does he have the footwork to box on his toes like ali?
just imagine alvarado floating like a butterfly and stinging like a bee from the outside ha ha i cant imagining that happening
I think it's almost CERTAIN we get at least 3 rounds of PURE WAR being waged.
I mean, neither of these guys can fight going backwards, nor do they even care to try to "box" off the back foot. Well, Alvarado has shown tendencies to be complament at times, and not press the action (Prescott fight). But Rios is ALWAYS coming forward, banging away.
There's always the possibility of an early stoppage in a fight like this. One guy getting flurried out on the ropes, and ref having to jump in.
I'm actually picking ALvarado here, though. I think he's bigger, stronger, and even slightly more technical on the inside than Rios. He can generate some serious leverage on his short, inside uppercuts, and hooks.
yeah u touched upon some good points there i dont want that to happen i just want at least 6 rounds of pure war
show us a pic of him fucked up, for someone who eats all the punches people say he does he has never been marked up.
amazing
Rios' face looks fucked up to begin with so that's not really fair.
it's going to be boring. rios will get up on his toes and outbox alvarado easily. rios does have the feet to be fleet-footed!

I have Maidana vs Karass as fight of the year so far.
Lets see how this one plays out.
Good fight but JuanMa Salido II is still FOTY. It also had the ROTY until the 12th of Sergio Jr

amazing
good point never really have seen rios ****ed up
I think there is a good chance Alvarado will use his superior boxing ability to avoid a tear up.
He can either box and can comfortably almost guaranteed come out with the win or he can make it hard on himself. I don't think hes going to fight to Rios strength and pretty much the only way he knows how, hes better than that.
Alvarado isn't the one trick pony people think he is.
Excellent analysis.
Alvarado can be a decent boxer if he wants to, or he can brawl. Rios, on the other hand has no choice but to brawl, because that's all he is accustomed to doing.
Alvarado could box to a 12 round decision or beat Rios up over 5, but my point is that he has a choice, unlike Bum Bum.
there is no way in hell mike alvarado boxes for 12 rounds.
rios is available to be hit. throughout his entire career alvarado has been conditioned to believe that he can end fights and stop opponents if they're available to be hit.
he won't pass up the opportunities rios' style affords him. not for 12 rounds. eventually he'll get a taste of how easy it is to hit rios, and he won't be able to resist opening up.
bump the thread if i'm wrong. alvarado doesn't appear to me to have temperament needed to stay disciplined with another aggressor by nature
Rios will stop him late.
Why?
Rios has way better defense then Alvardo, Alvardo just gritts his fights out, every fight he in a war no matter what. Rios make you think he in a war but he really is not, he nice with his inside work, he dodge like 80% of the punches thrown at him.
Where Alvarado eats them flush.
yeah hes smart but hes drawn into a brawl to easy imo he will win but it will be tough work the first few rounds
I was so hype for Gonzales vs De Leon and i actually believe this would be a FOTY and the fights actually sucks.!! i hope Rios vs Alvarado dont dissapoint me.!!:boxing:
As long as it doesn't end like the Molina/DeMarco fight that ended early this should be a fun affair to watch
yeah thats a possibility it could get stopped early for either guy tho i think the ref will be a little more lenient with rios
