I think this is definitely the match up of the year and could well be Fight of the Year.
Froch has had the toughest run of fighters over the last few year than any other fighter out there. Bute has not faced the same caliber of fighters but has looked impressive in his hometown fights and has shown some great technical skills and seems to be a big puncher.
Bute the IBF Champ has been accused in the past of just being a home town fighter but now he travels to Froch's backyard to defend his title, a move that I have much respect for.
It is shameful that the two main American Networks, HBO and Showtime, have passed on this fight but was picked up by Epix and minor cable channel.
Froch is coming of a loss, but it was a under par performance against Ward, and he will have his hometown fans supporting him and maybe influencing the judges. Froch has a granite chine, a great jab and can bang with the best of them, has to good work rate and great stamina.
Bute is unbeaten, is a huge puncher, fast hands, a slick style with some fast combos and good body punching but his chin is suspect.
Froch is a warrior but can have too much machismo to be crafty and be sensible when needs be.
So who have you got for this fight?
I haven't got a clue who to pick
I don't understand why so many people are excited. Froch is coming of a lopsided loss, I don't see it as a huge fight, just a good test for Bute. He'll probably stop Froch in 8-10 rds.
Hmmm... maybe they are other fights you are completely wrong about.
I'm willing to bet 100 mil on Bute stopping Froch, head or body. :boxing:
Sure ok.
I don't think it is beyond Bute, but I'll take that bet.
100 million that Bute' does not stop Froch from head punches or body punches.
Deal?
I agree Froch probably can't be stopped- it'd be a big feat for Bute. A huge statement.
Especially in Froch's backyard.
I hope Froch doesn't come out banging and swinging thinking he needs to knock Bute out, that mentality was partially to blame for the Ward loss.
He needs hammer that jab, pressure Bute but keep moving also and protect his body.
If he can slow Bute down make him fight at a pace outside his comfort zone, just try to land rather than land with power, then late on when Bute is tired go for the kill.
Like I said before, I'm not sure which way this fight will go but I'm sure it will be a great fight.
I really don't see what the big fuss is about imo this fight is actually pretty easy to call.
Froch has a big problem fighting boxers who like to move as we saw with Dirrell and Ward.
He did well against the likes of Kessler, Abraham and Johnson because they're not movers. Bute has great footwork and boxing skills all that is needed to neutralise Carl.
And for the people saying that Froch is proven and Bute isn't, think about this...was Ward proven before the super six? Had he fought anybody of note? The answer is no. Class always comes through.
I love Carl (no homo) and I'll be rooting for him but it's a big ask for him to pull it off.
Just about every fighter looks good against surthen apponents and have trouble with other styles.
At the top level Ward has proven to look spectacular against all style`s,that is what makes him so good.
He wins because he adjusts to the task.
Ward is even better then Floyd in that category
No ty, still not sure about this fight, but I don't think Froch will be stopped by a body shot.
Very unlikely for him to be stopped at all.

I'd put 40,000 down on Bute.
I'm just excited for the fight!

that's sort of a 24/7 but it's really well made.
can't ****ing believe im working tonight when the fight's happening...
That's what I though, none of that reality show look and created scenes, but a real insight into these two boxers, what makes them tick and their preparation for this fight.
Call in sick:trink26:
carl froch will walk down bute the way librado andrade did in their first fight. carl froch is a proven commodity with a great chin & aggressive style.
Bute is undefeated which means he hasnt really fought anybody yet.
Carl Froch got this.
i voted for froch....I usually go with the more skilled guy like Bute..but Froch has been fighting the top super middleweights for sometime now and Bute has been padding his record fighting lower top ten-fifteen guys...Froch also has a very good chin, heart and activity...BUte does have the skills to outbox Frock but he doesnt have the slickness of Ward or Dirrell, he is a little bit erect and doesnt move his head and waist much. Froch by decision
Everyone sees Froch coming on late. Imo it will be the opposite. Bute is consistant with his body punching. I see him staying with that and rocking a tired Froch late, stopping him in the 11th round.
Froch hasn't faced a boxer/puncher with speed like this since Taylor. Kessler is not the same type of fighter and he's orthadox.
not a big fan of either fighter to be honest, but I have some respect for Froch...Bute on the other hand I think is a FRAUD and one of the biggest HYPE JOBS in boxing today
I feel his hype is out of DESPERATION from Canadian fans who are DESPERATE FOR SOMETHING TO CHEER FOR, I think Ward would MURDER BUTE, that "SLICK" crap won't work against Ward because Ward is not going to Head Hunt against him, he is going to get inside and MURDER HIM TO THE BODY, I think Andre Dirrell would beat him, I think Jean Pascal would beat him as would Kessler if he would have stayed at 168, only way Bute can beat Ward is a Hometown Decision and a Ref that will stop the action for no reason and then stall and allow Bute to recover like that one ref did during the 1st Andrade fight
So Lucian Bute should beat Froch, the blue print has been laid 3 times during the Super 6 Tournament, you can stick and move against him like Dirrell did but Ward also shown that with him being so damn slow and has NO HEAD MOVEMENT, you don't have to run from Froch Power, you can stand in the Pocket and Counter him and Pick Him Apart like Ward did...if Bute can stop Froch then that will be even MORE HYPE for Bute
I have nothing against either fighter may the Best Man Win...but I have to call it like I see it, the best thing about Froch is his "CHIN" as for Bute the best thing about him is his HYPE/FAN SUPPORT!
I really don't see what the big fuss is about imo this fight is actually pretty easy to call.
