Ring Magazine’s New Top-10 P-4-P Ratings “Leaked” - Mayweather Replaces Pac-Man At #1!
By James Slater: According to a news article that has appeared on the Manila Bulletin, the new issue of “The Bible of Boxing,” Ring Magazine (the May issue, set to hit the stores soon) will have an updated top-10 Pound-for-Pound listing. One that sees Floyd Mayweather Junior sitting atop the legendary magazine’s listings.
Pac-Man was rated #1 P-4-P by Ring in the years 2008, 2009 and 2010, while “Money” was ranked the supreme of the supreme in 2011. Now, according to The Bulletin, Mayweather is back at the top of the heap.
Here are Ring Magazine’s full ten, P-4-P:
1: Floyd Mayweather Junior
2: Manny Pacquiao
3: Sergio Gabriel Martinez
4: Andre Ward
5: Juan Manuel Marquez
6: Nonito Donaire
7: Wladimir Klitschko
8: Tim Bradley
9: Pongsaklek Wonjongkam
10: Lucian Bute.
Has Pacquiao been demoted due to his razor-thin, much debated points win over archrival Juan Manuel Marquez? How will The Bible look if Mayweather either struggles mightily with, or even loses to Miguel Cotto on May 5th? Of course, there is a chance Pacquiao could lose in an upset to Tim Bradley in June!

I think they are a little wacky from 6 down still IMO... Let the flaming begin! :boxing:
Don't forget Klitschko. I know his opposition hasn't been spectacular but what he's done is damn impressive and deserves more kudos than he gets. And he's a pretty good fighter, he really is. Has held the mantle well.
No doubt about it...
I agree. I have it Martinez, Mayweather and Ward. All 3 have easily accomplished more than Pac since beating Cotto at 145 lbs. Hell JMM has, Hopkins has.... Too many fighters accomplishing more than Pac for Pac to be top 5 let alone top 3.

It's all an opinionated list. You have your opinion that Khan>Bradley. Which I completely disagree with. All an opinion.
I don't think his list is terrible. I agree with the top 6. The order was just unique. I haven't seen that order before. Doesn't mean it is a **** list. I think those 6, plus with Donaire, those 7 are interchangeable. But, that's my opinion that most might disagree with also.
Martinez at no1? Hes been fighting the likes of Barker and Macklin. If Pacquiao or Mayweather were fighting those calibre opponents, I can only imagine the outrage. And I like Sergio way more than either of them.
You can make an outside argument for #3 and maybe #2 but I agree he doesn't deserve the top slot. Maybe I'm giving Martinez too much credit but he gets my #1 for moving up and absolutely flattening a feared pound for pounder in Williams and an undisputed champ who had never lost at 160 before (Pavlik). He then beat arguably the best junior middle (via KO) in a dominating performance and has KO'ed two other contenders in dramatic fashion. The winner of Lee-Chavez next to boot. Mayweather gets my vote for #2 but that has more to what Pacquiao has done (or hasn't done, I should say) lately. And I thought he lost to Marquez. He hasn't done much since beating Cotto as you said.

Pac hasn't accomplished anything since beating Cotto at 145..... Nothing he has done warrants him to be #1, #2 or #3.

Quickest way to end the debate? There is no change to the rankings at Welterweight or P4P in the May issue.

there is no way floyd should be number 1 !!!!! and this is not me hating on floyd its just me using common logic and being unbiased !!!!!! floyd doesnt fight often enough to be number 1 , floyd last victory was not classy thats also why he shouldnt be number 1 , and last but not least look at his competition it was victor ortiz for crying out loud thats another reason he shouldnt be number 1 !!!!!!! the ring listing was nothing more than politics !!!!!!!
heres the real list
1 manny
2nonito
3 sergio
4 ward
5 marquez
6 mayweather
#6 is where floyd deserves to be because he doesnt fight often enough
Lol. He put Manny and Nonito as the top 2. A Filipino put Manny and Nonito as the top 2 and he wants us to believe that he is unbiased. But I'm sure your list is the correct list. Not the rings. Or the ESPN.

Coming off a loss to a fighter moving up two divisions, a fighter who got put on his ass in his previous fight...I can't take any publication serious that still has him at #1.
