Both are stylistic nightmares for each other...Most times people underrate Mayweathers toughness, and underrate Duran's defense and subtle technical prowess...Mayweather was arguably the greatest junior lightweight ever and Duran was Arguably the greatest lightweight ever only losing one fight at that weight to Esteban De Jesus whom he twice avenged after.
this is a 50/50 so I see no one being dominated at all, IMO it would depend on who adapts the fastest throughout the fight, both were great tacticians...this fight is to close to just base it on speed, power, strength or intangibles
Mayweather would have to bite down and fight at times, and Duran would have to cut off the ring and counterpunch at times...based off their styles and weaknesses I'd favor Mayweather because of his lateral movement, jab and counterpunching abilities and he'd be able to match Duran punch for punch unlike some of his other opponents based off his defense and reflexes....Also Mayweather is a better overall fight than the De Jesus that beat Duran and has some of those attributes is taller with a better Jab...Duran was rough as they come and a great counter puncher as well great to the body...man what a fantasy fight!!!
in one fight I'd favor Mayweather only because he'd land more shots but it would be by split or majority decision in a very great fight where we'd see the best of both at display
in a 3 fight series neither would have the upperhand, both would adapt but based off Duran's susceptablity to speed and lateral movement I'd say Mayweather wins 2-1...I could see Duran getting a kd or two in the series
Duran is the greater p4p fighter but head to head I'd pick Mayweather but I go back and forth on it all the time this wouldve been great

SRL could not deal with a fit and prime Duran, Mayweather would have no chance
Out box him and out fight him, push him back, pressure him, smash him to the body, Mayweather would do more running than Haile Gebrselassie.
Duran 13rd KO
good results...fairly even thread...proves neither guy would dominate the other...their style would give each other nightmares
in nsb poll results don't prove *****.
I've always said Duran beats Floyd at 135, still stand by that.
I def agree that Duran beats Floyd at 135. I think Floyd does better in a rematch though. He would pot shot one shot at a time, or counter one shot at a time, and then move his entire body out of harms way.
Personally Floyd vs Duran and Sweet Pea are two fantasty matchups i would most like to see, with the exception of Tyson vs any of Ali, Frazier, Foreman, Liston, Louis.
Trust me, everyone is about to jump in and go "WTF!?!?! Duran murders him!"
But honestly at 135 in their prime, Mayweather frustrates him, most likely make him quit like Leonard did in their 2nd fight.
But that wasn't Duran in his prime on the 2nd fight. Gain too much weight on his off time, while the rematch was made fast because of it.
You're dreaming, Duran has on of the best inside games in history, power in both hands, great chin, and boxing IQ. NO way Mayweather makes it to the final bell, probably tko's Floyd on the ropes.
At 135? Did you see Floyd Mayweather at 135? Not 130, not 140...135? Duran would batter him senseless.
Don't think he'd batter him senseless but I think Mayweather would struggle with Duran and lose.
That's at any weight IMO. Except 154.
135? Mayweather too fast, too much defense, too skilled. Duran's defense is SORELY underrated but still, Mayweather is level's above. Plus the power Floyd had at 135? Noone beats Floyd at that weight, except for maybe Sweet Pea.
You made a key point in your thread as well. It's about who "adapts the fastest." NOONE in the sport of boxing adapts as quickly as Floyd Mayweather Jr.

at WW, Duran smashes him. He could do what Cotto did only much better. He was so tricky, explosive and hit so hard. On top of that he fought for 15 rounds!!
whos the idiot now b1tch?
You are, he answered the question and added a little extra. You werent even replying to him. You are trying to answer the TS question with what Floyd has done at 147... That is a testament to how you haven't been watching boxing for long because you don't know sh1t. You sir, are an idiot.
B1tch:wave:
Duran WOULD NOT get damaged by floyd mayweather jr
yeah Duran wouldnt get hit either...lol when you get hit it causes damage...both fighters will get bruised up...this is boxing not ballet
its rare that when these guys fight some one they dont mark them up and even punches that dont visibly hurt you damaged you...I have been in the ring before several times, have you? If you did you'd understand what Im saying man
