They hit like a mule?
It might have something to do with Colombian men having sex with donkeys.
Look it up.
:D :D :D
I thought about that too...Here is the 15 min documentary(It has an epic ending):
It's funny everyone uses the Calzaghe stereotype of early stoppages or paper hands when he used to be a very powerful puncher. I think it's a testament to him that he managed to overcome his hand problems, adapted his style and still went all the way.
Very powerful? I've never seen any evidence of that.
Good power? Yes.
But he has more than his fair share of bull**** stoppages and they affected his KO percentage accordingly. Which is what he cited.
Because they usually fight guys with poor punch resistance~, they can all punch pretty good though, I would put it down to there not being many good trainers in Columbia so the guys that make it out tend to be the guys that are the better punchers.
i would say this
also, many of the fleet guys are going to be soccer players over there. that's where the money and the glory can be found.
you probably head to the boxing ring if you're a brute.

And they all have one thing in common besides having "a little" pop!!! Questionable chins, especially Ricardo Torres and Breidis Prescott. Damn I think thats why Torres retired, or semi-retired, or whatever he did, because he got knocked down and out too many times.

Why do Honkeys, Caucasians hit so hard???
Tommy Morrison
Kelly Pavlik
Gerry Cooney
Jerry Quarry
Ricky Hatton
Joe Calzaghe (Before his hands turned to brittle) Good KO percentage before that.
Andy Lee
See, you can pretty much ask that question with every race and country.
Calzaghe is the patron saint of early stoppages.
KO percentage means nothing by itself.
What about Argentinians?
Argentinians either are really strong punchers (Matthysee, Maidana, Monzon) or are really featherfisted (Lazarte, Cuenca, Locche)
Why do Honkeys, Caucasians hit so hard???
Tommy Morrison Scottish
Kelly Pavlik
Gerry Cooney- Irish
Jerry Quarry -Irish
Ricky Hatton
Joe Calzaghe-Italian not white and welsh (Before his hands turned to brittle) Good KO percentage before that.

Better question would be why do Irishman hit so hard.

Add Antonio Pitalua and Epifanio Mendoza to that list. I've always wondered why this country produced so many big punchers. I think it's because they have a very basic understanding of the sport, they think it's all about knocking your opponent out so the fighters who make it to the top are the ones who hit the hardest.

Good answer!!!!
because power trumps skills in that part of the world
There you go, theres your answer. If that question just had to be answered, then that is the best possible answer your going to get. Simple but very very true.
Horrible thread!!!!

Possibly one of the dumbest questions ever asked on a thread. Why do the United States have the strongest and best Military in the world?? Since your going to ask questions, theres one for you.
those are no names though, the list I provided have done something in the sport and koed legit guys
Good list, couple more:
Epifanio Mendoza
Jose Luis Herrera, the guy that KOed Aaron Williams first. At some point all of his wins and losses (5+) were by KO
Must be that their fans have short attn spans with all that stimulant around, and reward boxers that deliver. Like Mexicans love brawls, so having a strong chin helps break out
Why do Brazilians hit so hard?
This is just from the top p4p list...
William Fernando Souza Bezerra 32-0 31K.Os
Marcus Vinicius de Oliveira 23-1 21K.Os
Irineu Beato Costa Junior 12-0 11K.Os
Patrick Teixeira 18-0 16K.Os
Jackson Junior 12-0 10K.Os
Acelino Freitas 39-2 33K.Os
Mike Miranda 39-4 35K.Os
Pedro Otas 24-2 20K.Os
Julio Cesar Dos Santos 21-1 19K.Os
Laudelino Jose Barros 36-2 30K.Os
The answer is the same reason as why Deontay Wilder is 25-0 with a 100% K.O ratio?
