Now, some people believe Floyd ducks pacquiao because he is afraid of losing. I, on the other hand believe something else.
IMO Floyd is not ducking the fight but rather refuses to give Manny money. The hate for Manny and arum is soo strong that he refuses to let them have the biggest payday ever. And I believe may weather would beat pacquiao. If that were the case then it would make sense that if you're my enemy and I have terrible relations with arum whom I also hate I will come up with every excuse in the book to not give you the money generated if you fight me. **** everybody else's opinion my main concern is hurting you in your pocket. Bottom line PAC/Arum can make money fighting other guys but **** that. Im not giving you absolutely any opportunity to get the biggest payday ever by fighting me!
I don't think Floyd hates Manny, if he wasn't connected with Arum Floyd would want the bigger piece of the pie but really what guy has Floyd had an issue giving their biggest ever payday so I don't see why he would start having that issue with Manny.
Now with Arum they have some long standing beef, including Floyd suing Arum for owing him money which to my knowledge has never been settled. That sort of stuff is tough to overcome especially as sides become settled in their ways. I wouldn't want a guy who I feel owes me money to make money off me~

I kind of agree. Floyd called out Pac before the JMM fight, but after the fight Floyd was WAY more anxious to fight him. Floyd knew Pac wasnt a threat, and Floyd was serious about fighting him. Then Arum says, "I will give Floyd his guarantee of 40 mil if he gives me some of his revenue" That INSULTED Floyd's intellect. You think Floyd needs you to give him his side, and your using low numbers like 40 mil? Then Floyd countered with giving Pac 40 mil, with NO revenue. I believe it was ego and hate. After that, it was no way Floyd would fight him. Im flat out saying Floyd is the reason the fight isnt happening, but not because of fear because Pac isnt a threat anymore. And Floyd was noticably not bothered by pac, once that JMM fight took place.
I feel you, i think that has a large part to play in why Floyd hasn't pushed for this fight.
The counter to that would be that Floyd is in the last stage of his career and it appears he won't have much value outside the ring when he is done. No endorsements to speak of and not a corporate friendly personality. Plus we all know he burns through money like no other. Rumors are that the only he came back to fight Marquez was because he owed ODL a lot of money due to his tax issues and didn't have a choice.
Pacquiao on the other hand is a media darling and will be in high demand long after he retires. Outside of the possibility of him being exposed as a steroid cheat he will have opportunites as long as he likes. Not to mention the fact that he could be a future President of the Phillipines and be set for life.
It stands for good reason that Floyd should take the fight now as he can't make the same amount of money fighting anyone else and may regret it in a few years if he doesn't make the fight merely out of spite. JMHO.
Whenever the powers that be in boxing want to pull the trigger on this fight it will get made. Until then, everyone is eating off these two.
There are tons of people who will be involved with this whether it be the powers within boxing, the magnates in Vegas, diplomats in the Philippines, random business executives who will be putting up capital, etc...all of these people have to come together and "OK" the fight...I know it sounds like a vast conspiracy but everyone wants in on the cash grab so it's taken a while for everyone to figure out how they will politic their way into the event. I've actually enjoyed the ride and still have a lot of confidence it does happen as long as these other younger fighters continue to rise and will be there to sustain boxing once the big fight is over.
With some additional names in the mix now, the likelihood of this fight happening is much better than it was in 2009-10 because there are others who A) will be there to fight the winner and B)be ready to take the "torch" if they beat either legitimately.
No, don't think he hates him either, Pacquiao doesn't have the same hype or aura around, he's won a questionable decision while "losing" another one. Last great performance was in 2010, while Floyd on the other hand has continued to dominate. Also, some of Manny's PVP numbers have not been officially released, in the end the fight isn't happening so why should I care? I think Floyd raised some interesting questions.
LOL
you do realize that pac is a millionaire himself? why would he desparate for money when he's the more active fighter (fighting more per year) easily offsetting what he could have earned vs mayweather
this is really reaching tbh.
you are saying he's willing to let people call him a duck/chick just to spite arum/pacman? and he hates them because.... he thinks pacman could beat him?
see how easy i could reason how floyd is to blame for this fight not happening
Pac is a millionaire but he's not holdin' like you think. He tricked off a lot of money and he needs fights in actuality. He said this himself.
I think there's lots of issues at Floyd's end:
- Fear of losing the 0 (although this probably isn't so important now given Manny's last few fights)
- Hatred for Bob Arum
- Ability to make huge money whoever he fights
LOL

The reaction to this should be good on here...

Not to mention he does have the after effects of using PEDs. Look at Fernando Vargas and Shane Mosley post PEDs, they weren't the same. Although Shane has some performances and glimpses of greatness post PEDs, he wasn't the same fighter. The difference was Shane is a weight lifter so he could rebuild some of the loss strength. Manny is not a weight lifter and he has the tell-tale signs of post PEDs. I've seen it time and time again when I was playing college football; the difference of guys being on and off PEDs.
I think Floyd wants to force this issue and make a statement to the boxing world that this guys is a cheater. Of course, he isn't the only one. Fighters are often given PEDs to heal injuries and not necessarily to gain a in-the-right advantage. For example, Jame Toney, Peterson, and Berto. When Ben Johnson torn his hamstring before the 88 Olympics he went on drugs too. This is just known that certain PEDs heal connective tissue rapidly.
I'm not Floyd the person fan, but I am a fan of his boxing skills and I support him on making the fight a big money fight as well as forcing the testing in the fight. The more we wait, the bigger the fight will be.
