ALEX ARIZA: "MANNY CAN'T FIGHT ANYONE NOT PROMOTED BY BOB"
By Felix Strunk | May 14, 2012
"Manny cant fight anyone not promoted by Bob," stated world-class strength and conditioning Alex Ariza, who opened up to fans over the weekend, answering a number of questions from his followers on Twitter. Never afraid to express his honest opinion, Ariza held nothing back when it came to questions regarding a mega-fight between his client, Manny Pacquiao, and Floyd Mayweather. While some fans expressed their opinion that the undefeated fighter was to blame for the bout not happening, Ariza actually shares the same opinion as Mayweather, placing 100% of the blame on promoter Bob Arum.
"Wrong, its Arum," Ariza would reply when a fan suggested that Mayweather should share the blame. In fact, Ariza is of the opinion that perhaps Mayweather should get a higher percentage of the purse if his pay-per-view numbers are indeed higher than Pacquiao's numbers. "Not if Floyds #s are higher," he answered when a fan asked if Pacquiao deserves a 50/50 split of the purse.
Some think the fight would be much easier to make if Arum was not standing in the way, but the only way that could happen is if Pacquiao can part ways with his longtime promoter, much like De La Hoya, Mayweather, and most recently Cotto was able to do. Unfortunately, that will likely never happen, as the person responsible for giving Pacquiao that advise, Michael Koncz, is more concerned with what's best for Arum, according to Ariza. When asked why Koncz doesn't advise Pacquiao to part ways with Arum, Ariza commented, "Cause he works for Bob."

Floyd and Arum are both to blame but most of the floydiots blamed it to Pacquiao. Fight is not happening no matter what. Pac can get rid of Arum to make this fight happen but how to get rid of Floyd?
With all due respect, your analysis here is not sound.
Just going by past numbers and percentage of ppv pay out.
Obviously used the highest grossing boxing ppv of all time as an example.
DLH - May sold 2.4 mill ppv and generated an estimated 120 million dollars.
They as a whole received 77 million out of that 120 (64% of the ppv revenue)
If Floyd is asking for 55/45 and guarantying Manny 40 Mill(no ppv)
Floyd is guaranteed to make 50 million
Which in total is 90 million dollars.
If you go by the % of the ppv revenue of 120 million at the rate of 2.4 million buys at the cost of 49.99
The Manny - May show down would have generate 140 million at the rate of 2.33 million buys at the cost of 59.99
And that is just to pay both fighters guaranteed money.
There really is no significant ppv revenue to receive over Mannys guaranteed 40 million dollars
So its a solid deal that Manny turned down.

obvious lies,it's all Floyds fault,Arum even tried to build a stadium to make this fight happen...why couldnt floyd just ask the judge to push his jail date back again???
I couldn't believe when the midgets jumped all over that "stadium" story.
Bump this ^^^^^^^ so everyone can read the only contract that was ever negotiated. Since then Floyd has continued to sell more ppvs and garner a bigger guarantee and pay out from those ppv's
In the first and only negotiation, the one that had Schafer and Arum in the same room these terms were agreed to:
- A 50/50 split right down them middle
- 8 oz gloves, fighters choice
- standard ring
- MGM Grand and March 13th or May 5th
- Mayweather's name first for prmotional paraphenalia
- Mayweather walks into ring second.
- A 10 million dollar penalty for any pound Mayweather weighs in over 147.
All of these terms were agreed to by both parties. During the negotiation of these terms team MP knew about Team Mayweathers desire for additional PED testing. It was not thrown into the negotiation after these terms were agreed upon. IT WAS THE FINAL TERM TO BE AGREED ON, and in actuality Freddie Roach indicted they would agree a month beforehand.
Manny wanted a 30 day cutoff, which then went to 24 days, Floyd countered with 14 days, and they said no. So again this was the deal that was rejected:
- A 50/50 split right down them middle
- 8 oz gloves, fighters choice
- standard ring
- MGM Grand and March 13th or May 5th
- Mayweather's name first for prmotional paraphenalia
- Mayweather walks into ring second.
- A 10 million dollar penalty for any pound Mayweather weighs in over 147.
- 14 day cut off for OST
Now if i'm Floyd and i do all of this in good faith (against my own judgement and greed) and the other guy turns it down, would i be so generous as to offer it again????
oh so this is the post big dunn is talking about...well it is stupid.
while it's true that 15% of 100 million is 15 million, the 65 and 35 million doesn't make sense at all. 65 less 35 = 30 million which is 30% of 100 million.
a 15% difference in a 100 million total purse should be 57.5 million to 42.5 million.
Not quite. If Floyd is to make 15% more than Pac, and they're splitting $100m (would likely be a lot more), the split would be 53.5/46.5.
How can you continue to say that? especially in a thread that show's that Floyd isn't ducking...you pac fans are something special really.Give it a few pages, me and him had a nice chat. :)
DEFINITELY Dicaprio. That guy impresses me almost every time he takes to the screen.
Working with Quentin Tarantino, I expect Dicaprio to get nominated and maybe win an Oscar for this upcoming role:
