I want to see Sillakh fighting against top oposition, but Pascal, Dawson and Cloud duck him. Pascal has a mandatory fight and refused.
What do you think about??

Good Call....too bad Sillakh could not duck that right punch that staggered him.
HBO needs to hire Atlas sure his predictions aren't always right but the passion and excitement is there. Plus he usually has constructive things to say about the fighters. Not to sound like a Floyd fanboy but you can always tell when Merchant isn't fond of a particular fighter, and the whole speech thing is the icing on the cake. Anyway, seems like Sillakh is too flawed defensively for him to be so defensive minded if that makes sense.
Hahaha I'll admit, I thought Sillakh was the real deal. But it was way too early for a thread like this.
It'll be another couple years before we hear anything about him again.
sillahk had a great international amateur career but every time he lost in a big tournament it was via stoppage
he's got LOTS of stoppage losses in the AMS
i think we'll see his chin exposed eventually. 175 is a bit weak, but there are some guy at 168 that could get the job done. bute, dirrel, and less of a puncher, but ward would beat the hell out of him
if dawson actually let his hands go he'd stop sillahk as well.
i think the kid still needs a lot of time. he does have some talent though, certainly. he's huge.
wow you thoroughly follow boxing nice job. who do you pick in hop dwsn. what part of ne you from?

those guys are scared sh1t. great insight.
It's so cliche to say that he and he and he is ducking him and him and him... It's getting old.
Just do your fights and earn your right. Suddenly all will realize that you're the rightfull contender, and by that - MAKE A NAME FOR YOURSELF MAN!!!
Now we see why Sillakh's promoter Square Ring and Roy Jones wouldn't let him fight Kovalev without getting options on him.
Kovalev and Sukhotsky are two LHW's that never get mentioned and Sukhotsky not only got robbed against Brahmer but got robbed of the KO and is Cleverly's mandatory which the WBO has allowed him to duck for 3 or 4 fights now.

lol good call.

here's a link to his boxrec. the results from lots of his big tournaments are there. there's at least three stoppage losses in there. one walk over, too, but who knows what could have happened.
he's been thrice stopped as an amateur. you named two of them, and the other was at FW and more than a decade ago.
i've seen sillakh a good deal. i keep my own council on a fighter and i dont need you or teddy atlas to tell me otherwise, with all respect. he's talented, but i dont like how he reacts to the few hard shots i've seen him take. if you care to look i was bringing up the stoppage losses on his amateur record before atlas said that on the FNF air. i certainly wouldnt care to go through the trouble.
anyway, there are the big tournament results and the stoppages. on boxrec of all places
So your main reason for not being very high on Siillakh is that he has been stopped 3 times in 320 or so amateur fights. One of those being when he was 14 FRIGGIN years old!!!?
Give me a break man. This is the only negative thing you can say about him?
He started boxing when he was about 8 or 9 years old so maybe you can go back to when he was in elementary school and find another stoppage. Hahahah!
Seriously, how many fighters have 320 amateur fights to begin with? There is no one in the LHW div that has had close to that so how can you compare his amateur record to any other fighter? Maybe Pascal or Dawson, Cloud, Cleverly, etc. have 320 amateur fights they may have taken a few good shots and been stopped once or twice. Do you think thats possible?
Syllakh owned Despaigne. Yordenis (9-2) is a solid fighter, but he didn't look all that great against Edison Miranda and he lost his last fight versus Cornelius White.
The only time I ever saw the "Black Russian" fight was against Despaigne, but I was very impressed. Now I come to read about his apparently questionable chin and I wonder. I hope Ismayl’s beard doesn’t keep him from reaching the top. I really enjoyed watching the kid fight, even though I was rooting for Yordenis.
Yes, but Despaigne came making a good career but, Sillakh hit him lot and detached the retina

He needs a little more exposure. Right now he is too high risk/low reward. It would be a bad career choice for a top guy in the division to fight him right now.
It's kind of like companies who only want to hire someone with previous experience.
He fought Despaigne who is a solid prospect.
