This is not my style but I am terribly bored at work today!!!!!!

You KNOW it's a bumpf article when it says that Mayweather promotes his own shows and keeps all the money above expenses. This is an absolute lie written by an ignorant gloss artist who knows nothing about his subject. I can imagine the IRS scratching their head on reading this.
Laughable.
LOL this is hilarious. This is a classic thread.
This is a sad, sad(but hilarious) thread to read.. shame what a story by a credible source does to those who used it just a week ago to back their claims to these two boxers.
I think Forbes is 100% wrong. That doesn't even make sense.
The PPV generated 94 million dollars. HBO takes their cut, expenses,GB, Cotto. If he got 85 million, that would leave 9 million for everyone else to divide, which isn't realistic because Cotto was being paid a guarantee of 8 on his own.
Mayweather gets a high PPV percentage that is split with HBO. Floyd gets a guarantee of $32 million. After all of the money is divided up - maybe got Floyd 50-60 million and even that is up for debate but that's what Floyd has claimed to make for past pay-per-views and they weren't that far off from PPV number of the Cotto show. Mayweather-Mosley drew around 1.4 million buys and generated $78.3 million (lower PPV price) and Floyd himself claims to have made around 50 for that one.
It might look good on paper for Mayweather but that's revenue. Like Arum says, Mayweather does his numbers a little funny but the end result is no different than Pacquiao's. Mayweather thinks he's a promoter, lol.
Don't forget out of the revenue, expenses are taken out.
Let's take a 100M PPV. Out of that 100M, 50% is taken out for HBO and cable companies that carries the PPV. That's the basic business there, no argument needed. Out of the 50M that's left over, the promoter who actually hired staff and did the actual promotion takes their cut and pays their staff. In Mayweather's case that's GBP. Let's say GBP takes their 10M. That leaves 40M. Out of that Haymon takes his cut. Haymon is not cheap. He probably takes 5M, just guessing. Roger takes his 1M. Ellerbe takes his whatever crumbs he get. Now I don't know how big a staff Mayweather has but they need to get paid. Add to that all those roided bodyguards. Steroids are not cheap, they need to keep their supply up.
I'm guessing after he pays off everyone at Mayweather Promotions he's left with 25M. Now Uncle Sam gets his cut and it's close to 50%. That pretty well leaves Mayweather with a 12.5M dollar check that he can use to make rain with.
So get off your fantasy world that Mayweather makes 85M because that's all it is, fantasy.
2-3 weeks ago Pac is named one of the most influential athletes in America by Forbes.
A week ago they list Manny having earned more than Floyd over twelve months.
Now they call Floyd the richest athlete and Forbes is being condemned as a tabloid that is rancid with yellow journalism.
You guys crack me up...

Awww it'll be ok lil fella. There will be a Ronnie N article along to brighten your day
No more split issues. Manny simply doesn't generate enough. SO if floyd offers 65/35 and full OST manny should sign immediately. Each fighter gets their fair share and there is random PED testing to protect both.
Lets get the fight made!
You know BIGG you're old enough to know not to fall for this sort of crap. I just can't understand how you suddenly became a 15 year old kid repeating something from his comic strip. Go read a book.
"forbes is only legit when manny is above floyd for highest paid athlete, this article is written by a flomo!"

i agree but i think 60/40 in favor of Floyd is fair. But it wont get made so who cares
This guy is at least practical about it, instead of circle-jerking and pretending he wants the fight badly. Yes, who cares if it doesn't happen? That should be the stand.
Obviously, the fight could only happen at 50/50 split. If it doesn't happen, who cares? We can then move on and look forward to other fights, instead of bringing it up like we're butt hurt because our boy is not getting the share he deserves. It's childish. Pac is not the only fighter for Floyd.

What's better?
A guy that makes 50 billion per fight and dodges all the most dangerous fights
or a guy that fights the best for free?
A man that boasts about another man's bank account might as well be a cheerleader or groupie.
Fighting the best like Marquez for the 20th time. Tell your hero he aint getting 50 percent of sh1t. Stop pricing yourself out.

We're just circle-jerking. You're not happy with the way things are going in the Pac fight. Here's Martinez waiting... I can't see the point of bringing up the split issues. Don't you agree Martinez is a better alternative for Floyd's next fight?

I'm just going with the flow where Floyd fans are taking the Pac fight. If you're not happy with the way things are going, nobody is forcing you guys to pursue it further. Martinez is the better alternative for Floyd's next fight. It's easy to make. I was expecting you guys to agree with that. What am I missing?

SPoken like a true manny fan.

What I don't understand is, why do some people care so passionately if its 50/50 or 60/40 etc.
Its not like Floyd going to be putting food on your table and feeding your kids if he gets 50/50 or 60/40 or whatever. End of the day him and Arum are just greedy mofo's and thats the bottom line. Maybe jail might have him thinking differently when he gets out.
I don't know with you floydiots if you really know how to fairly analyze things, oh i get it, it's how Floyd analyze things so it should be right .....
It's not a question of who gets home with the biggest dough, it's who GENERATES MORE in terms of TOTAL REVENUE!!!!
Yes Floyd may have earned himself 85mill on two fights, but he also has to share some promotional obligations with his co-promoters, so the 85mill after all the cuts may have also been much lower than what you floydiots expected...
And don't you think if Manny doesn't have Arum to do all that promotional hoopla and chose to promote himself would have been earning the same as Floyd??!!!
Floyd vs Marquez did 1.05m PPV & Floyd vs cotto did 1.5m PPV, as against, Pac vs marquez did 1.41m PPV & Pac vs cotto did 1.25 PPV buys, so in comparison they both GENERATE almost the SAME PPV numbers....
Yes 50/50 because they generate almost the same amount of money regardless of how they split it up with their respected people...
ANyway you cut it, manny doesn't deserve 50/50.

HBO did release the Cotto/May numbers though and forbes did say May makes serious bank so ill go on that.
