Im gonna have to go Berto here by tko even though I dont like him. Too big, fast and strong. I dont see Guerrero with the pop to keep Berto off.
Midget Aydin looked stronger than Guerrero.
I am leaning towards Berto. I personally think Guerrero is overall a better fighter but he has jumped so many weight classes that it takes away from that. I have a few questions about how Berto has recovered from his first loss but Guerrero probably lacks the power at welterweight to test that. My pick would be Berto by decision.
The most likely outcomes in order for me is:
Berto by KO
Guerrero by decision
Guerrero by KO
Berto by decision
Berto should be able to overcome the skill differential by landing hard shots on The Ghost. Guerrero has been hurt and discouraged by much smaller men, and Berto is one of the better punchers at welterweight. I wouldn't be surprised if Berto gave away the fight though.
Guererro is susceptible to the right hand so it's definitely a danger.
Berto may be very limited but the two things he does have is power and speed.
It all depends if Robert can take his punch, IMO.
Guerrero's gonna make the mistake of trying to go toe to toe.
Watch for Berto's right hand to the left side of Guerrero's body, immediately followed by the right uppercut to stagger Guerrero. Berto's overhand right is what will end it.
That's my prediction.
TKO between 6 and 8 :boxing:
I like the lead right for berto sat night. Im waiting for the weigh-in to place my bet though.
Everyone has this beef with bertos stamina, but he's shown stamina is fights before. One time it was a problem. Maybe he disnt train hard enuff that time.
Goin with Berto by KO, many are talking about Berto and stamina problems yet he was able to go 12 hard brutal rounds with Victor Ortiz, a Big strong full welterweight puncher unlike Guerrero. He did have shakely legs going down the stretch but he was able to finish the fight on his feet.. Same in the Luis Callazo fight.. He wont have that much of a problem with Guerrero because and I think his size will make the difference in the fight.. Not to mention he is extremely hungry and has be in excellent shape for months the best I've ever seen him!
Berto starts off fast and thinks he will make short work of the Ghost but shows signs of fatigue after the first round due to his exertion. He pulls it back a bit for the next 2 rounds and then tries to attack heavily again and he again shows signs of fatigue.
Guerrero remains evasive and works the jab as Berto attacks. Berto pins Robert against the ropes but gets tagged while trying to fight inside. By round 5 or 6, Berto is looking somewhat tired in general and only attacks near the end of the round trying to steal it away from the more active Guerrero.
By round 8, Guerrero is pressing the action heavily and he starts to drive Berto into the ropes and is bullying the bigger man. When rounds 11 and 12 roll around, Berto is completely spent and just hoping to make the final bell.
Guerrero wins a SD because two of the judges have him winning 8 or 9 of the rounds while one judge has Berto winning the fight. Questions come up regarding Berto taking Guerrero seriously and overlooking him for a Floyd fight, he denies it and says the layoff played no factor.
May of next year, Floyd wants Guerrero as an opponent.
I voted Berto by KO. I don't think Guerrero belongs at 147. He would make a good lightweight and maybe beat Broner. Berto is a stong welterweight. Berto has an average chin but I don't think Guerrero has the power to really hurt him. Berto is a fast hard puncher. If Guerrero can stay on his feet all 12 rounds he could win on points with good boxing and stamina.
Hes got rid of the ring rust & is bigger for this fight, he is a legit welterweight now. Berto will rehydrate something ridiculous no doubt but Guerrero actually looked the bigger man at the face off.
That doesnt mean stronger though...he's a natural lw still and only in his second fight at ww. Berto's a natural ww. Used to taking we shots and hitting ww's
I hope guerrero outboxes him though. I dont consider guerrero a better inside fighter than collazo though and berto hung with and beat collazo on my card by winning the last round of a fairly grueling fight
I hadnt seen Aydin fight since Said Ouli but i think it showed the guerrero isnt a strong ww

'midget Aydin' is a very compact strong fighter, Guerrero was going up two divisions and had a long layoff.
I think Berto will start off fast but I have little faith in his gas-tank and I think his footwork is horrific, he is top-half heavy. If he hasn't got Guerrero out of there within 6 he is in trouble IMO and will get outboxed from then on out.
I don't think people realise how good Guerrero is, especially inside. His inside game is very underrated, he tore Aydin up inside, Katsidis too. Very subtle, intelligent fighter.

Midget Aydin looked stronger than Guerrero.i got Berto by KO as well. I think his explosiveness will be Guerrero's bane.
