Jesus this is ugly. I'm a BOXING fan not a UFC/Wrestling fan. This is getting ridiculous with all the clinching/holding. The ref is just letting them get away with it. Guerrero is the one initiating most of the holding too. I hate fights like this.
It actually got a LITTLE bit better after i wrote that post but it was still an ugly fight to be honest. Multiple fouls, Punches behind the head, and grappling most of the match. I don't know why people are saying FOTY. If fans praise that kind of fighting then it will become more and more acceptable and more fighters will be grappling instead of actually boxing. I'll give it to Berto though he showed a lot of heart.
When you think to yourself, "wtf is this crap?", more than 10x, it was an ugly ugly fight. Ugly, ugly, ugly fight. Ugly. Pugly. Fugly. Pug fugly. Atrocious.
I have to agree but I think we got spoiled BIG TIME by Broner's performance last week.
No bro. It was 2 magnets fighting each other. I thought I was watching the ufc.
Holding and hitting last time I check it was against the rules lol. This is your example of a good inside fight? You must have really low expectations...
when they actually worked on the inside it was fine. nothing wrong with it.
It is against the rule but until the ref steps in to do something what do you want them to do?
Decent enough scrap for me. Provided some good entertainment.
Christ didn't realise there were such things as boxing snobs but looks like there is.
Guerrero said it was going to be a fight and that's exactly what he gave us.
I thought it was an entertaining fight. Guerrero was dirty but you have to push the envelope until the ref calls you on it. If the ref lets you hold behind the head then you do it until he tells you to stop. Berto was holding Guerrero's arm as well but that didn't stop Guerrero from working on the inside.
That's what you call a FIGHT.
Great inside fighting. You need a fight like that every once in a while.
If you don't like it, don't watch.

I quite enjoyed it some big shots landed in there. Wasn't a high skill level maybe because of the styles but it certainly wasn't dreadful.
Not FOTY like some people claim but a decent scrap.
Terrible fight.
I don't think I've ever seen a more useless ref lol both knock downs are from holding and hitting it should have been a points deduction. The holding should have been a point deduction lol The headbutts should have been a point deduction.
Berto should have kept hitting this dude behind the head and mix in some elbows for good measure.
Gerrero's a dirtball c class fighter. And it looks like The general consensus is to push him up the ladder because of his hard luck.
Fact is Berto's almost the new Vargas and Gererro... not even sure what to say besides yuck.
I thought I was watching 2 magnets with boxing gloves. Every time they were seperated, I had a glimmer of hope. Just a glimmer. Then the magnets went back to hugging.
That is on Berto for allow it, he allowed himself to get trapped on the ropes and allowed himself to get out-worked
Of course I blame him. He was holding every time they were close. Same with Guerrero. Ugly, ugly fight!
absolutely agree.
kellerman must have gotten a bonus from al haymon or somebody from hbo.
dude was hyping this fight as if its the second coming of hearns hagler.
it was ugly, foul filled, and amateurish featuring two gatekeepers.
i thought it was awful :lol1:
their saying that it was on the level of rios vs alverado.
what a joke........both of these guys were hugging & looked very mid core.
Yeah that was an awful fight to watch. Fouls galore, punches behind the head, low blows, holding and hitting, headbutts....that ref was God awful. I am shocked Guerrero held up taking those uppercuts though, respect to him. However, if he fights Floyd like that he is taking a loss, that was way too slow and sloppy. Mad props though to Guerrero, but part of this was Berto, not sure what happened to his chin but once again, just like the Ortiz fight, hurt in the 1st round and never recovers fully. I think Berto's about done to be honest, that was a pretty crap performance from him. Guerrero kept coming in the same way each time and Berto could not do anything about it.
Once again, not taking away from Guerrero but I still do not see him beating Floyd.
