Whomever Donaire (29-1, 18 KOs) fights in the fall, you can count on seeing featherweight titlist Orlando Salido (39-11-2, 27 KOs) -- who came through a tuneup fight on Saturday night with ease -- facing Miguel Angel "Mikey" Garcia (28-0, 24 KOs) in the co-feature. That is a terrific matchup.
Dunkin, who manages Garcia, said that fight is in the process of being finalized, which is also what Salido's manager, Sean Gibbons, told me following Salido's tuneup win.

You all are influencing me here :boxing:. Once the fight is signed I will be putting points on Salido too. I like his chances. We just dunno how Mikey will react to Salido recklessness. Hopefully Salido will try and work the body like he did his last fight.
Saildo/Garcia, Donaire/Arce, and Rios/Alvarado can all be aired on different dates, and do decent views and sell pretty good at the gate.
Hell, if Arum's even thinking about making any of these a doubleheader for free, then surely he can make it a PPV. I like the idea of it being on free tv, but Im just saying.
Anyway, As far as Salido/Garcia...I have to give this one to Salido. Not because he upsets Lopez twice, but because he's consistent and presses the action.
Garcia has a habit of being too relaxed/reserved at times, and that may work against him.
i really, really hope arce backs out of this fight with donaire so we can get donaire-nishioka instead. and then salido-garcia as co-feature...can't wait for that. their are rumors of a rios-alvarado in that card as well. if that happens, i believe top rank will offer it as ppv and i would still buy it in a heartbeat.
I'm willing to put 100 mil on Salido, you down?
You must be if you're gonna lay it all on the line. We can make a friendly wager as the fight approaches.
This is a big test for Mikey, the biggest he's ever had. Salido is for real. If Garcia manages to come out on top, especially by KO, he'll have arrived. At that point, I would have to say he's ready for Gamboa (although it looks like he'll have to move up to make that fight happen). But first thing's first....
I'll start making wagers as soon as the fight is fully confirmed.
Mikey is biting off more than he can chew IMO. He hasn't fought anyone that will get him ready for Siri. He's taller and is the better boxer, but so was Guerrero when he fought Salido. If Mikey can either avoid the overhand right or take Salido's shots well then he's got a good chance of winning. Salido's experience vs Garcia's inexperience will be the key factor in this fight.
I'm talking Mikey over Salido with whoever wants it. My link to my betting page is on the bottom of my sig. If you'd like to give away your points, I'm open to accepting them, thank!!:boxing:
I'm still disappointed that Garcia-Caballero fell thru because I really think Mikey shoulda had a tune up first, but with that said I'm so confident in Mikey tho I am also willing to bet on him for the KO. but damn Salido really made a name for himself knocking out Juanma twice, because before that aint nobody took Salido seriously...
And yeah, Garcia-Salido should be the main event, Donaire-Arce co-main event.
I took Salido seriously after watching his losing effort versus Gamboa. Before then, all I knew of him was his record (which is what throws a lot of people off). Orlando impressed me versus Yuri. The guy was a tiger; he was just in there against a better guy. Considering that and his ownage of Lopez, I favor Salido versus the good, but untested, Garcia. Mikey better bring his battle-ax and shield, 'cause "Siri's" a warrior.
I was just thinking about the 3 fights that could potentially be under this card, not so much with the Donaire vs Arce but the Mikey vs Siri and Rios vs Alvarado matchups.
I will be putting all my points on the line on Mikey for this fight, I'm really confident Mikey will KO him.

Cool. Remind me as the fight approaches.
I have no doubt it'll be an exciting bout of well-coached skills versus hard-earned toughness. The only thing that can disappoint me about this fight is if it falls through (bite my tongue).
Im tempted to put points on Salido as well. Cause like I said we haven't seen him being pushed yet. At least I haven't.
good fight... imo garcia will out point salido in a fun scrap...garcia just has the better tools imo
Thats the thing. We havent seen anyone pushing Mikey and getting.him out of his zone. So we dunno how he's gonna reqct. It will be interesting to see tho. We're used to seeing Mikey just stand there and box all relaxed.
We know Orlando can take punishment, but can Mikey take it?
I pick salido for this match. he has improved immensely since fighting juanma in the rematch. He'll throw punches from ALL angles and, as we saw in the juanma rematch, He has much more to offer than just an overhand right.
