It's his way of handling all the negativity and pressure. It's the way he protects his psyche. If he didn't have that demeanor post-fight, then I would be worried.
Ortiz fought hard and well until the end, i dont consider this quitting. If a doctor had examined him and stopped the fight, it would be the same thing without him saying "i quit".
the problem with Victor is that he seems to like opening his mouth a lot when punching, leaving his jaw vulnerable to being broken
I noticed that too. Got caught with a perfect hard left.
Nah, his reaction was okay, considering where he is right now and all of the other big opportunities got blasted again, atleast he didn't do a JUAN MA LOPEZ move :D
deep inside he understands and still is sad about what happen IMO..

I don't blame Ortiz for quitting this time but his behavior after fight was disgraceful indeed. It's like he doesn't take the sport seriously. He's not playing with a full deck.
Ortiz is a quitter. Thats it. Comin from a Mexican he is a disgrace to the sport. Even canelo was laughing at him. shocked and stunned he quit tonight.
Apparently everybody has a lot of balls talking **** about the guy who just broke his jaw in a boxing match while they themselves were sitting on their on their ass watching from the comfort of their couch. Were you not entertained?
How bout when Cotto quit and ran like a bitch to the dressing room? He did it with Mayweather too. How funny huh?
Cotto cares and it shows he is not just in for the money. Just look at how he had tears in his eyes after the Mayweather fight.
Man, Ortiz has been through some depressions in his life. The last thing he needs is to have ppl talk **** about him. Anxiety and depression can make someone even commit suicide or do something crazy. People just need to back off and not kick someone when they are down.
Leave him be, it was his choice and it's his health not yours. He gave a good effort and made the fight entertaining. He said he couldn't close his mouth he would have gotten KO'd if he went on. I advise him to go back to the drawing board cuz he's losing some fundamentals in his game. No answer to those left hooks it was crazy.
I understand him getting hurt but laughing like he doesnt care? Thats distespectfull considering he keeps getting all this chances.
I think it's just the way he deals with things, tries to stay positive and smile through the worst situations. Don't get me wrong I was pretty pissed he looked all happy about it, but some people deal with hard situations differently. I'm sure when he's alone or in his locker room it's a completely different story.
