Maravillamania in Argentina

Sergio reminds me of Marvin Hagler in thathewas't pushed or groomed to be a big name. He did it the hard way, by beating everyone up and the fame they both got are well well deserved. Yeah nice to see a legit great fighter getting the exposure for a change. Good for him he deserves it! Hes on magazines and being cheered while Chavez has become a punchline and disgrace to Chavez name. All is right in boxing for the moment. Exactly what I wanted this fight to accomplish.

An Argentine member posted an interview with Martinez a few days ago. I commented, "Sergio must be a rock star in Argentina right now." He didn't respond. Judging from these magazine covers and your comments, I see I was right! Martinez is firing on all cylinders. Argentina is full of beautiful women; it must be great to be "Maravilla" nowadays! :lol1: Isn't Maravilla gay?

So now we can finally put the "Martinez is gay" rumor and suspicion to rest? you never know , she could be sergio's "miss jackson".....paid to eliminate suspiscion ..

Martinez is a blessing for today's boxing we need real champions , who don't fear loss , and bring justice to sport he is good looking , not in sexy way , but like University professor who won a noble prize his life story is amazing to read , inspiring for young children , his attitude towards women is a role model for every athlete during his career for me he is perfect , with win or loss , he is good man and good boxer

I think the reason that alot of people thought/wished he was gay is because he is a man who takes pride in his appearance. Not all that common in boxing. People thought the same about Floyd until Ms Jackson came onto the scene. Unlike Floyd though Martinez is good looking so its understandable about suspicions but I never doubted him. Now is he getting all this attention and I hope its lasts. Women will be throwing themselves at him and he could be the face of boxing. Just ashame he cant really speak English otherwise he would transcend the sport. floyd also has a house full of kids and has been seen publicly with women, but I get ur point though.

Martinez is slowing down already, he'll be out of the sport before he's 40. Just because he started late doesn't mean he's a freak like Hopkins. :lol1: B-Hop's style has also helped in his longevity. He can lose and still make anyone look bad. Since Martinez doesn't have much time left, I don't see the point fighting Chavez again. Fighting a guy that big will tax your career, even in victory.

Too bad hes so old. Had he been in his early 30s by now I think he can pull it off. I guess it depends on how much longer he has left. I can see him fighting til he's 40 at least, as long as he doesn't suffer any serious injuries during that time.

The way Pacquiao and Cotto have come from foreign countries to become stars world-wide. Sergio has the style, the achievements, the look and the personality to be a draw everywhere if Lou DiBella can make the most of it. I never saw anything about him being married or having kids or a trail of broken hearts. He dresses well, wears pink and purple alot which, isnt necessarily gay but done by gay guys alot or pimps. I just assumed a guy that good looking 37 years old and rich and successful was gay. I was wrong.

There is much to like about Martinez For one he is not a fabricated champion, the boxing machine diddent want him to win because of his age and because he was not a american. After he knocked out the punisher, he was put in there with solid and proven unbeaten fighters, and what did he do, he knocks them all out. And then there is his style, he is a very advanced fight with superb reflexes, he dances around the ring like a young Ali, faints,punches with damaging power and precision, from odd angels. And he has a ton of hart, getting up from that knockdown in the 12 round and then stand toe to toe and landing was pure magic. he is also handsome, well spoken and a good person. What is not to like
