Who do you guys think are the best fighters in the last 10 years?
These are mine in no particular order:
Mayweather
Pac
Marquez
Hopkins
De La Hoya
Morales
Barrera
Roy Jones
Tito
Cotto
Probably Calzaghe but i dunno if he's better than Cotto on the ATG list
Calderon and Mosley over Barrera and Morales....yea that makes no sense
I don't value then as much as I should, even if I'm Mexican. Just the image of Pac beating the dog s hit out of then was too strong for me to consider them over Shane or especially Calderon. Neither of them were as good as Calderon imo... Popular and fan friendly? Of course, especially since they are greatly tied to each other. P4p, neither beats Mosley or Calderon (imo of course) so there's that.
Cotto? Wasnt even the best Puerto rican last decade... I'd add Ivan Calderon to the list easily. In no order
K Bros
Floyd
Pac
Shane
JMM
B Hop
Ivan Calderon
Kostya Tszyu
Oscar (I don't care here, he was still mostly competitive and a massive influence)
I can't bring myself to bring Morales nor Barrera into the top 10. Not when Pac and JMM are already there. Winky also beat Shane so out of spite I wont add him lol
Calderon and Mosley over Barrera and Morales....yea that makes no sense
yea but i think naseem retired too soon
I just noticed that pac beat 5 people on that list lol
Hamed lost interest in his last few years. I saw him repeatedly say that his hands were going on him. He had very serious hand trouble, well known at the time, but overlooked by many these days. His knuckles used to swell enormously after fights, looked grotesque. He often broke bones. I remember that when Wayne McCullough managed to survive the full fight after taking an enormous beating, the reporters regarded it as a miracle, since Hamed's record at that time was 30-0 with 28 KOs. He was a beady-eyed destroyer.
I don't think that Cotto can be put on the same level as Trinidad. Trinidad was unbeatable until the Hopkins fight. He just didn't know how to lose. Either he was upset by the 9/11 catastrophe after which the fight was postponed and he spent the time helping to clear rubble, or...he just took a step too far.
I think it's a digital decade from 2000-2010, unless a particular starting year is specified.
And the other lost his urge, went on vacation, and his health came first when being faced to fight PAC.
The one who lost his urge fought 4 times only this last 5 years (2 of the 4 Pac beat the hell out them while the other 2 were weight cheated and sucker punched by someone to ensure his victory) compares to Pacquiao who fought 11 times in the same 5 years. And yet some still put him above Pacquiao for the above reason. LMAO

and yet most boxing experts say Mayweather is the better fighter
yea but i think naseem retired too soon

You got 8 out of 10, but you made two horrible mistakes. I realize that you might be thinking of their achivements during the 90's and early 2000's so you just included them,
But 'of the decade' is 2002-2012? Correct. Last ten years.
1-ROy Jones Jr was pretty much shot by 2007(might even be 2006) so it is virtually impossible to include him on that list.
He had wins over Woods,Ruiz, and Tarver. Impressive wins no doubt, but he was also beaten or knocked out by a variety of fighers ranging from Tarver and Johnson to Calzaghe/Green.
He literally lost 40% of his fights during the last decade, so how can you possibly include Roy as a top 10 fighter of the decade.
His best win this last decade was John Ruiz or maybe Tarver I.
I think you are thinking of 90's Roy.
2- Felix Trinidad?
He had one big win the entire decade, he was pretty much retired. He had like 2 comebacks and lost to Wright and Jones. He was done by 2004. His decade once again was during the mid 90's to early 2000's.
It's virtually impossible to say Roy and Tito are top 10 from 2002-2012.
Other than that, very good list.
thanks, yea i added roy and tito based on their greatness not really on accomplishments in the last decade, i just didnt know who else to put lol my bad i should've added the klits
The ten best fighters of the past ten years:
(fall of 2002 to fall of 2012)
Floyd Mayweather
Marco Antonio Berrera
Wladimir Klitschko
Vitali Klitschko
Bernard Hopkins
Manny Pacquiao
Joe Calzaghe
JM Marquez
Erik Morales
Miguel Cotto
Yea thats a better list than mine, i forgot to add the klitschkos, they should've been on the list instead of tito and jones since they didnt do anything these past ten years
yea but i think naseem retired too soon
I just noticed that pac beat 5 people on that list lol
yeah, i think he only had 1 fight in the last ten years! dropped a bollock there!
not a bad list that, id maybe swap cotto or tito for naseem hamed.
yea but i think naseem retired too soon
I just noticed that pac beat 5 people on that list lol
