Cotto-Pac, I would tell Miguel after round 2 to stay outside the pocket and focus on counter punching. I would tell him not to stay too close and to watch the uppercuts, to not drop his hands, and to keep his punches short and compact.
JL Castillo-Mayweather II, I would tell Castillo after round 5 to keep using his jab and to stop letting Floyd get off first. I'd tell him to stay close in his chest and to not let up the pressure whatsoever.
Arguello-Pryor I, I would tell Alexis after round 5 to stay on the outside and keep Pryor at bay with the jab. I'd tell him to stop trying to fight him toe to toe and to throw more uppercuts. Basically to out box him.
There are tons more. When watching fights Im very attentive to what the corners are telling the fighters. Im always shouting out my own instructions when I get angry or excited during a fight. You guys?
I agree with all these man.
Oscar just need to keep it up and he would've won without doubt or shame.
Williams seemed ok with eating the left. He made no adjustments whatsoever and didn't use his boxing ability, he got drawn into the brawl. I would have told him to utilize his jab, keep his right hand up to his cheek, and stay on the outside.
To Ortiz, jab jab jab, keep him on the ropes, punch all shoulder kidney, arms, body, and stay in his chest. Impose your bigger body on his.
To Judah, take your time, switch up your game, then switch back. I would have told him his speed matched Mayweathers and to just pick his shots and try to also use his smarts and figure Mayweather out, what his plans were and what he was expecting.
To morales, fight him exactly as in the first fight. Use his jab and counter right. Circle and circle and stay off the ropes. Dont be drawn into a brawl. And as always, uppercuts against Pac rarely miss.
As for Tyson, I agree with that whole statement man. The Cus thing would've gotten into his head and he maybe couldve pulled it out of himself to take Buster out.
Most of those losses were tragic because, all it took were some minor adjustments and some self awareness in the situations -- that could have drastically changed the fight.
Ortiz was just coming forward and eating ALL of Mayweather's counters. He was imposing his body size but he wasn't doing it efficiently. Effective? possibly but probably not the best way to go about it.
Judah could have beaten Mayweather too, he was doing pretty well the first 4 rounds, round 5 was where Mayweather started gaining momentum.
To Arguello vs Pryor 1. round 13 "Stop trying to bang with him. He's naturally a brawler and he can also box, but you box better than him! You made a statement in the middle rounds. Becareful though because his boxing isn't something to take lightly. Lure him in and counter with precision, We could be a head on points right now but that doesn't mean we are. Stay off the ropes, your fight is in the middle of the ring. Stay alert and land!"
To Gatti vs Mayweather Going into round 2 "Listen, we had a game plan but you're not sticking to it. Do what we practiced. Also, keep your damn hands up. He's much sharper than we expected but hes not invincible! We just gotta hold ourselves together. Stick your jab out there, feel him out and land the right hand when you find him. You're good, we have another 11 rounds, don't get discouraged!"
Archie Moore-Harold Johnson 5.
I'd tell Harold that all he has to do is survive. He's ahead on the cards by miles and don't get into any silly exchanges because Archie has the power to change a fight in one punch.
Cotto-Pac, I would tell Miguel after round 2 to stay outside the pocket and focus on counter punching. I would tell him not to stay too close and to watch the uppercuts, to not drop his hands, and to keep his punches short and compact.Hey coach, you should've mentioned that in practice, lmao
to Mcclellan vs Benn from the 5th round on... "Theres something definitely not right... your blinking too much, and all round acting wierd. No way am i sending you out to fight the monster punching naturally bigger Benn. Fight over!"
To Hagler, after the first round of the Leonard fight: "What the hell are you doing, boy, why are you trying to beat him at his own game? Remember how you got here, destruct and destroy! Don't let them get a chance to rob you, let your fists be your judges! Now go out there, get back to being southpaw and get on top of that f*cker!"
i would've told billy conn to just do what he has been doing and not get carried away with the success he's been having against the brown bomber..
that could've been an achievement for the ages had he exhibited a liitle more patience executing his gameplan and beat joe louis...
This, it breaks my heart every time I think about it man. Oscar should have won.
If I was Alcazar, I would have said something like "You need to keep doing what you're doing. Don't run away! The jab is working like a charm! He looks absolutely BAFFLED at the fact your boxing skills are so refined! 2 rounds and we go home! Embarrass him! Now is the chance."
Williams vs Martinez. For Williams it'd go "Stop eating that left straight with your face, we got him on the volume punching, that ain't a problem. He's landing that straight left without a problem and whats worse is that you're running into it. You keep taking that shot and you'll get knocked cold. Every time you throw the left hook, step to your left and throw up your right hand. "
To Ortiz/Judah vs Mayweather after round 6 "Take your time, breathe, be patient. He's always thinking and reforming an attack or defense. What you're doing is working. Loosen up, relax. Go in, pick at him a bit, throw a combo, get out. He's starting to figure you out. Mix it up, be calm but make it hard for him."
To Morales vs Pacquiao the 2nd time. round 5 "Reserve your energy, I know you like to go out there and fight but we can win! Putting an end to this! Watch his ****ing left! Keep jabbing and countering his right hand, stepping over to your left side. He won't know what to do. No matter what you do, avoid the left! We're winning thus far. We can brawl but we can also box, he can brawl but he can't box!"
To Tyson vs Douglas "What would Cus say if he saw you right now? We've gotten this far and we can't lose to this guy now! You're supposed to be the best heavyweight champion ever, look at you. I'm not saying this to hurt you but I'm saying it because you know damn well Cus would say this."
All I got for now, more will be posted as they hit me.

its gotta be oscar using less of his bike against tito...
oscar should have fought harder during the championship rounds...

Look. Whitaker was doing a lot of low blows. An eye for an eye.
To a certain extent, I agree with you. But only until after the first low blow from Whitaker. Id tell him to retaliate every single damn time.
I would tell Morales going into the 12th v Pac whatever u do don't turn southpaw!
I agree it was a horrible strategic decision. But my god what a memorable last round. He knew he would be hurt and take a beating but he did it to go out in a blaze of glory. He even said in post fight interview he did it for entertainment. Very few fighters like that now.
I would tell Chavez Sr. to aim below a belt a few times on Pernell. Take the initiative on the low blows first. Hit it like the pinata if need be.
I would have not told him that :nono:
its gotta be oscar using less of his bike against tito...
oscar should have fought harder during the championship rounds...
Yea that was just a disgrace. I wouldve said "Oscar, you're a fighter. You came to win money and fame, but on top of everything, you came to fight, to physically hurt this man. Stop running and fight."
Marquez - Pacquiao I
i'd tell Marquez, Pacquiao is a limited skilled 1 dimensional brawler,
move away from his straight left utilize the left uppercut/ Straight combo and counter punch him to death
I agree and for the most part thats what he did, but he didnt need to try to brawl with Pacquiao which made it a much closer fight than it should have been. He could have won that entire fight using the left uppercut and straight right. Pacquiao kept coming straight in to walk into those counters. Marquez just let the mexican in him get out and he wanted to fight toe to toe which proved bad for him.
pacquiao on pacquiao-marquez III. roach was telling his guy absolutely nothing, i was so damn and disappointed that time, because one advise could have change the entire fight..
I would tell manny to constantly rotate and move to his right after and before his leaps and throws his lead left and right hook inorder for him to avoid the straight right hands of marquez which he couldnt see and been eating all night. he also did this when buboy told him, but only a couple of times and its was really successful..
Though I am pro-Marquez, if i was in pacs corner I wouldve told him virtually the same thing. I'd tell him to watch the traps Marquez was setting up and to use his jab much more constantly to keep Marquez back. Id tell him not to fall into getting countered and to muscle Marquez to the ropes. Other lesser opponents had been easily able to do so but Pacquiao never got him on the ropes or the corner. I would have him throw his lead left and right hook before circling to the right as you said, and to utilize feints to keep Marquez confused.
