Very poor technique using the jab! Rows it constantly and when he backs off he steps over to his left and squares up! Thats a problem if someone follows him in quickly and forces an issue. This guy NEVER steps in and backs up the mitt man he just hits and pulls back and never moves around the mitt man working on flanking to catch him in a profile!
All of this mitt work today is flash or movement orentated it seems to have lost its initial concept for gaining position and working in combination and keeping good balance while your on the move.
This guy looks ordinary to me but again its just a light work out with little to nothing going on. You do fight as you train and it looks like a "track star" instead of someone looking to dominate. I'd guess they feel their oponent will tire and the late rounds will belong to Sergio? Ray.
This guy has no idea.

NSAC: Chavez, Martinez Drug Test Negative For Steroids
That testing was way before the press conferences even started. Chavez didnt start taking his diuretics till recently.

Maybe he meant IF? I don't think Ive read anywhere about the specifics. Then again it doesn't mean he doesn't know.
lmfao so your telling me they practice their stragetty hitting a bag? Shows how much you have trained or know.

His poor technique helped him become one of the best fighters in the world. Just saying.

I did also saw him a lil bit winded right after the first 3 mins... that said... i think that sergios condition has always been a remarkable one... For sure, chavez is having a hard time making weight and all that ****.. and his condition hasnt always been the best..
I believe if Sergio can keep this pace for 12 rounds.. theres no way chavez can beat him... dude is way to slow for him.... I want to see how sergio reacts once he gets hit flush by chavez.. if chavez cant hurt/wobble him at least with his best punch ... hes gonna be in for a beating...
Maravilla's Ring IQ will be the difference... he's gonna hit chavez from every angle... thats for sure
All you have to do is watch the Zbik fight (I personally thought Zbik won fairly comfortably) to see how poorly Chavez does against anyone with speed and ability to place punches.
Zbik couldn't punch, Martinez can.

Where does this idea that Chavez is some sort of murderous puncher come from? His power is fairly average. He has a 66% KO percentage, against a career full of hand picked opponents.
He's had 3 ko's in his last 11 fights against fairly weak opposition.
Compare that to Martinez who has stopped 6 of his last 11 opponents, against solid opposition.
personally don't see him looking to sharp beyond his punching, which a pro should always look sharp doing. Maybe it was the end of his workout but I saw him a tad winded and favoring the right knee that was taped or braced when moving. Whatever the deal is I didn't like the look, he seemed a bit off to me. Just being real and I'm a Sergio fan as well as having him favored in this fight but that clip has me worried

What's with the tape around his right knee? Hopefully no nagging injury. Either way, Martinez is going to beat the dust off Chavez.
It doesn't look like a knee brace, more like a bandage you put on when you scratch or cut your knee. It didn't seem to hamper his movement so I wouldn't worry about it.
Because The mits along with constant moving is a hell of a cardio work out. It's not just because that's the gameplan. Learn something everyday, eh?
hes obviously an alt
from that you can tell what his game plan is clearly gona be. His coach keeps telling him to shot the one twos and move why would they practice something they are not gona execute pendejo,.

mackling and barker are scrubs. Bet even lee would knock those euro level fighters out. Only fight he gets respect was when he koed williams
Doubtful.. Lee almost died against McEwan.
Used to think they were love handles, but I believe he just has unusually big obliques in that area. He looks like that even when he's fully ripped. And that's definitely not fat sticking out in his sides. It's muscle.

He didn't have them at 54, at least not as pronounced. has had them every fight at 160. it's definitely more water he's carrying

This guy says that Martinez has a sloppy and unprofessional style, among other dumb ***** lol. Sergio seems like one of the most relaxed guys in the ring. His foot-work and torso movement is so fluid, and the only time he tightens up is when he's throwing a punch, or when he's under attack. His style is a problem because it's so unique that he forces you to adjust in the ring. A guy with a sloppy style does not stop guys like Sergio does.
DAAAAAMN, you found Mushadeen on youtube. Words of wisdom from this guy hahaha, this people don't know ****.
I mean, if u really claim that u love the sport of boxing, u cant compare all the ATG fighters with Sergio martinez because they fight totally differnt, u can like him or not but u need to respect him, and the reason of his succes is his STYLE.
If you ever box( amateur or profesional) u know for a fact that, the unorthodox style of a figher like sergio martinez is one of the hardest to deal with, and the same goes with pacquiao, calzaghe etc. because 99 percent of the times u box(in the gym or in a fight) u will always deal with the same orthodox style and never ever see a boxer like sergio
I mean, sergio is a southpaw, comes with his hands dow,has good hand speed, most of the times he counters with a jab, use well angles, good head movment, very akward, i mean if i tell u the truth is hard to describe his style and on top of that he is a great athlete, with strong mentality.
All this things is what makes Sergio Martinez so successful,u can hate it or love it, but to say that he is unprofesional? thats bullsshhit! The guy took boxing with 20 years old... he may not be flashy and a great technician like sugar ray leonard was,but he's gonna put a beating on that kid. MARK MY WORDS! :boxing:
