It is sad that a putrid fighter with a putrid style 3 years ago is still the best thing England has 3 years later.
No wonder these blokes think Calzaghe is an ATG. They practically consider Hatton one. Calzaghe is top 10 in that case.
Marquez too hes a counter assassin. He counters your combinations with lethal accurate pin point shots. I think that's another war we missed out on. Would lean towards Marquez but thats just 2 people i think could beat him besides his losses already.
The top 5 at 140-147 the last 5-7 years is
Floyd
Marquez
Pac
Cotto
Hatton
Far from subpar.

Where does Mosley fit in I think he would KO Ricky 140-147 , the night Cotto and Mosley met , either of them beat Hatton .
Ortiz was #2 at ww,prime and coming off of a huge win.........just saying
yeah that was a great win for sure...ortiz was only 2 because floyd wasn't in the rankings at that time. so when floyd fights someone ranked 2 it looks more impressive than it really is because he would be 3 if floyd wasn't so inactive. it's also the opposite for pac. he will fight a guy ranked 3 or 4 but the first 2 are him and mayweather and the other guy he's already beaten so he's really fighting the best guy available because we know floyd won't fight him. is floyd fighting the best guy available if he's fighting guys ranked 2? nope. great spin though.

Y esto no es vacilon..

Ok so he couldn't beat two of the best fighters in the world. He's far from a sub-class boxer.
The man lives of his one upset. Over a 36 year old Tszyu who announced his retirement in the ring that night.
He had two more legitimate opponents the rest of his career. He ended both of those fights on his back. I hate Pacquaio and I legitimately thought he killed Ricky in that fight. I actually thought I was witnessing death in the ring. Thank god that wasn't the case.
Ricky Hatton is an overweight, alcoholic glutton who has one of the most unwatchable styles in boxing of the past half century. He has fans because Brits love boxing (which is good) and Brits have no boxers to be proud of (which is bad).
Over the past week or two people have been talking about Ricky like he walked away from the sport at the top of his game and now he is coming to regain his throne. Ricky gave his all to the sport, true, but Ricky left with nothing. Which is what he remains today, which is how he will be viewed in boxing's analogues. Tough shit.
Pacquiao and mayweather both do that.
If they aren't fighting ruined names they are dragging fighters up in weight or draining them.
How many times in recent years has either of them fought top 1 or 2 guys at their own weight class who were in their prime and not coming off recent losses?

Floyd has never forced a fighter to come down , and that little fact make a huge difference when comparing Manny and Floyd , going up will never hurt you going down will , if you understand that , and its a fact ! then you can understand what Manny has done .
Again you say " at their own weight class " but fail to see the difference between going up and down , Floyd goes UP to their best weight and where Manny ducks the same guy , and the only smaller fighter Floyd has fought came UP .
Manny goes UP himself and forces bigger men DOWN , he then forced smaller men JMM and Bradley to come UP , yet refuses to fight Cotto at Cottos weight even though Cotto is the same man , what Manny is saying is he beat the weight not Cotto ,
If you cant see Mannys manipulation of weight to always favor himself then your as blind as post .
Dude he only loss to Floyd and Manny. So he's not in their class, who else is? Prime Hatton would be champ right now. Garcia, Khan and Bradley would all get worked, khan KTFO. Only person at 140 that i think could beat him is Mathysse whos pretty much undefeated i thought the judah fight was a draw.
I cant stand European fighters but Hatton was alil beast.

Ricky is the best and is on a world wide come back.. All of you who think that Hatton would've lost to Cotto before Margacheato are on my sh1t list and will get banned because your not down with Pretty Ricky..
PRPP :argue:
sub class boxer?! how many sub class boxers win fighter of the year? how many sub class boxers win 4 titles in 2 divisions? how many sub class boxers own a division for 4 years?
hatton was never the best, but he was very good.
And id also like to point out that he wasnt scared of fighting pacman, unlike the guy you rate as p4p the best.
You were going good until you started with the fanboy crap , Arum chose Hatton because he suited Pac ideally and was shot to sheeet after the Floyd demoralizing loss he built a coke habit , Lascano nearly beat him and Pauli was a gimme win , just as Jennings was a gimme win for Cotto , this is what Arum does , after devastating loses and when a fighter is mentally frail Bob then sets up some soft wins just to make winning form so Pac looks like he beat an in form name fighter , the rort stands out like dog balls , Manny is a WW hype job , an elite fighter yes , but a WW made to order hype job .
Ricky Fatton at his best 140 lbs would've got mopped by Cotto.

IDIOT
Haha youre such a moron.
Hatton was an exciting fighter to watch. Calling him sub par is stupid. When a fighter can make it to the top 10 and then become a world champion, he has done something very few ever achieve. Out of thousands of 140 pound fighters in the world, to make it to the top 10 is an achievment alone.

Hattons biggest problem was that he forgot to slip the punches, just rolling straight in was never going to work...
He does great work on the inside..
If he slows down a bit learns to slip punches and work on his footwork I think he has a good chance of coming back.. If I don't see any of these very basic improvements in November then he is doomed..
Trust me
Hatton is a glorified club fighter with *****loads of fans, Not all of us brits sucks his as*, We the real boxing followers know his limits and never really rated him to be anything other than that..
