No one has said it yet! Let me be the first, Adrian Broner will be p4p the best at 140. Rio's is just another brawler with no skill or defense. The punishment he recieved in his last fight was proof. He was hurt twice in his last fight. Broner will stop him at 140. Garcia is more of a threat to Broner, but I feel Broners defense and speed will off set Garcias power. Broner will take away Garcias left hook with over hand rights.
What do you guys think?
Broner looks so good all the time because he hasn't fought anybody. Watch the DeLeon fight, there you'll see he doesn't look so good. So my point is that when he faces better competition he wont look as good as he has lately. Rios is underrated and would bring the pain.
We'll see in the DeMarco fight, he's been getting better every fight. Rios is overrated IMO. His skill set is underrated because most people he feels he has absolutely 0. Imo he's a poor boxer, but a big punch/chin is what he brings to the table. Him being mentioned as Pacs next opponent makes him vastly overrated imo, because some people are considering it to be a good fight...
Im going to agree with most on this thead and say Broner beats Rios handily. He's crafty, good defense, and works the roll well...also packs a pretty solid punch. Rios on the other hand is just an exciting come forward fighter, who isn't really upper teir at all. Garcia on the other hand, is better and just about anything over rios, can box at different ranges, and has solid pop. I think by the time Garcia and Broner fight...if they do... it'll be a great match-up.

Rios has underrated skill and Broner I haven't seen him tested like he will be if he fights Rios to know if his flashy style gets turned into mush under intense pressure and heavy hooks to the body and head non-stop. I'm backing Rios for now
Garcia and Broner makes sense,I'm not sold on either yet, make it happen and make me a fan
Couldn't have said it better myself.

Broner ain't nothing but a hype job. He hasn't fought anybody yet and people are saying he's going to be the p4p best someday give me a break! Let's see how he does against DeMarco first, then we can talk. I even got Guerrero beating this guy to take away that 0.
This is why he reminds me of, don't kill me, a tad bit of Duran.
Please don't compare Rios to Duran, Manos de piedra at his best never took a flush shot, he was faster and will roll with the punch, rios has a granite chin but he is a Gold glove, he catch everything and will lose every time against a boxer that can take a shot or two like Abril, Duran could box with the best of them...
PS. I do think that he could ko Broner, for some reason I think that AB will fold under pressure and he will not be able to stay away all night, maybe I'm a little bias.
rios yea
garcia maybe
he needs more fights... hes coming along fine the people who say he hasnt fought anyone are idiots hes 23 and an up and comer getting a feel for his style against other styles while making a little money before he steps up in competition...
That's perfectly fine to do...... B4 u get a title
Not when it pertains to completely evading a shot, but minimizing the effect of punches, he DOES THAT a lot. If he didn't then he would have never beaten Acosta or Alvarado. It's a good thing Roy saw Rios' skill.
I don't know about all that but I agree that rios isn't completely unskilled.
his face always suggests he doesn't. now I know we can't expect floyd/sweet pea stuff, but I respectfully disagree that he is moving his head that much.

He does and he does it a lot.

Of course he gets hit flush its only inevitable when you're going toe to toe, BUT he does keep a high guard and catches alot of shots on his gloves, he also parrys shots and rolls with shots. Not making him out to be a defensive wizard or anything just saying he has underrated defense
look at his eyes and his face after a fight. they tell a different story.
I think its somewhere in the middle. but i'd like to see some more torso movement.
very true. it seems the newer generation of fans (post tyson) seem overly concerned with power and less concerned with boxing skill and what it ttakes to really win a fight.
That said I don't botice that Rios has this level of skill. The inside punches land very flush, i don't see him moving his head with the punch to lessen the effect.

I'll believe it when I see it.
Kid needs to beat top competition before this kind of talk.
