Andre Ward and Freddie Roach comment on the strange Disqualification of Carlos Molina last weekend in his fight against James Kirkland. Roach says that Floyd Mayweather didn't get disqualified against Zab Judah after Floyd's cornerman Uncle Roger jumped into the ring. Here is the video:
FOH with that bulls**t Roach. Let's go back to the Mayweather-Judah fight. You really think any referee in that situation and setting would DQ Mayweather?
It was a PPV fight, Mayweather was cruising at that point and why would you DQ Mayweather and give Judah the win when Zab was the one who started it with the low blow and punch behind the head?
I personally think Zab should've been disqualified for the low blow, but moreso for the blow behind the head. Did roger break the rules yes but cheaters like Margarito and Zab really should be suspended for life. This isn't the first time Zab has done something crazy remember the attack on the ref after the kostazyu fight.
Molina got away with way too much holding and Kirkland wouldn't throw the Jab to save his life. I do think Molina was in trouble in the tenth and was losing the first two minutes of every round after the seventh but could've won the fight on the cards if he didn't get stopped.
Good thing Floyd wasn't in bull**** Texas
It could have been the best thing for Floyd .... after losing that precious "0", do you think that Floyd would have avoided Manny, Margarito, Cotto, Williams, .... like that? Hope not! He may have risked it more
This is why you don't fight in Texas. You might get bent over as Malignaggi put it. Who knows? Does anyone know what the rule book has to say in a situation like this one??
In a article the other day Molinas team said they were getting the result changed to a NC because the rule states "if a fighter is down when the bell ring as soon as he gets to his feet the round is over" or something similar. The bell rang Molina got to his feet and the ref shouldn't have given him an 8 count.
This is why you don't fight in Texas. You might get bent over as Malignaggi put it. Who knows? Does anyone know what the rule book has to say in a situation like this one??
FIRST OFF, ROACH CANT KEEP FLOYDS NAME OUT OF HIS MOUTH....
SECONDLY, THIS WAS NOT THE SAME REF EITHER. EVERY REF IS DIFFERENT. The situation is totally different.
THIRDLY, WHILE IT DOESNT MAKE IT RIGHT, THERE WERE X2 INTENTIONAL FOULS BY JUDAH, AND THAT GAVE IT A WASH.... THE REF MADE A DECISION AND LET IT RIDE. Judah was probably making more in the Floyd fight than KIRKLAND/MOLINA COMBINED.... MONEY IS USUALLY THE DECIDING FACTOR.
FOURTH, ARE WE HONESTLY COMPARING MOLINA TO MAYWEATHER???? This is not the world of FAIRNESS that people believe in (the sheep, the masses)
I mean honestly do you guys think Molina could have gotten a title shot at a catchweight like Pac and Margarito bypassing the real contenders???
Simply put the name that sells will more than likely get the nod, AND SPECIAL TREATMENT. Wasnt pac the first one to get the DIAMOND BELT??? LOL How do you think the round is over??? I mean honestly........ They are their watching the ref and the fight intently. There will be a rematch and they will keep their asses off the apron....
So Roach needs to go sit down somewhere... Is it fair he gets to announce, when others can simply put speak better than him?? Is that fair???? Of course not, and no one complains... We all know it was simply because of his training status, its for damn sure not his fighting prowess.....
SO ROACH SIMPLY PREPARE PACQUIAO FOR THE ASS WHOOPIN... A MAN WITH A NET WORTH OF 26 MILLION WILL TAKE A FIGHT FOR 40 MILLION...
Roach was using it as an example of how a referee used common sense. He wasn't having a dig at Mayweather so your rant is worthless.
read my last post..........it's a reason why it wasn't handled like the floyd judah fight.
roach doesn't know what he's talking about. he just repeated a bunch of crap that he saw in the media & on the net & thats why he was attacked for not getting the full facts & babbling @ the first chance that he could say "mayweather"
Well you answered his post, so which were you, nut hugger A or B ?
Impressed with how articulate and on point ward is. He'd make a great sportscaster.
Yeah that got me to. I dont think i have ever watched him do any kind of real commentary before.
When has Roach ever said anything good about Floyd in teh last x2 years?? Its called reading between the lines....
You ***** feel hard for this thread. ROFL man you guys look real stupid right about now. :owned2: Man this is great, you *****s make me laugh real hard.
In Floyd-Judah, time was called because of the low blow.
In Molina-Kirkland, there was an 8 count in the process.
Pac-tards don't actually watch boxing so they have no concept of what you just did.....
Did anyone even watch the video?
Seems like people are just assuming roach had a dig at floyd because of the TS
Roach was saying what the ref did in the judah fight was right....and the ref in the molina fight should have let the fight go on
Some people just want to have a moan before they even know whats going on
the floyd groupies didnt even watch the video before talking out of their as5 , it was expected their dumb as rocks
It's debatable as to whether they are just groupies. In my opinion, when it comes to Mayweather and Pacquiao, there are at least 3 sub-species- "Crazies"... "Loonys", and "Groupies". Some might add "Headcases"...and "Maniacs'.
It seems to me that the most blatant and abject lies are invented by the Mayweather-ites. Maybe they are just smarter and can imagine the more unimaginable things......almost Science Fiction. (which I happen to be reading just now. I'm a keen S.F. reader)
read my last post..........it's a reason why it wasn't handled like the floyd judah fight.

You should be careful what you say. If The Roach just repeated a "bunch of crap that he saw in the media and on the internet" ISN'T THAT EXACTLY WAT YOU DO?? I'm sure he saw the fight too.
We all do it, so why only scoriate The Roach.
time was called in the mayweather fight (the action was completely brought to a halt) & judah was the one who started it..........also that ref didn't go against any rules considering that he stopped the clock, roger jumped in the ring after the clock was stopped hints why the ref just threw roger out of the fight & didn't disqualify mayweather (who was on the ground suffering from illegal nut shots)
in the kirkland fight the ref was doing a 8 count & the round was officially still going on when molinas trainer walked in the ring............
b*tch all you want but the kirkland ref reacted in a way that was totally of the rules..............now, if he should have been more flexible & more forgiving for what molinas trainer did is debatable between what kind of ref he is..........some refs are extremely strict.
the kirkland mayweather ref comparisons is a great big joke from butthurt losers.
you guys are B*tching without looking at the facts
I think you're wrong. The Texas Rules have shown thatt the ref, strictly legally, was correct.
As far as Mayweather is concerned, even a confirmed Mayweather lover should have noticed that although the ref didn't see anything wrong (bad eyesight-there certainly was) The commission fined him a large sum and suspended him for a year.
So he WAS wrong......don't you think? Or was the commission breaking it's own rules by fining him??
Take it as you want, the circumstances were different.
The actions didn't go completely unpunished anyways. Roger and Zab were both suspended.
You pointed out a difference that makes no difference, the trainer still isn't allowed to jump into the ring even if time is called.
So... Does anyone actually talk about Boxing anymore on this site? It always seems to come down to hating on fighter A, hugging fighter B's nuts, then out of nowhere ripping on fighter C...
That being said, nothing negative was said about Floyd. He was using the Floyd/Zab example as how it SHOULD have been handled. There was nothing there that was meant to insult anyone... Sooooooooo yeah. He was using a big example to show HOW things should have been done, he wasn't saying that Floyd SHOULD have been DQ'd because Roger stepped into the ring.

Hezikiyahu, I don't think the Roach was comparing anyone to anyone. I understood it to be a mention of a high-profile fight that most would have been aware of. And it was justifiable, a far more egregious rule-breaking than Molina's corner.
As for your comment about fairness, the reason for a referee is for that purpose only, that the fight be fair......Although in the Molina case, the ref was abiding strictly by the rules, where 99% would not have
So if time was called, another trainer can run in the ring and attack the opposition boxer?
Its ok if time is called?
Exactly. And didn't Roger choke Zab enough that people saw Judah pass out and slump for a second?
So there we had a fighter be physically attacked by his opponent's trainer and still that fight was allowed to continue.
Also reminds me of what happened during Sergio's fight w/ Cintron. How Cintron and his team somehow persuaded whoever was in charge to let the fight start again after Sergio knocked him out.
In both fights, it took minutes for them to decide to let the fight go on(justified or not), but with Molina/Kirkland the Ref ended the fight in a matter of seconds.
