While Bute is no slouch defensively, he is there to be hit, as lesser fighters like Johnson, Magee, and Andrade have proven over the years. Froch is better than these fighters, and could land his jab and right hand with alarming regularity.
Bute keeps his hands below his neck, and uses head movement to roll with and slip punches when on the defensive. However, he is no Mayweather or Ward, and his head isn't all that hard to find. I have a feeling that Froch's jab is going to be key in this fight. He will throw it from the outside to keep Bute off balance and blind him from the crunching right hands that will follow. I just can't see how Bute avoids Froch's right hand?
You could point to Froch's inability to really hurt fighters like Kessler, Abraham, and Johnson, but I believe all these fighters have better defensive qualities that Bute. Kessler is conventional, and has a good chin, Abraham has that tight guard, and Johnson can absorb huge punishment. Bute hasn't proven he can take a beating and come back from it yet.
At some point, Froch is going to land big, and I don't believe Bute has the durability to sustain nor avoid the onslaught. Obviously Froch is just as open as Bute, but with the longer reach, he can keep on the outside of exchanges, and use his jab and awkwardness to create his moments. If Bute can't get a KO early, Froch will come on and on, and I believe he will KO Bute in the late rounds 10-12.
This may sound crazy, but I think Bute's style is somewhat made for Froch and this will start to show after the third round.
The second fight will play out similar to this. Bute is getting Bute'd again.
Come on Timba, your last prediction was so bang on, even predicting round 3 would see a turn....stick your hat on it again, give us a more precise prediction.
I was expecting Bute to school Froch..
Damn man good call i expected a bute UD
good call man..i was way off with mine..i thought froch was gonna get schooled..

Wow wow wow wow. I don't know whether to be impressed or a little scared:hail:
Without help from the referee Bute would have been KOed by Andrade. Bute has never been hurt before that or after that to my knowledge. Andrade is an average fighter overall, but a great puncher, and he hits much harder than Froch. Taylor damn near KOed Froch. Bute is better than that Taylor in every way and a much harder puncher and a better finisher. I pick Bute to win by KO or one sided decision. The nice thing is we will know the results in a few hours.
Agree with most of what TS is saying, apart from that Bute is tailor-made for Froch. I would say that Abraham was tailor-made for Froch, short and slow. Bute has a good style for Froch though, no doubt about that. Much better than Ward, certainly.
