a fight where you couldnt believe what was happening? im watching delahoya-pacquiao right now and i remember watching this fight live and thinking wow pacquiao is really mistreating delahoya right now. i thought de la hoya would win, but if he was going to lose, i didnt think it would be like that.
Hatton vs Pacquiao: Destroyed the bigger Hatton with a brutal KO
Oscar vs Pacquiao: Everyone called this fight a mismatch, it was for Pacquiao.
Tyson vs Holyfield II : Iron Mike gets hungry and bites a chunk out of Holy's ear
Benn vs McClellan: Brutal fight, with a tragic outcome
Mares vs Agbeko: Dirty cheat of a ref, robbed Agbeko of a victory in the Bantamweight tourney.
Nigel Benn vs. Gerald McClellan
Nigel should have lost via round one knockout.
I'm half and half when it comes to this fight. I'm happy Nigel was allowed to carry one and provide an unbelievable lionhearted comeback that ended in a brutal victory.
I'm not so happy when I start to see Gerald pushing the gum shield out and start blinking before he collapsed in his corner.
Good Shout. That thing was amazing!! Everytime I watch it I wonder how the hell Benn Survived, the G-Man was a beast Benn took it all and eventually beat the crap outta him. Sad ending to what was an amazing fight
Crazy? Any fight with Jorge "Maromero" Paez or Hector Camacho, the Holyfield-Bowe fight with the paraglider, forget his name but the heavyweight coming into the ring crying, Muhammad Ali screaming excuses to the crowd while getting whupped by Larry Holmes(at least that's how I remember it 30 years later). I also saw a local amateur fight with this young Mexican kid that was literally crazy. He had a head made of iron and couldn't be hurt and he rarely threw a punch except when he would blatantly hit and hold in the middle of mauling his opponent with wrestling moves.
I know this one has been posted already but:
Trinidad loosing to Hopkins
We all had our Trinidad shirts on
Puerto Rico socks on (seriously)
beer, Bacardi everyone drinking
Cuba-libres...
When the fight ended...
It was like someone wiped P.R.
off the map...
I'm getting depressed don't want to
talk about it any more...
He still my favorite boxer...
I remember watching Mosley-Margarito live, and although I picked Mosley to win I had no idea he was going to dominate like that. Marg looked like a machine in the Cotto fight.
Recently? Cintron and Martinez. I don't recall having seen that level of all around screwage in a while. Then again..I remember buying into the Cintron hype til he got tooled by the Marg...then he did a Raiden out the ring with P will.. Man...Cintron is one memorable dude.
Craziest fight would have to be the thrilla in Manila for me Everytime I watch it was like damn back and fourth the whole
Fight I wasn't wondering who was gonna win I was wondering who's gonna die
Kirkland vs Angulo round 1.
I remember really being on the fence about who I wanted to win because surely the loser was going to lose by KO. Round 1 had it all.
and the second half of Juanma vs Salido II.
I remember rounds 8&9 just shaking my head at these guys destroying each other and not knowing who was going to give. Round 10 was decisive and came as a surprise.
Tommy Hearns vs Marvin Hagler!!!
I remember cheering for tommy and not knowing the result or awareness of the fight because that was the fight that got me in to boxing and made a thomas hearns fans despite the fact that he lost!
Motor City Cobras 4 life!
To me it has to be when Trinidad lost to Hopkins. Trinidad was a big favorite for that fight and after a 40-0 record he seemed unstoppable. I saw that one live and you were always expecting Trinidad to lay down the hammer but it never happened.
craziest is a little hard to define, but one of the most surprising for me has always been tyson-douglas...that was just a shock....i guess with hindsight the telltale signs were there, but still, it was a pretty crazy fight in tokyo to be sure
