Like him, hate him, or indifferent....floyd has the most effective training schedule in boxing.
Im wondering why more fighters don't train at night. It modifies your biological clock to be at it's peak performance at night when fights take place. It is also cooler at night which makes it more comfortable when running and getting out of the gym which reduces the risk of cramps and eases soreness.
Boxing has a lot of tradition.
Most of these trainers are well into their late 50's early 60's and are still using outdated training methods.
This is why you still see guys lifting giant rubber tires and swinging sledgehammers. Running at 4AM (for some of the same reasons you've mentioned), going up sand dunes, lifting heavy weights and so on.
Physical training in boxing has evolved very very slowly.
Up-to-date nutrition in boxing is almost not existent.
actually, swinging sledgehammers and lifting giant rubber tires is a great way for to build strength and explosiveness.
Roman is correct. Leonard Ellerbe is Floyd's strength and conditioning coach. He used to be Hasim Rahman's strength and conditioning coach. Why do you think he's there in Floyd's corner of every fight? As a cheerleader?

""He's not only the best fighter in the world, but he's the hardest worker that's out there," said Mayweather's adviser and conditioning coach, Leonard Ellerbe."
Instead of ripping on Roman, you guys should have at least googled it.
Yes he is dumbass. That's how he started with "moneyteam" he started off as the strength and conditioning coach. And, then they became very close that Ellerbe became a bigger part of the team. He still his conditioning coach. Don't talk about something you have no clue about.
What's Al Haymon position? Haymon is the adviser, Ellerbe also has an input but Ellerbe is the conditioning coach and handles all the PR and business for Mayweather promotion.
Point is Ellerbe is his strength and conditioning coach.
You dont know **** about boxing. Ellerbe is CEO of mayweather promotions. Haymon does not work for mayweather promotions but brokers deals between mayweather, HBO and GBP.
You are a numb nut
Sooo just because you said it's "scientifically proven" we should take your word for it?
I would like a link if you please.
You wouldnt understand it, its too advanced for you.
Where do you live?
You're probably an east coast moron who doesnt realize that there is a 3 hour difference in Las Vegas
So when its 10 pm on the east, its only 7 on the west :dunce:
The main event is never on at 10 on the east you numb nut
WTF do you guys think Leonard Ellerbe is?
Discipline- for being such a Floyd fan, you know shit about him.
Ellerbe is CEO of mayweather promotions.
His old fat ass is not a conditioning trainer. You are retarded.
when the **** has floyd ever fought at 7pm noob?

IM not sure how training at 1 am 2 months before a fight will help adjust to a 7pm fight
Also fighters train in different places with different climates

I would do just like floyd, I would train at night because the fight will be at night. Fight day I will be sleeping up until 3 hours before the fight and I will have my energy correct. Instead of waking up at 9 am and waiting until 9 pm for the fight.

You're right. There are places in the world where fights are normally 10am in the morning.
Perhaps a more accurate statement would be why don't more fighters train their bodies to peak at the same timeframe their fights would be.
Its scientifically proven to be a wise way to train.
Although I doubt floyd started doing it for that purpose. He probably just stumbled upon it because he wanted to party all night and was too lazy to get up in the morning.
Or he is just a night owl, I doubt he did it for scientific reasons but it is possible he might have started it out to gain a mental edge.
Who knows but it is certainly habit for him now.

I still remember back when Hatton fought Tszyu, the fight was going be at like 2 or 3 am and Hatton trained accordingly to get his body on that schedule while Tzsyu was like screw it working out is working out. Hatton was able to maintain his level while Tszyu faded.
Still seems like a very wise way to train.
