Alvarez to go belt-hunting and unify the division.

I would like to see him fight Joel Julio, if Kirkland is really stupid enough not to take this fight. I just can't see how gbp can expect to sell any ppvs if it's trout or k9.

To me the only problem with trying to unify the belts and fighting either K9 or Trout in September is that it's headlining a PPV. You can't knock Canelo for the competition, he was initially fighting Williams which would have been a great fight. He's only 22 so he's got time to fight the top competition after unifying, but who wants to buy a PPV where the main event is against K9 or Trout?

Kirkland's been hurt since before the Molina fight. I'm pretty sure Kirkland said he wouldn't be ready to fight Canelo until at least October/November. So why is canelo trying to fight him in September? If you call that "trying", cool. Trying to me is being flexible and fighting the guy when he says he will be healthy. Kirkland was the mando... then Vanes is next. But then again, unification over rules mandatory... unless the WBC feels like making more money, they'll over rule that for a name opponent to line their pockets

Canelo unifying titles at 22 is pretty cool.

If golden boy is true to their word and Canelo fights only belt holders nobody should complain about that. Lara and the other top guys should target the belt holder Canelo is not fighting first. Win a belt and Canelo has to fight you next. I think the plan is Trout first, then Bundrage and then Floyd. One fighter getting all 4 belts would be great no matter who that fighter turned out to be. The reason they all target Canelo is he biggest payday at 154 next to Floyd and Cotto. I really don't see Floyd-Canelo happening in May 2013. I don't think Oscar thinks he's ready, and I think they want a Canelo-Cotto fight first. I think we're going to see Alvarez-Trout and Bundrage-Rosado in the early fall. Than, if Alvarez wins, he'll fight the winner of that fight in December. Than, I think we'll see Alvarez-Cotto in May 2013.

Even if Kirkland fights in Oct/Nov to test out his shoulder out, what's the rush for Canelo? All he has to do is wait a few months to February or something. The object here is to be flexible. That's why I just said if he's not fully ready to go, fight a Rosado (good/solid fight) in the fall, and than go for Canelo in 2013............

Also, Kirkland isn't pricing himself out. He said he would fight Canelo while being hurt for 2.5 mil. That's not what he's asking for to fight healthy. Than if he's hurt and can't go, don't entertain the fight. Come back against a Rosado in October or November, and than go fo a Canelo fight in Early 2013. Asking for 2.5M hurt ot healthy is crazy talk, flat out. He's insane if he thinks he's getting 2.5M.

Kirkland is saying he will be ready in October/November. Why not Kirkland in December instead of Trout? Why not Trout in September instead of K-9? I'm perfectly fine with the Cotto fight, just not the K-9 fight. Why because he has a punk ass belt? I'd be fine with that too. Sounds good to me. But if Kirkland fights in October or November, I highly doubt he'll fight in December again as well. I'm just going by what is the most realistic situation. I still hope and pray Kirkland will drop his demand of 2.5M, because it's ridiculous. Kirkland would be lucky to get 1 million after the Molina fight, injury or not.

The only fight people are knocking is the freaking K-9 fight lol So what he beat Spinks and Powell. He also got KO'd by Powell and Julio and lost to freaking Steve Forbes on The Contender reality series lol Maybe everyone is knocking the K-9 fight because they know he's not a live body on the big stage. Trout, healthy Kirkland and Lara all THE ONLY fights Canelo needs to make at this point. Lara isn't happening, and it's not Lara's fault. I completely think Canelo should fight Lara, but it's like wasting by posts on something that will NEVER happen. If it's Bundrage in September, Trout in December, and Cotto in May, that's a good schedule. Kirkland want stoo much money, oh well. This^^^^^^ If he fights Bundrage (IBF champ/Top 10 SWW) and than Trout (WBA champ/Top 10 SWW), and than a big fight with Cotto in May/June 2013, how can anyone knock that???? That sounds like a perfect plan to me. Yeah there is options like Kirkland and Lara but I'm sure if anyone was in his position they would choose to fight for another belt instead of high risk/low reward contenders (honest truth).

No, Canelo-Mosley/Gomez was bulls**t to the fullest. But if Alvarez fights Trout and Bundrage in his next two fights, how is that not good fights??? Bundrage has beaten Powell and Spinks, and would be a unification. Trout has beaten Lopez and Rodriguez, and would be a unification. The Lara fight is NOT HAPPENING, and I'm the biggest Lara fan. Lara would have a better shot to get a big fight if he moves up to 160, none of those 154 lb guys will fight him except for maybe Molina. Maan. Lara got greedy. He should of went after that Bundrage belt ASAP. Then he would be in the picture. Unification goes through him.

it would be cool to see canelo unify the division...but i'd rather seem him fight some of the non-title holders like lara, cotto and kirkland.
