At 147, Ortiz would batter him. Not that Vic won't get touched in the process since they both have leaky defense, but Vic can take a punch (a la Berto fight), would weigh something like 165 on fight night, and there is no way Khan could take a clean shot from Vic. Sure, he'll get sh1t about the broken jaw from Lopez, but that was more of fluke than anything - Vic isn't always getting his jaw broken, Lopez isn't always breaking jaws.
GBP plans on putting Khan on April 20th or the 27th on a Showtime date. If Khan wins they want to match him up with Garcia in the fall that is the plan.
Ortiz needs to beat Lopez and Maidana. Would like to see both those fights this year. Maybe even a Berto rematch would be cool to. If Khan vs Ortiz did happen though. I would have to go with Ortiz.
Ortiz would win, he has the power/speed/workrate and inside game to trouble Khan. Khan could potentially win the first few rounds but I see Ortiz catching him with something sooner or later.
Khan is quicker, has a better jab, quicker combinations but everything else I give to Ortiz. Both of them aren't particularly smart fighters either. Once Khan gets tired or gets caught he ends up fighting like an idiot does not clinch/tie up his opponent or move away.
I'd think it would be a fire fight from the get go. But come the 2nd and 3rd rounds I see Ortiz coming on and tagging Khan with clean shots. Khans chin wouldnt hold up to his power and viscous onslaught. KO round 5
im gonna go with khan.
more skills, more speed, more heart and about equal intelligence.
ortiz has more power and a slightly better chin but khan is the better fighter overall. ortiz has a punchers chance but i think khan would whether the storm early and break his will later in the fight.
Being a Khan fan id like to believe he would pull out a decision, but unfortuntely i feel ortiz would KO him. Ortiz has poor heart but until Khan learns to hold when he's hurt then he needs to stay away from big punchers. Ortiz is predictable with the left hand though.
I think Khan will get a Peterson rematch at 140, or the Alexander-Brook winner in May/June at 147.
I'd like to see Ortiz beat Paulie, and than fight Maidana or Guerrero.
I think Ortiz would get the KO. He has real power, quick hands, and good combinations. If it goes the distance then I think Khan would win on points if he was not knocked down.
we don't know how Ortiz chin will be, the thing was cracked to bits (literally) and is being held together with wire, there is a very good chance that a stiff jab breaks it again
Lol it was seperated not cracked into little bits. Trust me as someone who has broken a few bones, it is MUCH better for you to have a clean break than one which consists of multiple cracks and is likely to shatter. I broke my arm nearly 10 years ago, and my bone seperated into two in my arm now all they had to do was open up my arm and fuse the clean break with metal and once they did this, I had a cast on for about 3 weeks and after that I could use my arm again albeit it was weak and it took me about 8 weeks at least to get good strength back into it. Multiple fractures and huge cracks man that's a *****, I fractured my collar bone like 15 years ago and that took longer to heal and was more painful in recovery I'd say than my complete break.
don't see how one single person can make a prediction with any kind of substance
We are talking about a guy with a glass chin vs a mentally incompetent fighter with a surgically repaired chin
who knows
:lol1::lol1:....I like BOTH fighters, Khan alot more though....at the end of the day, it would come down to who breaks first....does Ortiz get to that chin before Khan gets to his heart?!?.....as you said, don't know how anybody can call this....would be a VERY VERY interesting fight imo
it all depends on Kahn , if he can keep his stupidity in check - which he seems to have immense difficulty doing- I think he would win by very wide decision or late tko. If he lets the red mist come down on him he will get stopped - this fight is all about kahn really.
Ortiz drops Khan hard with a perfect left hand and man, he's finished ... just at the count of 10, the towel from Ortiz's corner flies into the ring forcing the referee to call the fight. Ortiz quits after being terrified from seeing Khan asleep on the canvas. Khan is awarded the win while still on his back. Ortiz explains others shouldn't be taking that kind of punishment either, smiles and gives the hang loose sign. jim grey conducts first hortizontal interview with khan
Hahahahahahahahahahah brilliant!
