His hype is worse than Clevery's, clearly. His fight tonight proved nothing against an unproven fighter no one has even heard of. Hope Paulie knocks this fool out after he's done with Cano.
HYPED HOW?
He is a up and coming fighter that is working his way to the TOP, he wasn't handed and Belt and Stardom then PROTECTED like SOME FIGHTERS!
What you just said here proves the hype, he hasn't worked his way to the "top" he's worked his way to becoming a contender. Last I checked being a contender was not the top of the sport.
Or how about people in this thread talking him up? There's a post right above yours calling him a top 5 guy 147. Are you kidding me?
Yes, the kid has talent, but he is just a contender fighting fringe level competition. Can we wait til he fights a top guy before we call him the next superstar of boxing like all the British fans are claiming on NSB right now?
See, if you'd of read the initial comment properly then you wouldn't look like such a dumbass with your reply.
I highlighted the words in bold for you....
Thread starter bet me that Matthew Hatton would KO Brook :lol1:
That still hurts :grumble:
I gotta admit after last night, I had Paulie losing a close decision. Hmm
Nobody even knows who Brook is or was till 8 months ago, a lot still don't know who he is now, People just like to post crap a lot of the time without any knowledge.
Cant say i have followed malignaggi career ! But i cant imagine he has stopped many people. No chance he stops Brook. In fact i would put money on Brook stopping Malignaggi. Brook for me is probably the most complete Boxer to come out of the UK for a long time. Only Time will tell how good he will be.
That's the thing, ability. I want a guy to prove himself before I put him up there.
Agreed and Brook intends to. He's definitely a top prospect but I think gmc's a little premature. Who knows though, he may be proven right.
I wouldn't disagree with that, if people want to reserve judgement until he's fought for world titles and the likes then it's a sensible stance to take.
I don't deny that I'm a big Kell Brook supporter. I've been very much sold on his talent since the first time I saw him years ago and nothing has changed, I believe he has the ability to be the man at 147 when 'the big two' decide to hang them up.
My views have been clear on Kell for some time. Whether they are proved right or wrong, only time will tell.
Haha exactly! I wasn't sure if the guy was serious but he paid me the e-points afterwards. He's talking about Paulie KO'ing Brook in the opening post, so if that fight ever gets made I'm gonna be all over that bet haha.
Has he beaten anyone reputable at 147? Abregu?
Bradley would be a favorite against Brook but it's almost all on account of what he's achieved at a weight class below.Unless there's some clear indication that Bradley is a diminished fighter at 147, which I don't think there is, then I don't see any reason why he shouldn't be considered a good level above Brook. He's mixed it with the better opposition by a wide margin (including the elite at 147 in Pacquiao) and there are fewer lingering questions about him than there are Brook.
We have a pretty good idea how Bradley matches up against the field at 147, but like I said, we need to see Brook fight an Alexander or a Bradley level opponent to truly gauge where he's at.
I like Brook. I think he has potential.
He just needs to step up and hopefully he will if he get's the Alexander fight.
The one fight he stepped up remotely higher he struggled so I'm still not sold on him.
Forgetting Ring rankings and who's currently campaigning at welterweight, realistically all of those guys apart from Mike Jones are ahead of Brook at 147. You "suppose" you can have Bradley higher? C'mon, he's been beating top level competition for years.
Brook may be ranked 3rd by Ring, but we're not going to know how legitimate he is until he fights somebody like Alexander or Bradley. I suspect he's probably a slight step behind Alexander and 2 good steps behind Bradley right now, but he's not as far off as some in this thread are making out.

And what 5 are ahead of him?
Manny is a given.
Floyds at 154 is he not?
Suppose you can have Bradley though he got a gift.
Guerrero - Though only one fight at welter against Aydin.
Alexander - Only 1 fight at 147 against Maidana.
Paulie Malignaggi - Handful of fights against mainly top 20 guys, not beat a top 10.
Maidana - Two fights, one a loss to Alexander and a win over Soto Karass
Mike Jones - Not fought anybody except Bailey where he got brutally knocked out.
Ortiz is out of the arguement, noway even a top 10.Forgetting Ring rankings and who's currently campaigning at welterweight, realistically all of those guys apart from Mike Jones are ahead of Brook at 147. just cause they show his fights means they have to lie? they have no integrity. Why can't they be more like HBO, right? Those pillars of integrity never overhype the guy who can make them the most money.
sky is hyping him hard. "HE IS THE REAL DEAL!" "HE HAS FREAKISH POWER" just some of the quotes after he knocked out a complete bum and they pretend like his last fight never happened now that the bum was destroyed.Wow, you mean to say that a television network who have a vested interest in Kell Brook are hyping him up? How did you uncover this mystery? Thank god we've got somebody as sharp as you on the case.

He is Top 5-10 in the Welterweight Division, what is wrong with that? You act as if they are saying he is Top 5 P4P
I don't consider that "HYPE", the HYPE comes from the Media and Networks then the FANS, Kell Brook is not even being hyped up that much compared to so many other fighters who haven't done SH1T yet in boxing
