Who has the better resume and who should get inducted in the hall of fame first?
Jmm-
1-Barerra
2-Casamyor
3-Diaz
4-Juarez
5-Katsidas
Cotto
1-Mosley
2-Margo
3-Quintana
4-Judah
5-Mallinaggi
lol, what is up with "marquez should have at least 1 win against pacquiao"
What exactly makes people think he "should" have 1 win, because the way i see it, he "should" have 3 losses, as the judge from the first fight admitted he scored it wrong- that is not debatable, it's a fact.
Your biased scorecards mean nothing, if you had marquez winning any of the 3 pacquiao fights, it just means you dont know how to score properly.
That said, Marquez has not beaten anyone of note in his career. He lost to his biggest rival 3 times. Cotto only lost to the greatest of his era once, and even though he didn't see the final bell he did at least hurt pac a little. Cotto, even as pac's leftover, bloodied floyd's nose whereas marquez got shutout cos floyd was too scared to come forward
They are close, i admit, on the atg scale, but cotto ranks higher.

JMM has 3 wins over Pac in my book, but then again I dont know how to score...

Heck no. I refuse to accept decisions from crooked judges. Just my opinion though, it doesn't matter anyway because Marquez still has the better resume without the Pac wins.
i dont disagree with jmm having the better one, but based on official stats, imo it's not miles away from cotto as some posters here are quick to say.
yeah basically what i'm saying. we're just flipping supposed wins and losses here. so best to base it on official records right?

Nah, those loses to Whitaker, Sturm, and you can even make a case for Quartey would be too much.

it's very tempting to quickly say jmm has the better resume. but really, his best performances were officially 2 losses and a draw with pac. let's go by official records shall we? because if not, oscar would suddenly shoot up inside the ATG list with his 'supposed wins' against mosley and trinidad!

Marquez easily. You should also add Norwood, Pacquiao, and John pretty much as well. He should have at the very least one win over Pacquiao, and he beat Norwood and John.
You left Salido, Gainer, and Polo off Marquez' list too. Those are good wins.

Man looking at Marquez opponents I'll go with Cotto lol. Katsidas was never that good...Juaraez never even won a belt...Casamyor was shot to **** and Diaz was never that good to me either.
Don't forget...Cotto has only been knocked down in 2 of his fights, Torres which he came back and knocked him out and Pacquiao. The Marg fight I don't count because AndToeknee-O used plaster
Why would that make his resume better?
im gonna have to go with cotto, i think cotto fought the better opponents. besides floyd and pac who have marquez really fought??
Do these people read at all?
I love all the names that people have brought up for Cotto, but not mentioned any of the others for Marquez.
Either way, Manuel Medina is greater than Katsidis and Juarez by a mile and better than just about anyone on Cotto's resume not named Mosley. He's a 6 time champ and FW great. What about Smoke Gainer?
Orlando Salido?
Julio Gervacio?
Robbie Peden?
Alfred Kotey?
Agapito Sanchez?
All of these guys were/are top champs.
Even Polo, who was twice majorly robbed of title wins, is better than Katsidis (as much as I love him).
Anyway, it's Marquez for me.
Casamayor
Diaz
Barrera
Pacquiao :)
Gainer
Medina
Salido
Sanchez
Peden
Kotey
etc
etc
There are champions in that list (and more champs that weren't listed) that go from 1990 to current champs right now and Marquez has beaten all of them. Yes, all of them. That's a 22 year span of champions beaten.
They also range from champions at Bantamweight all the way to Jr middleweight champions. Well, I'm not sure I can say JMW with any seriousness, but...
That's champions across 22 years and through bantamweight, superbantamweight, featherweight, superfeatherweight, lightweight, Jr welterweight, welterweight and a fake JMW.
This
Marquez has the better resume
not that cotto doesnt have a great resume himself
I hope Canelo fights Cotto in September.
Put the final nail on the coffin for the Cotto stans. I mean comon 37%? ****ing Ray Charles could see who has the better resume.
