I think im confused but, is this the same Lopez that Nonito dominated???? I understand that anything is possible specially in Boxing where one punch can end a fight but, Lopez should just fabricate a injury so his can box another day......
So much hype surrounding that little chihuahua
I hope he gets splat
and i hope that midget on your avatar gets ko soon so we wont have to see his ugly face no more............
Josesito chose to sign the fight contract, he knows full well what he is up against, but this is a business first and he understands that for him these type of opportunities don't come up often, or ever again possibly. Quit acting like he was forced into this, this is a prize fight and anything can happen, his outside shot at winning plus the financial compensation is enough motivation for him to try and fight the fight of his life. He is as much to blame as GBP, he also EARNED this fight he didn't just get it given to him.
I agreed with you 99%, this I do not "he also EARNED this fight he didn't just get it given to him." He won a fight at WW against a guy coming from a loss a guy that was beating him and got his jaw cracked and chose to not come for the next round, that doesn't make him the #1 contender at 154, after all Sulaiman has proclaimed that Canelo's next fight was a mandatory, Molina or Lara has earn the shot, Vanes has more merits than Lopez, he has fought two "eliminators", he was chose to make Canelo look good and keep the hype train going.
Not sure how much he weighed but he looked thin compared to Ortiz...who knows, Lopez could pull off the upset...I just can't picture it though.
Al Haymon fighters have been having a good year, and I don't expect it to stop now. If Lopez was motivated for the Ortiz fight, he's gonna come in like a man possessed against Canelo. The fight shouldn't be happening, but I think GB is gonna regret that they made it. The general consensus is that Canelo is gonna smash Lopez, he's in a lose-lose situation. Lopez is on his old-school grind right now, going up weight classes with nothing to lose. This could possibly be the fight that changes our opinion of Canelo.
Canelo has a little more pop than Ortiz, but doesn't have the same work-rate and intensity. Canelo and Ortiz are comparable in size as well. Canelo also has a questionable chin and stamina, maybe Lopez will be able to exploit that. Lopez might not have out-of-this-world power, but he'll probably surprise Canelo. The only thing I'm worried about is how Lopez will put on the extra weight. He weighed 144 on the scales vs. Ortiz, he'll probably weigh 148-150 vs. Canelo and rehydrate to 154.
Lopez won't have to worry about an unorthodox stance, he won't have to worry about speed or movement, he won't have to worry about being pressured. Canelo has pop and technique, solid boxer-puncher, but he still has a lot of questions to answer.
Anyone know what his fight night weight was against Ortiz?

Lopez is a tough, good boxer but lets not forget what his face was looking like against Ortiz. Both of his eyes had massive swelling and he was behind on the cards. Now he is facing an ever bigger, harder punching guy who not only is fast and accurate but who works the body. Lopez already had some excess fat around the waist against Ortiz, he will be very soft against Canelo and that's going to play a huge factor in this fight.
I think the ref or Lopez' corner stops the fight around the 7th or 8th worst case. I can't see Lopez landing the distance, I just can't see how his body holds up.

Either you're not giving Lopez enough credit, or you're giving Canelo too much credit.
I'm anticipating another upset.

Aside from the hype Canelo is a solid boxer who keeps improving.
I do think its scummish how GBP is feeding him Josesito... and basically ending Josesitos career

Just like I posted in the other tread, if Josesito used his reach & decided to stay on the outside & throw straight jabs & rights hands to a ud!! Hell, even if he was robbed it would ruin that hype job.
On one hand, it would be hilarious. On the other hand, I don't want Oscar to have the smug satisfaction of pretending he knew all along this obviously cherry picked opponent wasn't really meant to be a mismatch.
