People tend to forget that for about 25 years Boxing was the most viewed sport in America. It still is globally 2nd after Soccer. Klitschko vs. Haye granted that fight was dreadful was the most watched sporting event globally after anything soccer did.
F1 is the most viewed sport. You definitely have no idea what you're talking about, I doubt boxing is 2nd or even close.

Major announcement soon to come that will shake the boxing industry in a major way.
what could it be??
Pac fired Bob, agreed to take the lesser share, while Floyd paid Cotto step aside money and we have a fight that should have happened years ago??? Thats not major news.... lol
I truly wish people from the US were more interested in boxing..
Actual fans too, not bandwagon fairweather pactards and such
I'm absolutely certain, you put real fights, mildly important fights on network television, a lot of boxing fans would pop up.
It's all about the right fights. If I am just flipping through channels and I come across boxing on CBS if I see two guys punching each other's faces in I might just stay..........for good. Put on some little guys and make it happen.

In order to make this work, they'll have to do what the UFC did and put a major world title fight on air... For Free.. Hype it up, showcase some young tv friendly fighters in the undercard(maybe 2 fights) then proceed to have the main event afterwards. I would love to see this happen but I don't see it doing much help to the sport if it's just a FNF type cards.

baby steps 1st they put in top prospects get them some exposure guys like Broner would benefit from this and then when advertising revenue gets bigger they could afford to put guys like Gamoa and Donaire on network TV
this is a huge 1st step imo
Man I hope you are right. Putting important fights on network television could really help boxing, that fanbase is still there that grew up watching boxing on free TV. My parents would love this.
Unless they are putting Rios-Gamboa on NBC it won't be the same though.

lmfao ............................
But i do think its a cbs deal
THEY SEE WHAT THE UFC IS DOING IN FOX AND WANT IN ON ACTION

floyd is coming out the closet.....
look at the thread title...then look at this clown's post...smh
no man should talk and think about ANOTHER man so much...its not healthy for the threads and it may be the cause of your inability to bag birds...hold that and take it with you into your next life if God gives you one!!
now back to the regular program, bringing boxing back to the networks is a very good idea....I noticed from my fight collection that the Ali-Spinks fights were on ABC as well as fights like Norton-Holmes, Leonard-Benitez, and many more...back in the days seemed like a cool time to live in....these days, the game is weird and the players are not really testing themselves imo.....but some how ppl feel like one fight will heal the game...smh
Who gives a phuck if it's on free TV. I've had cable or dish TV for years. I don't even watch the free tv stations. I guess if you're broke or still living with the parents and don't have any control over whether or not you can have HBO, Showtime, or ESPN, this is cool news, but it will be a long while before any of the really good fights are on free tv, and in the meantime, they'll have s hit fights which will only remind non boxing fans why they don't follow the sport to begin with.
Anyway, hate to be a killjoy but I'm just being real.
you are clueless.
the sport is dying bcuz not enough kids are boxing anymore. we already lost the best big athletes to the nba and the nfl and with mma growing the way it is who knows what talent will be left in our sport 20 or even 10 years from now.
the majority of the top fighters today wanted to box bcuz they caught a fight on free tv as kids. most fighters come from humble beginnings where ppv may not be an option.
i saw a fight when i was about 5 or 6 on free TV and was in awe of it, but i never really came across boxing again so my interest died until i was 14 and became friends with a guy who boxed. i cant imagine my life today if i boxing wasnt a part of it.
boxing needs to come back to the mainstream, not only through big fights on ppv but small fights that anyone can get access to. i also think you mistake small fights for s hit fights but its not the same, just because there wont be big names on free tv doesnt mean it wont be good fights.
