probably wouldn't care who was in front of him. His accomplishments make him a living legend and even as I have and will continue to laugh at his deluded base, he is as likable a fighter as any out there.
Fans aside, I think the worst you can say is Pacman is a bit simple. He just looks like a retarded kid (no offense to retarded kids) outside the ring, playing at politician, God-fearing minion, family man. His "talk to my promoter" responses don't help much either. Act for yourself, man!
And did you see that horrible shot when he was playing basketball? Terrible form. Let's not even bring up the dancing...my dead inbred sister-mother can Gangnam style better than that!
i've had a few jokes at his expense in the last 20 hours, but he's one of my favorite fighters of all time.
there's no reason at all to have anything but the greatest measure of respect for manny pacquiao. he's a bonafide great.
i'd prefer to see him retire, but if he fights again i'll buy the ppv without question. it's been a pleasure to watch him fight.
Well if you'd like me to get down to the merits, I have no problem with that.
LET'S GET IT ON!!!
Manny has 40 straight fights against bums. Its shameful padding. Not only that, but 2 of those bums managed to knock Pacquiao out early on.
That means he has only 21 other fights in which to judge him. Of those 21 fights, Manny specifically targeted 6 of his opponents coming off career losses.
The trend is undeniable.
They are DLH, Hatton, Cotto, Clottey, Margarito and Mosley. Two of which were catchweights AND one of which was a vacant title against a then banned cheater.
21-6=15. 15 fights in which to judge Pacquiao.
They are:
1-Barrera
2-Marquez - DRAW
3-Battery
4-Morales - LOSS
5-Velazquez
6-Morales
7-Larios
8-Morales
9-Solis
10-Barrera
11-Marquez
12-Diaz
13-Marquez
14-Bradley - LOSS
15-Marquez - LOSS
Now, outside of those 15 fights, I challenge you to show me a legitimate match not including any catchweights that would serve to enhance the value of Manny Pacquiao's legacy. The 6 that I mentioned were all coming off of career losses and therefore were ranked out of the top three .. the ranked spots that have all to do with legacy.
Like it or not, RANK AND CONDITION OF A FIGHTER'S OPPONENTS ARE ALL THAT MATTERS AS IT PERTAINS TO WEIGHING A LEGACY VALUE.
If anything else were relevant, then opinions would hold weight in a conversation about the merits of legacy. They don't.
I said that to say that Manny Pacquiao's star power comes from three specific matches: DLH, Cotto and Margarito.
Take those three wins away and Manny's biggest wins come over Barrera, Morales and Marquez(2 which are VERY debatable, the last was a robbery).
Now go ahead and make a case for Pacquiao being a superstar without those three wins when you take a good and honest look at the 15 fights he has since first fighting Barrera.
For sure Manny puts on great performances. That's undeniable as well. However great performances do not equal a great legacy when the opposition doesn't warrant the value given to enhance one's legacy.
And there it is.
You are spot on and its not a reason to hate Manny but its just the blasted truth. When you point this out to *******s and state your case why he would not beat Mayweather (the fighter who they claim is scared and fights bums) they just repeat the same cliched nonsense over and over. Im having as much fun as i can with Manny's embarassing loss and idc what anyone here says. Call me a ***** all you like but i can at least admit Floyd has flaws outside his boxing career. If Floyd manages to lose somehow idc he is still a better fighter than Manny according to punch statistics, his obvious visible skills and intelligence in the ring and his 0 losses its just a fact they dont like to hear.
Well then u would dislike 90% of boxers than. Womenizing, gambling, anti homo remarks, typical stuff in boxing and sports in general.
Look at the bottom of my post ''I personally don't dislike Pacquiao''.
Yea but its mostly coming from rapid fans who think Floyd is god, and theres just as many of them
Thats the Irony of it
Its mostly Manny fans that bring up Floyd in the first place. Most of them seem to have no knowledge of the sport or they are just closet racist.
No, he's an awesome guy and awesome fighter who gave boxing more than he could ever recoup. His fans were enthusiastic but with good reason. He is the Hero of Asia.
I don't think anyone dislikes Manny himself. More of his fanbase.
Lets be real, they came too the boxing world in 2009. They disrespected anyone who did not agree with them called Mexicans, Puerto Ricans and especially blacks some horrible things.
All they had to do is defend there points of view with boxing knowledge, instead they took the low road.
To be honest there are a lot of reasons to dislike him. Think about the flack republicans in America receive when they take certain stances towards homosexuality, birth control and religion. Now think about the things he says and how they are glossed over.
Think about how people are normally viewed when they take part in activities that subject animals to cruel treatment and how people are viewed when they sleep around on their wives with hookers.
I personally don't dislike Pacquiao but there are valid reasons to dislike the fella.
Manny is a flawed person, just like any of us. He's a very likable individual, who, despite having the worst fan base ever, still represents his people in the best way possible.
I don't think anyone dislikes Manny. I think they dislike his fans...
A lot of his fans are pretty much equivalent to Lakers fans. Meaning they don't know anything about boxing besides Pacquiao.
This!
Thought I wouldn't necessarily call them his "fans", I've noticed A LOT of people jumping off the bandwagon since last night. Suddenly, the people that were trying to tell me that he "killed" JMM in their last three fights turned and was like, "his career and legacy ain't ****!!!" WTF?!
Are you really 29? Everytime I read one of your post on any topic you're always trying to take a shot at someone who doesn't agree with you. It makes question if you really are 29. Insecure, no?
maybe, maybe not
