If pacquiao loses to marquez on saturday he will have lost 2 in a row. 3 in a row to some. And pac has way too many things going for him outside of boxing to keep competing at anything below world class level.
So if he loses this weekend will it be the end of the road for the great manny pacquiao???
Not at all...we have like 3-5 more years of progressive decline ahead of us. If he does retire, the 2-3 comebacks will be pretty hyped and pretty awesome though.
At that point a pacquiao fight would do floyd's legacy more harm than good. One could floyd would be fighting a pacquiao on a 3fight losing streak losing both times to marquez on rop of the bradley debacle. Giving legitimacy to claims floyd shamelessly avoided pac for years. On the other side of it pacquiao would have no bargaining leverage against floyd in negotiations. Dude would not settle for the 10 percent or whatever offensively low split floyd offers
The Bradley debacle is a moot point. Everyone thought PAC won, and that's all that really matters. I guarantee sooner or later Floyd will want the fight, since he also has to keep up with the "money" monecar. Either way, if he never fights Floyd, my point still stands. He can easily collect million dollar pay checks fighting any hot fighter at the time. His fan base will ensure this. He's not so worn down to the point where he seriously has to consider retirement. He just beat an "elite" fighter in Bradley. Its easy pickings in today's boxing land scape. Of course if this was the era of sugar ray/Duran/hearns/benitez, he should definitely retire after a Marquez fight, but its damn sure not. Why not fight some name recognized bums and make foolish bank.
Never say never. I think Floyd might definitely take the fight, if he thinks PAC is on a dramatic decline. Come on man. Endorsements and promotion ain't nothing like a fight night pay check. You see all those 0's, and boxing will keep sucking you back in. Think about all the families he has to take care of, and all the people in his entourage.

Realistically, a loss this weekend kills any hopes of a mayweather fight. he also doesnt need to keep fighting and risking his health to cash in a few multi million dollar checks by.way of endorsements and promoting the other fighters in his stable.

Hell no. He still has potentially a retirement check waiting with Floyd. Can fight whoever's hot at 140, and make crazy money as well. Too many opponents out there. Reasonable fans will just say, Marquez has his number, but PAC still has a few good rights left in him. Think about it. You only get so many chances to cash in on your fighting skills. He's gaurunteed millions for how ever many fights he has left. He'd damn sure regret it, if he didn't cash in a few multi million dollar checks.

To add onto my point. Think about how thirsty fighters act just to get 1 pay day. Imagine if you're guaranteed once in a lifetime type pay days in each and everyone of your up coming fights. I'd milk that **** til the cows came home.
