Donaire vs Nishioka?

If Nishioka is consitent with the jab he's going to win. Donaire has power but it isn't the same like when he was fighting Flyweights. I think the Vazquez fight created somewhat of a blueprint and Mathebula kept him at the end of the jab, Donaire needs to fix that because he gets hit too much with that jab. Ideally Donaire by UD or late TKO if Nishioka's age catches up to him.

Donaire, sd or ud or late ko. A good hard fight. Would'nt surpise me if Donaire gets an earlier ko, though.

Hard to say. Nishioka was battling out an epic rivalry with HOF bound bantamweight great Sahaprom for the 118 world title before Doniare had even begun his pro career! He's getting close to his 20th year as a pro and is now 36 years old and coming off the longest lay off of his career. He had been talked about retiring too before this. That, to me, signals someone who is tired of fighting and struggles to keep up the necessary work and training. It's completely understandable of course, the guy has been at the top and fighting the best for a very long time and has only recently had any recognition of his skill out of Japan. Anyway, Donaire usually gets up for the big ones, but I think it comes down more to how good Nishioka still is and how he will handle the age, lay off and how sharp he will be. I can definitely see Nishioka winning a decision, but it's a real pick 'em for me. I personally would like Nishioka to win, as I think he deserves a spectacular win to go out on. Donaire has plenty of time left and a long career ahead of him still. I guess my heart says Nishioka, but my head says he's just a bit far past it to beat a prime, peak Donaire. We'll see. This is however, the best card of the whole year in my opinion. You have one of the most skillful battles with these two and we have what may end up as the brawl of the year. It doesn't get any better than Nishioka/Donaire and Rios/Alvarado on the same card. :boxing::luvbed: It does... Having Salido-Garcia on there!

It's very possible Doanaire gets a great KO. With age creeping up on Nishioka he has been getting hit a lot more lately than ever before. He's also looked quite bored and unmotivated in all but his biggest recent fights and makes silly mistakes because of it. One very possible outcome is that he gets caught with a counter left hook backing out of an exchange with his right hand down which he has a bad tendency to do. It'll come down to what type of shape nishioka is in and how motivated he can still be at 36. Donaire will definitely be up for it so we won't see the unmotivated version of him luckily.

I would say Donaire by decision because he's knocked down fighters at 122 but no Knockouts at 122.

Donaire. He needs opponents this great to show how excellent he truly is. Donaire is a little underrated IHMO at this particular point. People haven't been impressed by his last few performances but I'm not confused or mistaken about his abilities. He'll put on a show against the great Nishioka.

I'm taking Nishioka based on my like for the guy. I wouldn't really be surprised either way.. anyhow it's a big test for Donaire... should be a good fight no matter how it turns out.

Donaire by spectacular KO. Nothing against nishioka, but donaire steps it up against elite competition.

I got a feeling Donaire will knock Nishioka out cold. I know it's been a while since he scored a KO but the guys who went the distance with him keep their hands up most of the time. Nishioka has a low right hand and he drops it after he jabs, I see Donaire countering with his left hook over the jab and putting Nishioka down and out.
