No just no.. Bale's portrayal of Ward's brother? Yes as real as it can get. But everything else was meh... wasn't really a boxing movie it focused more about family etc. All the boxing aspects were unrealistic like most other boxing movies out there. An underrated film is Danny Day Lewis' 'The Boxer' - it showcases everything from realistic fighting scenes to weight cutting etc.
For hollywood they did a damn good job, I really don't care how you feel about it. It was better than I had expected it to. No movie is as good as REAL boxing.
Floyd is without a doubt very beatable at this stage in his career. It happens to everyone man... the night where you're no longer the fighter you once were and you realize you're old (in a boxing context).
He is but not at 154 and below. He needs to move up. I always said size beats Floyd.
Man I thought The Fighter was a pretty dang good movie! But yeah Will Smith did do a good job, I just didn't care for the movie.
Another good one to watch, its not boxing but it called The Wrestler. Fictional but if you grew up watching Hulk Hogan you would enjoy this movie as Hulk said it was almost spot on just not dark enough. Meaning he was in worse situations than the movie made it out to be. However the movie wasn't supposed to be him, Hulk just said it could have been because of how realistic the story was.
Why didn't you like the fighter, it was pretty authentic having Ward actually there to help make the movie.

Floyd was unbeatable at 130. Yes I said it.
People can mention all the guys who could have beaten him in history or now, or whenever. But the FACT is at 130, he's 27-0 with 21/22 KO's against top 10 guys and top 5 P4P Diego Coralles. That's about as good a record a 5 divisional champion can have in his 1st weight class, who also has stayed undefeated throughout his next 4 weight classes.
Marciano? Whats that, havent seen it? Any good?
Liston, Ali, Winstone, Tyson, Ward..... Cant think of any others tbh
I can just see it happening, hey gotta be better than the Tiger Woods movie....
There's a black and white film I have based on the life story of Joe Louis.
But it's really really bad.
Didn't like neither of the three. Though i'd watch Ali over the other two, because Will Smith is a good actor.

The Fighter based on Mickey Ward was good, one of the best ones I've seen of recent. However I didn't like the Tyson movie they did nor did I like the Ali movie that Will Smith did.

You must not be too familar with boxing's history.
They said the same thing when Ali was gonna retire.....when Leonard was gonna retire.....when Tyson was gonna retire.....when De La Hoya was gonna retire.....now people say the thing about when Mayweather and Pacquiao retire. Point is, boxing superstars always rise and the sport will never die.
Great video as usual, nothing but the best from GP.
Nobody said boxing was going to "die"...:trink26:
That is what people will remember when he retires. A true great! Nobody brings what Floyd brings to boxing.
When he leaves, the sport will hurt as MMA I think will overshadow boxing (in America at least) as nobody will keep boxing relevant like Floyd Mayweather has done for so many years.
